This episode felt like the writers were using it as an opportunity to bring out Lesson Zero Twilight one last time before the finale.

This episode was very interesting in my opinion because it focuses on trivia games, which are very fun depending on what the questions are based on (like Disney, video games, anime, etc). I didn’t get too annoyed with Twilight here because I can get a little competitive as well. Still, I didn’t appreciate the way she was treating Pinkie in her desperate attempts to get ahead in the game. Aside from her actions, I did enjoy the number of crazy expressions in this episode. Overall, I did have a good time with this one. Good reaction, an I’m excited to the next one too!
Eyyy this episode was a lot of fun, despite Twilight and some of the other ponies getting a little cruel in their attempts to win. At least it was done in a funny way. Looking forward to seeing your reaction! xD
The only time it went over the line for me was purposely getting Pinkie disqualified. That was easily the most selfish and petty thing I've ever seen from her.
@@fusionomni305 It was and that was the point. Twilight was justified feeling frustrated and left in this hopeless state of mind when Pinkie was being a detriment (unfortunately she was) to her milestone and dedicated goal of winning one of her favorite and passionate activities for the third time in a row, and breaking a record. Twilight's action were supposed to be rude and seem mean, but putting everything together, it makes sense that she would take a bit of a dark turn in a desperate attempt to succeed in her goal, while yet ignorant to the idea that she shouldn't let this thing put a strain on not only her, but her friendships as well. I really like this, because it exemplifies the realism that it doesn't matter how much you've "learned" over years as time goes by, you're still never too old to keep growing and learning new things from the mistakes you'll make and I think they handled it pretty well here. I think it's perfectly OK for any character (or hell any person) to be "unlike" themselves as long as there is a solid reason depending on the circumstances for them to act the way they're doing, regardless if you like it or not. Not too many people realize something like this, but oh well.
@@linkonar7823 I think you misunderstood me. I wouldn't argue that this was out of character for her. I'd say it's plausible. By "over the line" , I didn't mean over the line of being too mean for her character. I meant over the line in what I am able to watch without being too put off. It was just painful to see her act like that.

This was a really great episode. Surely, Twilight's gonna need some ice packs for her face after the game. But I could've never guessed that ships would make a reference! AppleDash and TwiPie shippers, here you go
I'm pretty certain the Burger joint is still there, it is just more like a bar than a fast-food restaurant, and therefor available for events, like stand-up comedy nights and Trivia Trot.

If Sunburst wants to keep his procentage of good answers up, he simply shouldn't answer, you can't answer incorrectly if you don't try, and he made it pretty clear, that that's his main goal.

Does anyone else think that Pinkie is Twilight’s stumbling block/polar opposite? Similar to Rainbow and Rarity in The End In Friend. From the beginning Pinkie has thrown Twilight off. She was the first of the mane six that Twilight said hello to and Pinkie gasped, jumped up and ran away causing Twi to become even more unsure about Celestia’s request to make friends. Twilight then tried to scientifically study Pinkie. Pinkie is also the pony that Twilight snapped at in the movie.

Overall, this was a really entertaining episode - despite its basic moral. I know some fans have a problem with it because of the way Twilight was acting. And I'll admit, I nearly hated her as much as Dash in the last episode. But unlike that story, this one has a lot more re-watch value for me. Like I said, there were too many weird and unusual faces to count, and the interactivity was brilliant. I wish there could've been more questions relating to past episodes - that would've been perfect for fans to test their knowledge of the past 9 seasons. Furthermore, I think the reason they pushed Twilight to Lesson Zero levels of crazy is because it's the last time they'll get to do so. The next episode is a real game-changer. You'll see.

24:20 to 24:30 lol I totally agree with you, it's likely just a crappy location in Ponyville and the places just cannot seem to last in that building. Back when I lived in Orlando FL, there was a place like that in a shopping center, the corner shop in the center... Nothing would ever last there, which was a total shame because it once housed a really good Chinese food place and before that a good pizza place. Both never lasted long... So location, location and location.
This ep, and the one after, are what made me really get at peace with the show ending. Becuase this ep was just so, damn, FUN! Just ridiculous, no-stakes, insane fun. But, it's getting so hard to push the characters to these over the top breakdowns, they've grown to the point, doing so gets a lot of pushback and can feel off. The characters have mostly reached the point where they are supposed to be too stable and mature for things like this to happen, no matter how damn hilarious it is.
I laughed so hard when they threw out all the shipping names! "Team AppleDash is unstoppable!" Which isn't totally wrong. Highest search result on derpi. XD
It almost seems like the studio has RariJack and TwiPie as their favorite ships.
And I believe that Sunburst wasn't too obsessed about winning, but did play it in that way to try and make Twilight see her error. I know, it looked like he genuinely did accidentally ask about a fact check, but maybe he's a pretty good actor.

33:50 The problem with that is that Pinkie IS selfish in that actions (NOT EVIL, just a little selfish) because in that same episode she react all over the top to make Cranky be her friend (She REALLY can't take it when he refuses) by doing pretty crazy stuff, and it only end the way it did because of convenience. She is a good per...pony, but the cheering on others is her pasion just like Dash is with wining or Twilight is with order, and all of them can be good things, but they can become easily flaws just as bad as Twiligh now, i think she work later on to be more considerate with others but is a weird trowback to this personality quirk of her.

I like Twilight acting like this here. It works because it's a trivial matter (the episode title is brilliant), she's not freaking out about something serious, it's just a game she's obsessed with.
She has already proven she can calmly deal with real problems, she learned by experience, but she lowers her guard when it's just a game. It shows that she still have the same personality, even though she has grown. To be fair this message become clearer after watching the next episode, The Summer Sun Setback. This message only makes sense because we're in the last season.
Even the damage caused by her mistakes were minimal, all it did was ruining the fun for a few people, mostly for herself.
Lesson Zero 2.0, Twili-Nanas, whatever you want to call it.
doesn't matter to me, since for me, Twilight here was just extremely unlikeable. getting obsessed with winning is one thing, leaving one of your closest friends in the dust just for the chance of having a better partner is another one. her "realization" moment might as well not have happened if Sunburst didn't move as plot demanded and she got a view on Pinky.
By the way, there is a new reactor on youtube calle "PonyBro I Guess" he needs some support, LaDix did it and it would be cool if he could get some more viewer since most of great reactors lefted after season 5-6. Its always great to have some new reactors in the brony community
