Man, it's so dope to see other professional athletes with a UA-cam channel. I'm a basketball player and I really enjoyed this video. During my off season, I often train with soccer teams because, it's different than being on the court all year long and you guys are in PHENOMENAL shape!

for cleats if you want to break them in quick, stuff them in with socks and leave em there until you use them, i do that with every pair i buy and when i first wear them they’re like 75% broken in

Matt - If you could have Mimi video you / other players during scrimmages at the trial that would be cool. Not sure if that is authorized though or she'll be available but that would be cool to see some of the game play during. Either way will be cool to hear about the trial.

@@JfaJosephR9 Nah bro u didnt get me, Im talking about targeting these small muscles directly, I know they grow strong with these exercises but the leg over all develops with these exercises, I was asking about the exercise like Glute medicine ball Squeezes and all which specifically target these small muscles separately.

This is awesome, after turning 28 my body started breaking down because I never focused on smaller, stabilizing muscle groups. I've been out for almost 11 months with a herniated disc, and will try this as soon as I can exercise again. Coming back from this will be very tough mentally, at almost 30 years old I am hopeful to play again, alas not at an elite level.
I am 40, and come back from 3 torn ligaments in 1 knee. Smoked 26 years, 8 years not playing, lost 20 stone and have got back to fitness to play low spanish league football. So no excuses ;) Good luck

Hey Sheldon much respect with the work you are putting in to master your craft. I was just wondering if you had any tips when trying out for a team in the US. Im no athlete but a good friend of mine who has had a career playing goalie in the Korean league both 1st and 2nd division has been recently scouted by a team for the ULS?(Im assuming its the 2nd leg of MLS)out in Reno, Nevada. Hes going to be flying out in a couple of weeks for a try out. As far as I know my friend doesnt speak English well so Im thinking theres going to be a slight language barrier but other than that is there anything he might need to know or be prepared for to help him leave a good impression not just inside the pitch with the tryouts but outside as well. Thanks in advance!

Quick question: Do you feel more comfortable being much more involved in the professional arena with more opportunities than you did a year ago when you were struggling with your injury and in New Zealand? Or is it the same amount of stress?
My coach wants us to do 35 seconds sprint 35 rest for 15 times. I’ve tried it a few times now and I’m starting to consider if it’s even possible.

Use the hot-water trick if you have to. Definitely want to make sure you have a solid 2 pairs of boots ready as you already know. Boots aren’t cheap of course in case the hot-water trick isn’t good for the durability of the boots, but if that would be the difference between being successful in the trial versus not, then do it. 💪🏼

I swear professional clubs overlook the mental health of players, their work ethic and how far they are willing to go to develop and evolve their game. For example, Ousmane Dembele, Mesut Ozil, great players, i like both of them a lot, but they rely mostly on raw talent which is through the roof and elite but still, its just one part of you as a player. You need to work on yourself all the time, physicaly, mentally, tactically.. Matt doesnt have the raw talent of the two, but his strenght is in his will. GOOD LUCK MATT!

You’re extremely naive if you think Dembele and Ozil are where they’re at because of their raw talent. You don’t just magically become as good as them withoututting in an extreme amount of hard work. Also, do you know either of them personally? No... So there’s no way for you to know how hard they work

@@jakegoodman2392 His weak foot, tactical instability, work rate on the pitch, overall inconsistency and his body language leads me to think that Mesut isnt putting in enough work to keep up with the elite opposition he is facing every couple of days. He was a superstar in Madrid and now he is warming the bench at Arsenal, how is that? He didnt work on his weaknesses enough, he couldnt adapt to a new coach and that's his problem. Dembele has a video game addiction that almost made Barca sell him, he had other psychological problems and I think someone who was paid 100mil $ should concentrate more on his job rather than playing games the whole night prior to a training. And yes, one of my friends played with Mesut in Bremen and knows him really well.
If you read the f2 freestylers book you would know that during a interview Ozil said from age ten he practiced 8 hrs a day. Stop talking about things you have no idea abt.

here’s a really good cardio workout that my lacrosse coach used to make us do until the whole team was pretty much dying: figure 8’s.
you start in one of the corners of the field, and do a full sprint up the sideline. when you reach halfway up the field, breakdown to a jog and jog across to the other side of the field, then sprint up the other sideline, and run in a figure eight sprinting the straights and jogging when you go across. do 3-5 of these and you will *definitely* be feeling it.
The cardio session is no joke...
