That talk at the end was real asf man. I'm 18 and I've had to make so many sacrifices to not go party and do other things and I always ask my self if these sacrifices are worth it. I wish we can have a talk one on one cuz I relate so much to you man.

zExotic FaNc facts bro I feel you. I'll skip hanging with friends just to go to the field and train individually

    • @lionperformance4777
      @lionperformance4777 6 років тому +23

Ivan ofc you can hang out but most of the chilling nowadays involves drinking and smoking even just going to the beach and I'm not really widdit cuz it messes up my training vibe cuz I feel like shit afterwards. Also if I have training or a game the next day early sacrifices need to be made and they can be hard.

Alesandro E. yeah bro. I always tell everyone how this soccer/football journey can be a lonely journey at times because not everyone has the same mentality to go out on the field and train with cones to want to play professional. Some people don't understand the sacrifices we have to make and how hard we have to shy away from distractions. Keep grinding bro🤘🏼

Matt, that part where you talked about how much you miss your family is really sad, but if you think about it at least you have realised how important your family is and when you have a little time to see them you really use it well and really spend time with them . I think this is much better than what most people who have this opportunity to constantly be with their family do, they usually take it for granted and just stare at there phone and not even talk to them or pay attention to them...
Just trying to say that no matter who you are or what you do time will never be enough for you to do everything, so instead of wasting it on things that you don't really enjoy or won't help you, in my opinion is useless. From what I've seen in your videos I can say that you definitely know how to spend your time well. Wish you only the best amigo 🙂

This sacrification happens everywhere and to everyone who wants to succeed or at least follow his dream.I am a student at university and i face difficulties all the time. And i am not sure if my effort is worth it. But i keep trying again and again and even when i fail to pass a test, i will take it again until i pass it.Life is hard and thats a statement. And definitely follow our dreams is a huge risk. But at least if we try our best we will be mentally relaxed and feel good with ourselves.Keep trying guys, never surrender

Keep going chap and working hard, exhaust all your opportunities in football and then you can enjoy all that other stuff when you've went as far as you can go. I hope that's not for a while though and you're playing for a good while yet. Your family are super cool and are clearly very proud of you and appreciate your hard work and sacrifices.

I took martial arts. I sacrificed that
I live with my 86 year old great grandma. I had to sacrifice most of my time I spend helping her to train.
    I sacrifice socializing with friends
I sacrifice going to most family gatherings
I have a job from the morning to the afternoon. I only have this job for money to do combines and showcases. Traveling the world.
Is sacrifice worth it? Hell yeah it is

I get you man. For the last 3 years I lived on my own in England. Learned so much, gained so much- but also simply missed so much. Away from family hardly seeing them. Been together now with my girlfriend for a little over 6 years and having been away from her for literally half of them. All I can say is as long as you keep perspective of your goal and you want it, you’ll get it. Some more graft now and in a few years you’ll have your dream and the retirement and life you deserve. All will be well bro.

You brought me to tears with this moving talk, Matt!
I'm19, majoring in energy engineering and currently playing LB for the D1 football team of National Chen-Kung University, Taiwan.
Although playing football is my lifelong passion, I know I'm not professional material and competing in college-level football would probably be the furthest I'll go.
I just wanna tell you that you've motivated me so much not only in football but also in having the courage and determination to pursue my dreams. My dream is to become an aeronautics engineer, and I'll keep working towards this goal until it becomes reality.

This comment really has closely related to me ever since I watched Matt, I played for my community college for 2 years and it is the last time I take football seriously because my future family will rely on my paycheck with degree and not football, I just graduated with my associates degree and will transfer to university studying mechanical engineering, as you get older you have to think of what will pay off more for you and your family and so far for me football won't do well therefore I focus on study, keep it up I wish you best😃

I know it might sound like I'm giving up on my dream (maybe to some extent I am), but you have to understand that my chance of succeeding in football isn't significant. I know my level. Furthermore, football isn't my only dream! I too am proficient in academic studies, so that is what I'll continue to pursue. I dunno which country you're at, but here in Taiwan, we don't have a professional football league. It's frustrating how so many players with potential don't get to shine because of this.

I know how you feel, im training to be a professional tennis player and have sort of moved on to part time coaching and part time playing, it is really hard to succeed, there is so much one has to sacrifice, going out to have fun, eat crap, mostly i just stay home and the tennis court that is it, and now with coaching i spend even more time on the courts to earn money to play tournaments, and because of that i dont have enough rest and training to up my game to prepare for matches. The sports life is a tough life!!
