As long as your tarpon has the track rails you can set it up towards what you are going to be doing. I only had to cut my 120 for rod holders and used the tracks for the rest.
I do a lot of surf launches here in So Cal,and somedays its mandatory to stow the rods.I wish the rod storage wasn't way in the back.On a bumpy ocean that will be a pain in the ass to get the gear out!!!To bad it's not in the cockpit.Or maybe redesign the front hatch so you could stow rods up to 8' into the hull.The only thing hampering my decision on the atak....

I saw another review that showed the deck flexing when standing in front of the seat. Have you seen this and if so what are your thoughts? I was ready to pull the trigger on this kayak until I saw the review with the deck flexing as much as it was. Thanks!

Ive been thinking about selling all of trailor outboards etc to try something like this . I honestly think i would get more use out of the yak then the boat. That said how much is your setup if you don't mind me asking, also any advice you could give would be appreciated, tight lines thks

Have you ever capsized? Either accidentally or on purpose? I can't imagine the yard sale if you do. I would test it for sure to make sure you can flip that beast back over.

Mount Franklin I bought a smart charger from batteries plus bulbs. It almost looks like jumper cables and you just hook them up to the red and black connectors on the battery
Besides the cost of the yak the rest of the setup probably would run you around another $1,000. There are cheaper options for yaks but you do get what you pay for when it comes to a solid platform to fish from.

I use yak grips on my Atak 14 handles. Just unscrew handles and slide on a set of yak grips, very comfortable and durable.

RJ&JR RAILS g scale Solenske the kayak was 1600 minus everything that I put on it. They also have the 120 which is 2 feet shorter.
