      Do you use exactly 100g or there has a yarn left?

    • @VivCrochets
      @VivCrochets  10 місяців тому +2

      Sorry for the late response! I usually round to the near number so it could be either higher or lower. If you plan to only buy 100g and you run out, you can remove one round off the top!

    This was the very first crochet project that I worked on, and it turned out pretty good thought the sides were a mess. I made this bag about a year ago, and since then, I have massively levelled up my game, and I now do so many advanced crochet projects basically daily, mostly amigurumi and other useful stuff. Now that I've found the video again, I am thinking of reattempting this but sadly I don't have the original bag to compare it to. Over all I have to say a big thank you for teaching me some of the basics and giving me one last push to finally give crocheting a go! I can't even thank you enough you have changed my life. Literally! ❤

    • @VivCrochets
      @VivCrochets  3 роки тому

      Sorry for the late reply! Do you mean that the ends where the straps are began to curve up? If you're using this bag to hold sort of heavy things, you can line it with fabric. But since it's made of a soft material, it will curve like that unless it's lined with something stiff. And if it's too short, you can just keep adding rounds until you get the length you want!

    hi, thank you so much for the tutorial, really easy to follow instructions and straight to the point!! can i just ask, when we’re halfway through a round and reach the end of the row, what exactly do we do? are we supposed to slip stitch and chain 1 as well or work half double crochets around it?

    • @VivCrochets
      @VivCrochets  3 роки тому +5

      You just keep going! You only slip stitch and chain 1 at one point in each round

      @@VivCrochets So we double crochet both sides, but slip stitch in only one. Right?

    • @shinelikeastar997
      @shinelikeastar997 3 роки тому

      @@VivCrochets Thank you for your reply. However, just to make sure, we do that only in round 1. The rest of the rounds until we finish should have only one side with double crochet and a slip stitch. Correct?

    • @VivCrochets
      @VivCrochets  3 роки тому +1

      Not exactly! We’re working in a sort of spiral. So once you finish one round (an entire circle) you slip stitch, and start the next round. Next round you work all the way around in a circle again

    Hi! Been working on this project and I'm having a bit of trouble with it...the angle on one end of the bag is more steeper than the other end. Trying to figure out whats going wrong but I was wondering: how many stiches are you supposed to have once you've completed the second round? I think that'll help me out.

    • @VivCrochets
      @VivCrochets  3 роки тому

      Hello! Yes, it sounds like you’re increasing. It can really helpful to mark where your first stitch is! So after you chain, do your first half double crochet, then put a marker (I use a bobby pin) in the V of that first stitch. At the end of the round, count your stitches. When it’s the same number as your first round, slip stitch into that V with the stitch marker and do your first stitch into that same V and move your stitch marker

      Not sure why, was it straight when the bag was getting wider? You might have been sometimes half double crocheting into your slip stitch from the round before
