Excellent comparison man! I have the 2.0 and looking at getting the 3.0. Honestly for my daily needs, I think the 2.0 is actually better. Yes the back cushion re-design is nice, but just about every other change seems to be for the worse for organization and making you buy something else to hold pens, cords, cards, misc EDC items, etc...
Seems like vertx 3.0 packs force you to purchase additional hook/ attachments. So you pay more and get less. Ide rather the extra pockets sewn in line the 2.0 has.
Great review. Hit the nail on the head. One feature that the vertex ready pack does have is the spider-man like material on the shoulder straps. That material grabs your clothing and doesn't let the pack randomly slide off your body if you're single strapping around town or at the airport. The 2.0 ready pack is probably one of my best buys as in terms of daily EDC, hiking with the family and traveling around the world. No look at me I'm tactical but, built like a rugged tactical pack. money well spent for sure.
I just picked up the 3.0. Honestly, my 2.0 is superior for everyday use. Even the side pockets for water bottle, coffee, or small umbrella are better on 2.0.
I've had 2.0 for about a month and out of about 20 packsi bought last 5 year this might be the best built quality. Everything is excellent about it, nobody from the reviewers mentioned how toutgh and sturdy everything is, it's padded throughout, double lining burly tough straps, the ccw compartment makes some of the best laptops compartments I've tried.. other thing that surprised me was that it's a big bag. For edc it might hold more than you need, will look big on a woman, it's too big for personal item on flights. Stated @ 18' tall on vertx site i measured 20'. Also straps are so long they go well past front of my torso and wrap around the sides. If you're a big guy, like 6.5 and more this is an edc for you. I'm definitely keeping it but since i was hoping for a smaller bag will be now looking at 3.0.
Great review. Would like to know the main compartment size (LxWxD). I like them both but prefer the 2.0 because of the capacity and pockets in the front. Thanks..
I might try a Vertx next time! LOL! I have a Helikontex Ratel now.. its cool! Polish brand! but Vertx does look good.. esp the back panel.. the Ready pack and Gammut are cool! super ex here in singapore though 300+. The ReadyPack looks so so cool!
Im rocking with the 3.0 because the padding in the back, I had the gamut and that was sweaty. the zipper size was crucial for me along with the laser cut Molle. I had purchased the evader 1.5 but that handle in the front that vertex does is like now my ultimate deal breaker. Also ready pack is just so low pro all together
I love my 2.0, bought it last week. And I will be using it in 2 weeks for my vacay! I’m ordering few stuff to complete my carry. Thanks for the comparison.
The pack I liked the most was the the Gamut 2.0. VTX5016-HNV/GBK Though the quit making it in the color options I like. I’ve been on the web off & on for several hours trying to track it down.
2.0 in tumbleweed/ toy soldier is very based, goes everywhere with me except longer tent camping trips where I use the gamut overland in the same color scheme. Your reviews abd comparisons are excellent
Have the 2.0 and love it, some companies now have the mentality of “if ain’t broke, fix it til it is”, Vertx makes great stuff tho and if you don’t have either you’ll probably be able to find the 2.0 at even better price since they’ll be pushing the 3.0 version
Since I don’t have the 2.0 after watching your brilliant review I think I would go for the 3.0. It would fit my needs. And from a female perspective I think it would definitely be my first choice. Thank you X for the excellent review.
Nice review. Does it have a pocket for a Marine? Need a defense protection system ya know. I like your reviews and perspective as someone who is active who goes places and does things.
Great review. You covered absolutely everything on both packs. I’m looking for something to take on vacation to Hawaii that I can use on the plane and to carry everything I need while there on all of our activities. 3.0 looks like it would cover everything. I’ve used Tom Bihn bags for years but like these
Personally, I eyeroll at more Velcro panel in the small front pocket, a poor fit for an admin panel (and more $$$) or an even worse fit for the pockets they make. Laser cut MOLLE and back padding is a plus, the rest is so insignificant. Just not enough to sell me on this slight upgrade for $100+ more, less colorways, more money, other than a couple slight improvements, less features overall. Perfect review though, covers everything.
Great video. Love how detailed you were. That really helps. The 3.0 is nice. If I had the extra cash I would go with that one. If not, I'm sure the 2.0 would do just fine.
I feel like Vertx is becoming more and more popular which would make these packs less “grey man”. What’s everyone’s thoughts on this. Would you feel less noticeable with a Jansport, Nike, etc bag?
I think in a SHTF situation. There are those with packs by chance(school, work) those with bags by preparation (get home/en route to BO location) and lastly , those without packs. Those without packs are going for flash 1st(stores,TVs,jewelry). The desperation of stealing a pack will mean they’re looking to steal ANY pack
As much I like my Vertx Transit Sling 2.0, as much I dislike this Vertx Ready pack. Transit Sling 2.0 is wisely designed and very ergonomic and tactical. It is perfect solution for off-body EDC: It’s relatively compact, slick and insures REAL quick draw. Moreover, with two IIIA ballistic plates it covers all my torso, when fully unzipped. Vertx Ready lacks all these features. Absolute and horrible failure! I am returning mine.

This is a concrete summation brother. Great thoughts
3.0 is a step back plus the colors are terrible. totally agree. I hope 4.0 will be better.
@@mdamdtraveldoc7183 Vertx seems to be pretty responsive, and most people seem to feel this way. I think 4.0 will be an improvement.

I have the 3.0 in that color and it’s everything I was wanting in a backpack
I just picked up the 3.0. Honestly, my 2.0 is superior for everyday use. Even the side pockets for water bottle, coffee, or small umbrella are better on 2.0.
I know the 2.0 is 25 ltr bag vs the 20 in the 3.0.But does it make a major diffrence in the amount of supplies, that can be worn comfortably

Are these bags waterproof/resistant? Like when it rains and I’m soaked, my components inside wouldn’t get wet?
Like the 3.0 don't need to carry so much items. Feel like people always like to fill the bag as much they can bc they have more room.
Great review. Would like to know the main compartment size (LxWxD). I like them both but prefer the 2.0 because of the capacity and pockets in the front. Thanks..

I agree. Although the 2.0 has better colorways in my opinion
Totally concur

I'm looking to buy one. Maybe the 2.0 is better because you can possibly get a bigger pistol riffle in it
Im happy i got the 2.0 instead of the 3.0. Seems like they just pulled a few features so you have to get their accessories.
I concur

Just got the 2.0 yesterday. I’m very happy with it so far.

Great review and comparison. Thanks
I just picked up the dead letter aaand I think I want the ready pack 3.0 over the gamut
Best review Ive seen yet. Thank you sir!
Great video. Love how detailed you were. That really helps.

Glad it was helpful!
I’m looking for a bag I can use for rucking and edc. Is this bag sturdy enough and durable enough for handling up to 50lbs for rucking?
What size rifle you think fits in the 3.0? thank you

what would you choose between the vertx gambut and mistery ranch district?
Love my 2.0 they can keep the 3.0
Spoken well, filmed well, and explained well. Thank you
Thank you kindly!
I want a clamshell edc pack
Just curious how many backpacks you actually own and use
Great review...Thanks
Thank you X!
Marines are the super heros of the Us military
So owning neither the 3.0 is worth 100.00 dollars more?
Not necessarily. I'd say no. But if you find value in those upgrades, yup
