Thanks I needed all the info just purchased this kayak
It was great running into you this summer. I took your advice and purchased a SS127. Right now I’m just using a pod mounted water snake trolling motor but will be getting a bixpy as soon as they become available. I really like the stability of the 127. I’m 5’ 8 “ and 275 lbs and have no problems standing up ( in calm water) and the seat is much better on my old back ! Thanks for all the tips, and keep up the great videos !
Nice boat. I have a feel free lure 13.5 that fairly stock. It’s a good boat but hindsight it probably a little too big. Always like to see how people set up their boats. Thanks and be safe!!!
Man! That is a hot setup!
Thanks!
Love my Bonafide but really wish they would make some sort of peddle system for it to fit where the dry box is!
Xi3 is a beautiful thing
Was going to get a pedal until I found this kayak
Have you had issues with the landing gear bending to one side when you are rolling the yak with all your gear on there?
I have the same Kayak #23, Black Pack, Perch Pads Gear Track, Cup holder, Anchor Wizard, Rudder, Same Rod Holders, PFD, Line Cutter on PFD.......My next install will be the Boonedox.
Nice! Yeah the boonedox have been a life saver
Good job
Nice setup. You mentioned you installed an attachment for you measuring board. What kind? Your black box is setup very much like mine otherwise, thank in advance.
What’s that holding your park n pole?
So I'm looking to pull the trigger on a new kayak. Coming from a tarpon 120 I immediately gravitated towards the ATAK 140 as my next boat. After seeing this boat though I'm stuck! Can anyone give details as to what makes each boat better or worse than the other? I'm under 200# and want something versatile and stable while standing. TY in advance!
So glad I found your channel. I’m in NoVA and thinking about buying the same kayak from PaddleVA. Can you please tell me more about your fish finder/setup? Which is it? Which battery? Can you please do a detailed look at your electronics setup? I’d also love to see an update with your trolling motor, if you don’t mind. Thank you so much! Sincerely, Rich
Absolutely shoot me an email and I will get all that for you. Afdougherty33@gmail.com
On the Boondox landing gear...is it possible to install straight into the rail system the SS127?
I believe you can but I would not recommend it because the rail system will start to pull up from the kayak so I would put it through the kayak just to be safe
Should mount a trolling motor on the front. The boondocks should be closer to your seat with metal plates underneath to keep the kayak from cracking from the strain. Trolling motor with spot lock then you can drop the anchoring system.
Already ordered the motorguide x13 with spot lock should have it soon
Awesome setup and video. Is the transducer recessed? And does the rudder come with the kayak? Thanks
Thanks. the transducer is just a little bit below the bottom of the kayak through that opening. The rudder did not come with the kayak have to buy that after if you want.
Love these kayaks purchasing one tomorrow! Just a random question, what’s your weight and how does that thing hold you because I’m a bigger guy and finding a nice stable kayak isn’t the easiest thing ever
I am about 210 and it has never been a problem for me
Will the landing gear void the warranty? I like the way it looks and
It’s convenient. I just don’t want
to risk voiding the warranty.
I believe it did but don't know for sure
Thin Blue Line!!!
What knife is that on your PFD?
not sure exactly what it is. got it as a gift
Garmin what?
Yo what part of va are you in. I’m in The Richmond area
VA Beach
Where did you get the Garmin set up/attachment?
I got my Garmin from field and stream and the attachments or the arm I have it on is just a 1in ball mount for my particular fish finder
Nice set up ! Now that you have a couple of years with the ss127 , do you still love it ? The only negative thing that I hear is the tracking and when you stop and moves to one side . Are you having those issues ? I am definitely interested in purchasing it ..
I'm new to researching fisbing kayaks. Is this thing stable for a guy like me who's 270lb?
I have the ss117 and same weight slightly unstable but I am able to stand up and cast so this kayak would probably be fine
Great presentation. I had my Boonedox LG too far forward and it caused too much hull flex so I have removed it in favor of a heavy duty Wilderness Systems cart. Have to say I miss that convenience. Appears you avoided that issue by installing the knuckles farther toward the stern. Due to cost and simplicity I opted for the Bixpy jet. Yes it’s slower but nearly half the price of the torpedo and with pole steering can run as shallow as the kayak itself. I use a take off of the Choupique anchoring system which uses anchors at the stern and bow with low profile anchor wizards port and starboard aft and forward of the cockpit. Can replace the stern anchor with a mechanical anchor stick for marsh and shallows. The SS 127 is a fantastic, stable design with an optimal sitting
position.
Nice! Yeah I finally got the torqueedo and absolutely love it. I tried to use the boonedox with all my stuff and it started to push up on the plastic so if I use them now I just use it to move the kayak and then put my stuff on it
It's 12'7 long
Yeah just realized I messed that up sorry lol
@@Hookemupfishing658 no worries mate! I just got my ss127 and I absolutely love it!
the boat is beautiful, it was critically planed and executed to be what it is. pricise and CORRECT...... but that skull and blu line says it all.
if you're gonna wave the camera around like a drunken 3 year old, then choose a higher framerate instead of prioritizing resolution. i feel motion sick..
