How to straighten up Hedges...
Вставка

- Another visit to the retirement home. The Hedges are in a terrible shape ( literally)...I will say its not the ideal time to prune Lonicera BUT I cannot carry on with the maintenance through the year with them looking like this. SO they are getting straightened. I feel much better looking at them after they are cut...looking forward to doing them all. Sometimes, bold decisions and actions are needed. You definitely made the right move with this. Had to be done. It will bounce back.
💯👌....we can't be 100% confident .. but 98% is good enough 😉
Got to be done! 👊🏻👊🏻
@@jefffleet5724 👍👊😊
One man's wonky hedge is another man's artistic topiary 😉
😄😄 agreed....just not mine 😬
@@LHLgardenservices it certainly looked a lot better after you sorted it out!
@@JardinFoto 😊🙏....stay tuned
Doing a fantastic job you're right to cut the hedge back it badly needed it
Thank you Sheila 😊
My father has been a gardener here in central California for 45 years. As a kid, my brothers and I would occasionally work with him. Last week he asked me to help him top some shrubs. As a 50 year old, I’d forgotten how much work it takes to make it look good. Satisfying though. I appreciate your work Lee.
Thanks buddy😊...45 yrs...same as me 👍 thanks for watching and kind words
Definitely the correct decision , excellent job .
😊👍👌
Hedges look so much better when they are straight keep up the good work
💯👍 thank you
I do think a bit of formality to the hedges in that setting with the greenhouse, etc, makes it look better. Nicely done
Yes agreed....could probably have Picasso shrubs in the right setting...but not here 😉
@@LHLgardenservices oy don't mock garden design principles 😂😂 All shrubs are Picasso shrubs . Beauty is in the eye of the beholder 😂😂
It's a very wobbly hedge, it will do so much better now.
💯👌
Shaping up Nicely With the LHL touch...
Damn right 😉
I love a nice straight hedge…..I agree with your thought process
😊👍🙏
Hi lee that looks alot better 👍haven’t seen many videos lately have you been to busye you were always putting videos up I do miss them. Is this a new customer you just taken on. Looking forward to the new one 👍
Cheers😊..this is the 5th video in 2 weeks
That’s better👍🏻 it already looks a lot neater. Can’t wait to see this one progress.
Cheers Keith 😊 stay tuned 👀😉
Great work again Lee. I'm not brave enough for decisions like those hedges. A pleasure to watch as always.
🙏😊🙏 cheers pal
When I saw those wonky hedges the first time, I wondered how long it would be before you lost patience and cut them straight. I would've thought now would actually be a good time to shape them, coming into spring and the annual growth surge - they'll be looking great before you know it. That campus is a big job to stay on top of for one person, best of luck!
Thank you Tris 😊 late summer fot the Nitida...but you know me ...im a rebel 😉
Owww Hedge Trimming!! my favourite thing, had to watch video before i could have my tea!!! I knew you wouldnt be able to leave those hedges much longer 🤣😂😜
You know me so well ✂️😅
Real gardeners don't eat 😁
@@TheDrum2010 😅😅 no time to eat 🤷♂️
😀@@LHLgardenservices
The retirement block hedges will look beautiful once you’ve finished Lee. By the looks of it, with the hedges bowing over like that, they’d collapse eventually. With you taking them right back and straightening them up, they’ll have a much better chance and looking like properly maintained hedges, under your maintenance. Great work and many thanks for sharing with us 👍👍👍
Thank you for your kind words as always 🙏 😊
Sooooo much better Lee👍👍👍👍
Thank you 😊 🙏
Excellent! Hedges look perfect!👏👏👏🤩👍😊🥇
Thank you 😊...not quite excellent yet....tops need doing 😉😆
I think you do some fantastic videos lately. It would be interested if you would do one on how you price up your residential sites..
Thank you Neil 😊...truth is....im not hiding anything....I struggle with prices exactly the same as everyone else..even after 45years 😬
Top job lee keep the good work up 😎👍
Thank you Michael 😊
Good job, Like your yellow handled shovel, very useful.
