Actually I saw a brunch of hating people in the comments, not in the main comment section but the comments on the comments.... if that even makes sense
A little tip... Not sayin u have to do it ur hair looks great but my personal preference is to grab any serum or oil and put them on my fingertips and then unwind and seperate the curl to prevent frizz 😊
Hey guys, sooo I’m Black. Yes, this is my natural hair. Do I find it offensive that she’s white and doing a hairstyle that’s supposedly “for black people” No way! It’s just a hair style. Whoever you are in the comments, black, white, Asian, whatever... Stop hating. It’s JUST hairstyle, I THINK you’ll live.
when there's a race war going on in the comments all because SHE STYLED HER HAIR. yes it's called a Bantu knot. does it matter? no. she's not "stealing our culture" she's styling her hair in a way that makes her feel pretty. I'm sorry for this poor girl who just wanted to make a video showing people how to get pretty curly hair and instead just got hate
+cheyenne howell I don't even know how I got on this video lol but some people are so extra these days, it's a fucking hairstyle. I was born with naturally curly hair and i'm a white male (looks similar to this girls just not as tight) am I stealing culture? There was another ignorant human a few comments down saying you can only have curly hair if you have African DNA, last I checked I was 100% European.
MushroomBuns I did 16 and quick question did it turn out like Chantels and was it’s realllllyyyyy curly? Thank you so much!😂❤️ (just wanna double check) ❤️
Love this video Chantel and I'm sorry some people are coming at your life and fail to NOT know that your father is black. You're poppin either way, do what you want and embrace your African roots
Diana Chan lol 100% mixed doesn't even make sense. Black people as a whole have different facial features complexions and hair textures to the point where there are black people who look biracial and that aren't but technically because of slavery we all are mixed.
Alyssa Kilgore yea I agree slavery did mix up the genetic code. But black IS a very dominant gene and most black people do still have their african traits visible phsyically. But Ofc some dont such as rihanna but its not that common.
@Nick The Great So you're saying I can't curl my hair like this since I'm hispanic, not black? I'm not gonna stop curling my hair just because some people think I want to look like a different race. What's funny is that all you guys pissed off about this shit are the same people that talk about wanting racism to end. But maybe you guys are right. Maybe cultural appropriation is a real problem. Next time I see a black american with braids I will scold them for cultural appropriation. They shouldn't be wearing that if they're not from Africa, AM I RIGHT? It's not their culture.
@Nick The Great Of course some Hispanics are mixed with blacks, but most of them only have a small percentage or nonexistent amount of African DNA, about 4 percent or less. And the majority of them that are tan get their tan skin from their Native American genes, because most Hispanic and Mexican genes are basically made up of Native American and European DNA, but of course that has nothing to do with this. So can I ask you from your point of view, what other than skin color and ancestry do blacks and Africans really have in common? I mean if you ask a random black American what they know about true African culture, I doubt they'll have much to say.
@Nick The Great but if blacks really feel that way about other races wearing curls in their hair then it's fine, as long as they stop straightening their hair and wearing straightened weaves. The hair texture doesn't belong to them. It belongs to whites, asians, indians, and latinos. Just as curly hair does not belong to us. Now does this all seem fair to you? This whole argument is stupid and you know it.
Nick The Great smh it’s a hair style not tarrying to steal culture tahts like saying oh black people stop relaxing ur hair and wearing weaves ur trying to be white it’s HAIR that’s all it is it’s not that deep she’s not doing black face or claiming the hair type as ‘white peoples hair’ r e l a x
Thanks for the memories, my granny used to curl my hair this way. Apparently, in Italy it was the unofficially official way to curl hair at home before the war. she used to do it all the times when she was young, only with less knots, usually 5/6
i dont know why people are in the comments complaining about cultural stuff bc chantel is half black and black ppl use perms and relaxers and straighten their hair and white people aren't calling that cultural appropriation so... chill with the negative energy and let's focus on the positive vibes coming from this great video.
