I feel ya buddy. I tried mirtazapine too for my anxiety but it was making my apathetic and tired. Im on desvenlafaxine, similar to venlafaxine and it changed my life. Venlafaxine is definitely more powerful than mirtazapine. Mirtazapine is mostly an histamine. If you really need to push up ur energy levels and less anxiety venlafaxine is great. Good luck
Hello and best regards. How do you feel now? Do you still use the same combination and milligram of drugs and do you have any side effects such as restless legs and a constant need to move? I have severe recurrent depression without psychotic symptoms (F33.2). The doctor prescribed mirtazapine 30 mg/day and venlafaxine 150 mg. I have a slight fear of possible side effects such as dissociation, serotonin syndrome or (hypo)mania. Thank you
Sounds good bro. Heard only good things about California rocket fuel. Please just remember, you might feel a lot worse before you start feeling better. But you will get better eventually. I had a really rough time withdrawing CT from mirtazapine and starting fluoxetine. But definitely feeling a lot better nearly 8 weeks later. Let us know how you get on!
Yo good luck man, I've just started 75mg venlafaxine on my existing 45mg mirtazapine hoping it will pull me out of the fucked up funk I'm in. How's it going for you? Please take care of yourself mate!
Thank you for the video. I have just started taking mirtazapine and feel groggy the next day. Is this a side effect that will pass in the future ? thanks George
I think the initial grogginess does pass although I do still feel quite sedated and not as sharp. I find myself dropping things more and bumping into stuff on a morning.
I didn’t end up taking the venlafaxine due to concerns it would decrease my appetite + I wasn’t too keen on possible blood pressure changes and bad withdrawal if it didn’t work or made me worse etc.
Hopefully helps for you buddy I tried it before (panic disorder) never really done much waiting to speak to the mental health people been waiting about 5 weeks now🙃
Hey man I wish you the best with this new medication. I wasn’t a big fan of this one tbh. I had to stop it due to side effects. Please be careful with taking this. I’ve tried it twice at different points in my life and each time it had a negative effect on me. My dp/dr was absolute hell on it. And I know you have the same thing as me so just monitor your symptoms man. I really really hope this works and helps you feel better
What type of symptoms you faced during using this combination. Please help me with your experience too because i am a student and also taking this combination of mirtazapine and venlafaxine and facing some problems like difficulty in analyzing things or low thinking capabilities. What are you using now plz let me know
*Sigh* This “medication” whirlwind is the exact thing that landed me in hell. At some point I would advise stopping trying different drugs. I would like you to look up PSSD on the internet. Just make informed and wise decisions. Your shitchiatrist probably didn’t tell you about that risk.
I’m already in hell so I’m not too worried. Like I said in the video it might backfire but it’s a risk I’m willing to take. I don’t just blindly follow the psychiatrists, I know most of them aren’t very forthcoming about the potential risks. I’ve spent quite a lot of hours on online forms researching most antidepressant’s and I’m very familiar with PSSD. I’ve went 22 years without having sex anyway and frankly being severely depressed and dissociated has a way of taking the pleasure out of that stuff so it doesn’t worry me.
Unfortunately, giving up on medication doesn't work for most of us over the long haul, even though there are often years of trials and tribulations with them. I believe that cognitive behaviour therapy and meditation etc. can be helpfu,l but your mind has to be in a pretty good place to put those things into the rotation. Just my opinion.

What if both are taken in combination before going to bed?

I hope you feel better soon, even if it means trying something else :)

I haven’t started the Venlafaxine yet, I’m planning on seeing how the next couple of months go before starting.
I hope the Venlafaxine helps you :)
