Well people still deserve to have a chance to tell the government whether things should change. An election where the people decide the status quo is the option they want is perfectly valid. 2008 was also an election where compared to 2006, nothing changed. Minority government where the Conservatives had to cooperate with other parties to make changes. I'm sure there have been many sequences of elections like this before too.

@@SylviusTheMad Not as long Singh is party leader!! Layton was a better politician than he was given credit for which is why the NDP was able to have their breakthrough back in '11. But the biggest reasons why they were able to be in opposition had to do with nearly winning all the seats in Quebec because of Bloc infighting & the Liberals nearly being extinguished thanks to the uninspiring leaderships of Dion & Ignatieff.