i dislike how so many of you are complaining that she's using bantu knots because she isn't "black" (African American) . There's too much negativity between africans and other ethnicities to be real with everyone . Oh if you talk "black" it's a big deal . for 1 you can't talk like a color, 2 it's talking like you're from the hood .. but anyone could be from the hood. You don't have to African American to be from the hood. But no hate or disrespect to anyone out there . We're ALL humans stop spreading the negative ignorant bullshit! Have a bless and wonderful life to you all. (The reason why I don’t say black is because that’s just wrong and many find it offensive to whoever commented) lmfao
My hair is longer and thicker so I was hesitant to try, but it worked! Only left them in for a couple hours too - gonna try it overnight next time. Huge fan ❤️
RUN ITS PEOPLE SAYING YOU CANT HAVE CURLY HAIR BECAUSE ITS "black" CULTURE!!!! HAIR IS NOT A CULTURE PEOPLE ITS HAIR MAYBE IT ORIGINATED IN ONE CULTURE BUT ITS HONEST TO GOD JUST HAIR. DO IT HOW EVER YOU WANT
Talia Ugbo Maybe 0.0001% of white people do that, a tiny ignorant racist minority, and only in America!! Throwing everyone in a pot and shaming them for wearing certain braids or curls, literally SEGREGATING cultures, will never EVER fix situations where black people are experiencing racism. On the contrary, there needs to be unity. You can only achieve respect through understanding. And you understand once you associate with and learn from a culture. And do you even know how bigoted it is to assume only black people have this type of curls?
I don’t think this cultural appropriation; however, you’re clearly ignorant on the topic. The culture isn’t the hair type, it’s the hairstyle. No one is saying she can’t have curly hair because it black culture because hair type isn’t culture. It’s the cultural hairstyle that they are talking bout. But I do agree the comments are slightly ridiculous.
Miya Hill Maybe it is about the products you use. To get them really defined try doing it to dump hair. You can also use a hair mask and hairspray to let them stay for a longer time. Last but not least make sure you take small sections of hair ,you twist them around around a lot of times and use a small hair bands, bobby pins and clips. Hope they come out perfect!!
Leana G i have 3a hair so i would say more than really wavy hair and I tried it and it worked the same as the girl in the video except I tried it out on one piece and left it in for 30 minutes and it came out the same except I used straws. Sorry for my grammar It’s past curfew and I don’t feel like it
everyones talking about her ethnicity and im just vibin to the 1975 in the background. you look adorable. do what you want to your hair dont listen to what everyone else has to say
I had curly hair but after bleaching it and having to cut off ten inches my curls are gone. I'm glad I found this to help get my hair back into a nice state
U honestly suit tight curls so well! Like some people do it and it doesn't look natural but in comparison to ur skin and ur features u look like u could have curls naturally x
I never review videos but I just had to give feedback on this one. My hair is wavy and thick and this worked extremely well for my hair. This will be my go to hair style from now on. It's easy and beautiful. Thank you for posting this!
Yo, the video is not called Bantu knots because this is not a Bantu knot tutorial, this is a heatless curl tutorial. She says in the description that she used Bantu knots as a technique to curl her hair. Chill a little.
M Cárdenas lmaoooo a white girl trying tell us what this hair style is called...😂😂😂😂😂😂 like we haven't been using Bantu knots to curl our hair without heat....
I'm not even white, I'm mexican. I know that the hairstyle she uses to curl her hair IS actually called Bantu Knots, but she already put that in the description. All I said was that the final hairstyle is not bantu knots, it's just curled hair (that yes, she curled using bantu knots).
Oh my gosh I have been looking for a heatless curly hair tutorial and none of them ever work. Tonight I decided to do your routine for the first time by just using common sense and then I kept on looking on youtube with the little pieces of tied hair on and then I found this !!!!!! Good to know it might actually work, hopefully no bad surprises tomorrow !!