Cheers pal....yeah handy for anything light 👍
Love how you talked yourself into trimming that hedge. So glad you did. Any wonder it was a mess if they used the rusty cutters you found. Having the right tools and expertise makes all the difference 🎉 Your friend in Queensland ❤
😄😄 I do it all the time. .im the only person who listens to me 😆#listentolee
Clint Eastwood once sang a song called I talked to the trees .
Having heard it , all I can say is that he might have been a good actor , but his singing voice left a lot to be desired 😮 .
You don't sing as well , do you ?
@xxxxxxxx3476 I do actually.............BADLY 😆
@@LHLgardenservices
Perhaps that's why I heard the birds in the background .
Probably trying to drown you out .
@@xxxxxxxx3476 😊
Amazing work, hedges look great !!!!!
Thank you Carol 😊...stay tuned 👍
A fine job ,Lee. 👌
Cheers Jason 😊
Hi Lee,
Good educational video your spot on in my opinion , you were right to get it in-line...It certainly needed it,when Spring comes bet you will have that all under control, and to another level.
You instinctively know the right choice...
Looking forward to seeing you tackle those Garden beds....
Its improved already....
Take care...
Lee....😊
Thanks Lee as always nice words 🙏...as you know on my tidy up it was so windy I couldn't get all the leaves out the beds ...would have liked my Billy goat there but trailer is full with ride on🙈...oh well ill get it sorted 😄 stay tuned buddy 👍
I will look forward to seeing those Garden beds develop,it's going to look really good, your welcome like you said it can wait for another day but I do know what you mean...
You have made a big difference already, im not saying the other Gardener was no good, his work was neat as you would expect ,but your level of knowledge is on another level from your average trained Gardener..
Your tools are outstanding, it shows you certainly need them...
Lee
Neat and tidy Lee. Nice one Lee.
😉👍👊
Thanks for video. Enjoyed content
Cheers Dave thanks for watching 👍
how long will take for the trimmed hedge to come back back to green , many thanks for showing this lee , reshaping hedges scare me lol but thanks again for showing this
Hard to say. ..weather dictates.....prob about 2 months 🤞
Hi Lee, been watching your channel for years now so I know you don't talk money, but I wondered how you charge for a contract like that? Day rate, monthly budget? You work a long day, that's for sure.
Yes cut that hedge, I definitely would x
Yep..on it 😉
Hm.. We got about 20m of Liguster hedges (If that is a thing/name in English) Prime time to early prune is late March here in southern Sweden. V-shape and be somewhat harsh.. :)
👍
Now that shrub is more in line with what I usually arrive to when someone calls me to do gardening. And now you know why my pruner is always broken..
😆😆🙈
Buy Stihl, buy once, buy cheap buy thrice 😂😂😂
@@TheDrum2010 you say that and then the stihl breaks too on those bastard thick abandoned ass shrubs
They'd bother me as well.
😊👍👌
Good grief - even those secateurs must have died of shame!
😅😅😅✂️
Hi do not think battery hedge trimmer would have cut that
I wouldn't like to try 😬
How often do you sharpen your KM 145's Lee ?
I don't sharpen anything as often as I should🙈...full of intentions but life gets in the way
@@LHLgardenservices
Hence the sawing motion ? 😂
Nice job though 👍
@@TheDrum2010 💯😆
what is the best time to do that job?
Late summer 👍
I prune for a living...plants adapt far better then humans
💯👊😊
Too much stress is not good for your cutters or people
Just aswell there wasn't any 👍
Nothing worse than wonky hedges
What about wonky gardeners 😅
@xxxxxxxx3476 depends what side the wonkyness is, doesn't it lol
😅😅👍
@@xxxxxxxx3476 🙈😅😅
wow that hedge looks morbidly obese.
True story 😆
Hedges look brilliant, Lee. Great job!
Cheers buddy😊...hope you mean AFTER I've cut them 😅😅
@@LHLgardenservices Of course! Not a lot of "gardeners" would even think about levelling them which is evident before you cut them... however, this is what sets you apart from the rest and why you're the OG! 😉 Looking forward to seeing what else you do with this place.
@SHM-Garden-Services 😅😅....cheers Scott....yeah really looking forward to it myself 👍 stay tuned
