I gotta admit I was annoyed at Fdev fixing this ..... cos the ended one of the funniest engineering skits I've seen! Still appreciated you bringing closure to the story!
@@prisonerofthehighway1059the place that sells fujin tea was somehow simultaneously in boom AND infrastructure failure this last week, and an engineer needs 50 of those to unlock. So there were players going there expecting the like 12 or whatever max you can buy during boom, and instead getting *3* per trip. For a 50 requirement. Would probably be a pretty funny skit.
An unlocking the engineers walkthrough series would probably have good traction at the moment. A bunch of people are gonna be trying it out after the rework. Be a good opportunity to link to your other videos since they all require certain skills to unlock.
Let me tell you this I spend 6 hours a day unlocking these guys since I m new it took me 2 WHOLE WEEKS! I almost lost my mind going back and forth upgrading there class to 3-4 to only realised there is alot more than that it's insane
Manufactured was already the easiest, now it's just trivial, not even worth the time to stop to gather debris after killing pirates, it's easier to just go to HGE, Raw didn't change but other than having to fly out 1000ly to the shards and shoot them with missiles and scoop them with limpets it's pretty easy to fill up...or go to crashed anaconda and shoot the cargo racks. Encoded is the boring/hard one, even if you don't need to relog at jameson's crash site anymore, you still need to do a million round trip to the mats trader to fill up everything :( I think they forgot to increase the chances to get mats from ship scans and wake scans, and drop amount from encoded emissions beacons and mega ship hacking :(
That was entertaining as always! Since RNG is always a bitch, I am glad it is gone. Still room for improvement for sure. Exactly WHY is the workshop so limited and those stupid experimental effects are prime for the local engineer only? BECAUSE, reasons ;D
This is funny, I always wondered why the heck you can only pin one blueprint per engineer. I think Fdev wanted one more minigame where you need to organize your blueprints in a way that you need to set priorities and avoid duplicates
It wasn't gambling, you always got the result and same result in the end, the original engineering from a few years ago was gambling and you got random special better results
It was gambling - you didn't know the return you were going to get on your spend. I.e., if I bring enough materials for 6 spins, that might be enough to complete the grade or it might not, only based on a random chance that's out of my control.
Well Said, I love that they removed the randomness and made some mats easier to find, but the worst part of engineering is not the mats gathering, it's having to visit every engineer's base every damn time, Remote workshops should allow all blueprints to be applied even experimental, to keep the "pin" mechanic they could just make all remote workshop blueprints require twice the rolls unless it's pinned than it's the same as at the engineer's base. You want the discount, go to the engineer's base, you're in a hurry, use more mats to not have to travel to 5 or 6 engineers...
Loved the whole series... This is EXACTLY the reason why I stopped playing... A lot of things in the game is ridiculous, engineering is the biggest factor...
It's worth getting back into. Frontier is doing some great things this year - new ships, improvements like this, and more to come. Give it another chance!
I just got to Selene Jean to unlock her and...I have to mine and process 500 tons of ore. I'm glad materials are easier now, but engineers and unlocking them is still stupid as hell. I can't fathom doing all of them. FDev need to get rid of engineers completely, and just make them a faction you can do missions for, and use them at any station.
I laughed so much watching these 4 parts videos.. 😄 But I have a question: do these newly introduced changes (no more RNG during upgrade and more engineered materials found in missions/crash sites/etc.) apply to the console version of the game (I play on XBOX)?
Has FDev taken things too far by making the process of upgrading waay too easy now (finding mats and the upgrade process)? I love the game though not played it for a wee while. Will need to check this out. It was certainly waay too random before, costing waay too many mat runs as a result.
It probably would've been a better idea to tweak it a little bit at a time to find a sweet spot where it's still fun to get engineering materials, but they're much too late to doing that IMO. So this was the best option they had right now.
Referring to pitch meetings is tight!
Yay! Someone else got the reference!

Oh, he can keep going. Some of the errands required to unlock them are definitely skit worthy.

Hmmmm...
Loved the pitch meeting reference haha these are great :D
YES!!! I was wondering if anyone would catch that!
Haha i was like heeeey wait a minute 😂
Yep, got it allright chuckled out loud. It's well placed in the dialogue, fits really well. Good job mate. 👍😊

That's a great idea! You're assuming of course that I've unlocked all the engineers! 😅
@@Mile13Gaming PLEAESE DO THIS im trying to unlock engineers currently and its confusing with only old or text guides

Of all the ways they could've explained some of this stuff in lore, it's amusing that they chose exactly none of them. Great work on this skit!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love the changes FDEV did and love your videos on it even more. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to maybe an unlocking video as well.
Awesome, thank you!
no. why? because.
Raw materials is still mostly a bitch but its a lot better at least as there is missions now

That's exactly how I felt after the new update, well done :)
Thanks!
Love it! Good on you to update this!
Me: You cant make this shit fit the lore ;-/
Mile 13 Gaming: Hold my beer.
Me: YOU CANT.. wait... arh shiiiit.
🤣 I do what I can.
😂😂😂 I do like that series of videos nice job🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Thanks so much!
Cool video!
Thanks!
Love it 🤣
Thanks Buur! o7
AWESOME, you pointed me here from a comment on another vid, thanks :) Have to go watch parts 1-3 now.:)
Hope you enjoy!
Nice!😀
Thanks! 😁

Small steps, small steps. 😂
Brilliant 😅
Thank you!
I was wondering how you were going to respond to the recent update. Nicely done!
Thanks! Of course I couldn't leave this update alone. :)
I can finally engineer multiple ships with my schedule and have extra to do some FAFO builds. I love it. And SCO FSD is the shit. So much fun.
SCO is a game-changer! Totally agree!

great job so funny
nice and about it
I dont mind the no exp affect at remote workshops. But I do wish we could pin 1 bleuprint per module per engineer.
Yup, agree. I figure once you've gotten G5 on a module, you've earned that privilege, right?
Haha that's so accurate! Brilliant!
Thanks! :)

Consoles are end of support for live updates, so no. Have been for two years now.
Unfortunately, no. No more upgrades for consoles.😟 Elite's pretty cheap on Steam now, sooo...?
This was funny dude.
Thanks!!

I actually like the balance now. Not EVERY way of getting mats is increased, and I think the number of rolls per grade makes sense.