Read the edit!!! Nah sis has some explaining to do... all I ended up with was a matted mess. Edit: sooooo it was down to two things: the way I untangled it (I shoulda done it how she did it but I didn’t watch her do it 😂) also I suggest if you try this, only twist the root of the hair and then wrap the rest around it. Don’t twist the end. This way you get nice curls instead of just long twists
Y’all are acting like black ppl are the only ones with curly hair, she can choose what hairstyle she wants and she’s doing something for us, giving us an amazing tutorial, plus she looks absolutely STUNNING like she makes it look effortless wow❤️and also she is mixed 2nd note: let her do what she wants people
Thank you so much .. i have been searching for curl tutorials like ...... i haven't tested yet but i will comment and tell u the results but i think it will look just like urs because i have the same hair length
Yatzil Leyva omfg it looks so good, but I wish it wasn't so shortttt. my hair is just past my bra, but I did this and it went up above my collar bones, and it took an hour to get out bc my hair is so thick and it tangles so easily😂😭 other than that, it turned out amazing! it looks like my hair is naturally curly, and at my high school today, I got endless compliments on my hair so that felt good😂😊
not that good, my hair got stuck, i needed to cut strands of my hair off and ugh it was a mess. But i think its because i did it too tight and left the knots in for 2 days. Dont let this keep you from doing it tho, i did get some really tight curls. just too tight for my likeing
I use almost all of those products, they are THE BOMB for your hair! The it's a 10 I use everyday and the diamond oil or biosilk I use cuz I have frizzy curly hair. Love this tutorial!
she's not half though fuck. Being black is a privilege. she's 25% black. that's not "black". 50% can be considered black, you can really identify as black (at least if you grow up that way as well)
LOOOVE IT!!! Thank You! I've been wanting to learn how to do something like this I has pretty curls but since I started straightening it it's just blah so I'm going to try it. Everyone is entitled to try all types of hair style. IT depends on each person on their personal preference not on where were from. I have all types of friends from different cultures and we don't argue about how we style our hair.😅 That said it's more important to respect one another and show good morals and values. 😍😍 LOVE THE VIDEO. Wonder if it will be ok on long hair 😬
Ella G She said she "guesses" they are called Bantu knots also what she said is not in the title. If you can read clearly it says "effortless curls" hence why the original comment said what it did. Not complaining about how it should be titled but it could have been "Bantu knot curls" or something like that
Omg that's so amazing but one thing I want to let you know that I am deaf with using sign language. I would be very appreciated if you add the closed captions on your video. I can understand what you're saying in the video. Please add to it! 💖💖💖💖✨
Enjoyed this video! I get to enjoy curls I had in my child hood again. I dyed my hair so much and bleached my hair in my teen years my curls aren’t like they use to be when I was younger.
Oh I'm trying this and idc what people say, rock your hair babe, hair comes in all colors, styles, textures, and lengths. ❤

Umm it's not just a hairstyle it's our culture but I'm not angry at her like it makes no sense to be mad at her
I completely agree with you but I’m just going to add some thing I am of Indian descent and we do this in south Asia as well
yeah and white people have curly hair all the time

gabi carmen thank u for giving me hope HAHAHA

Thanks so much for sharing!
Is it just me or when you mess with my hair to much your arms get tired?

Yesss it's a good arm workout though 😂
ikr. like it hurts my arms cause it’s hanging up in the air for so long
Ikrrr lmao
Yes i-
Love this video Chantel and I'm sorry some people are coming at your life and fail to NOT know that your father is black. You're poppin either way, do what you want and embrace your African roots
Bethany Morrison her father is not black.......
Marielix Feliciano yes he is .... maybe you should have her on youtube. Hes Lousiana creole just like Beyonce's mom and very much black.
coffeeyogamakeup92 what does that matter she's still mixed with black
kamiyah nativebeauty I think you mean sense....not since lmao go back to school
kamiyah nativebeauty you're Native American not Indian get that shit right. They're two different things.
I really thought she was a light skin black girl with natural hair lol
Alyssa Kilgore she is
She looks nothing like a light skin black girl. First glance I thought she was half white half black. And Im 100% shes mixed.
