Foreign investments - for me the most important thing that a president can do about, especially in manufacturing. Singapore relied on foreign investments. China's progress can be attributed to embracing capitalism, instead of Mao Tse tung's strict socialism, and hence, attracted foreign investments. This is specifically the reason for BBM foreign travels. Now, give us the results.
Encouraging investors to invest in a country is a good move. However, BBM should also focus on how he can attract them to invest. I don’t see any solid direction/ plan from the current gov’t on how to attract foreign investors. We can always say that we have a lot of hard working people but then that’s not the only area investors are focusing on, reading and comprehension na nga lang, we are falling behind. Maybe a solid plan to strengthen the education sector might be a good start, and so on and so forth.
