- A 100% overlap rear impact of a 2004 Jeep Liberty to assess the effectiveness of the Towing Hitch used for the recall on Jeep Liberty and Grand Cherokee vehicles.
This test, there was no hitch installed and there was excessive fuel leakage observed.
Wow there's like rally no damage to the Jeep
Im sure if you look underneath the rails are pushed in and im sure the suspension got hit somewhere under there.
Oh wow there is a considerable difference. Even though the Neon underrode the Liberty in both crashes the hitch takes the brunt of the impact! I've been putting off the recall fix for some time now thinking there wouldn't be a difference but imma schedule that now! Thanks for uploading!
Sure thing! It's a good idea to have that recall completed. Besides, having a trailer hitch is rather convenient.
Bad Drivers of Albuquerque i know right thats what im saying 😆
What was the closing speed?
I had a 95 Neon, I got 375k miles out it with no major repairs. I got 50mpg on the Highway, it wasn't the greatest car but it was still miles better than the Corolla or the Sentra at the time.
The dodge neon is the worst car
Crash test Crash test and liberty’s like to make marshmallow out of you
dodge neon is actually a great car, if you had one with a standard transmission they would last a while. I know the neon has been unfairly memed as a piece of junk.
Compare the safety record of the Neon versus the Corolla! The Corolla had 5 times more deaths than the Neon during the same time frame, as bad as the Neon was it still wasn't as poorly made as the Corolla and the Corolla is still the worst compact car in terms of safety.
The Neon was a great little car, it just had some build quality issues. It was released to glowing praise from the automotive press at the time, it was faster than all of its competitors, and was dominant in SCCA Showroom Stock class and Autocross. Unfortunately the issues started showing up and it's reputation took a big hit.
People don't seem to understand physics and car design. The jeep has a rigid frame with no built in crumple zones, and the structure sits nearly a foot higher than where the neon's rigid crash structures are. the hood of the neon is the only area that strikes the jeep and it is not designed to take all the impact, hence it is very weak.
What about the airbag in the moon
Are there any test with the fuel tank skid plate installed instead of the receiver hitch?
They haven't done any other tests except for with and without the hitch.
Okay. Thanks.