Diana Chan lol 100% mixed doesn't even make sense. Black people as a whole have different facial features complexions and hair textures to the point where there are black people who look biracial and that aren't but technically because of slavery we all are mixed.
Annie Lee if she identifies with being black then that's her business
Alyssa Kilgore
yea I agree slavery did mix up the genetic code. But black IS a very dominant gene and most black people do still have their african traits visible phsyically. But Ofc some dont such as rihanna but its not that common.
She's getting hate for doing a hair style. I feel like people get hate for simple things they do in life, what's the problem it doesn't affect you....
Emanuela Hartman yup i agree with you

Yatzil Leyva omfg it looks so good, but I wish it wasn't so shortttt. my hair is just past my bra, but I did this and it went up above my collar bones, and it took an hour to get out bc my hair is so thick and it tangles so easily😂😭 other than that, it turned out amazing! it looks like my hair is naturally curly, and at my high school today, I got endless compliments on my hair so that felt good😂😊
Yatzil Leyva you should try it!
Lynsey grace my hair is like by my butt so i feel like it would have that volume and just be weighed done
Renata T i havent had the chance to
Chantel you ARE a magician. Wish I can wake up with eyelash extensions :p
Thousands of likes n loads of love for teaching us such n easy n practical way...Allah bless u sis....love from pakistan
I love love love these knots on you! Stunningly beautiful and radiant! 🤩🥰🙌🏾
I wanna try this sooo bad but it will take me years cos my hair is past my butt LMAO
my hair is the same length and i just did this, surprisingly it didn't take too long.
Saneeta K my hair use to be long too so I know what you mean 😭 it takes awhile, but I promise it's worth your time, you'll love it
my hair goes to my breasts, still took me 4 damn fucking hours. imma keep the knots for 2 days.
let's see how it's gonna turn out
not that good, my hair got stuck, i needed to cut strands of my hair off and ugh it was a mess. But i think its because i did it too tight and left the knots in for 2 days. Dont let this keep you from doing it tho, i did get some really tight curls. just too tight for my likeing
Same ugh:(
I like how everyone is getting mad about people hating but nobody is
Ikr 💀
I'm a guy with this type of coiled curly natural hair... growing it out to make you ladies jealous 😉
Nah, don't flatter yourself. We just like to change our hair style from time to time.
I love guys with that type of hair texture tbh, wish I was blessed
LMAO IM DEAD THIS HAIR DONT LOOK GOOD ON BOYS NAD YOU THINK YOU ALLAT 😭💀
Oh yes
Omg hes joking...twats🙄
She looks so cute !!!! 💕
I use almost all of those products, they are THE BOMB for your hair! The it's a 10 I use everyday and the diamond oil or biosilk I use cuz I have frizzy curly hair. Love this tutorial!
Best curls I’ve done I recommend 🥰🙂🙂
Really? It works on straight hair?
Chantel please delete the comment section because they bouta start complaining saying your stealing "culture".
Jayla Brown she is black tho
Zaina Paskalina no she's mix
babydoll kim but still how would she still a culture When she is half of it
Jayla Brown 😂😂😂😂😂 where are you from
she's not half though fuck. Being black is a privilege. she's 25% black. that's not "black". 50% can be considered black, you can really identify as black (at least if you grow up that way as well)
Imagine being that pretty tho😍
OMG. Finally something that is easy to do! I have mad thick hair, but will try it 💯
she has such a gentle calming voice bruh this almost put me to sleep lmao but great tutorial!
Why is it that everyone gets so offended by the littlest things now a days? Just chill and be happy.
That moment when you start seeing the curls 🤗😬 definately trying this tonight !
Did it work?
I’m tryin to be bob Ross for Halloween without killing the environment. I appreciate this video

Dude they work 100% and I'm in love! Love her vids!!😁😄
It's like some of y'all WANT to be mad😂
PLEASE do a wavy hair tutorial!!! (just like in your Natural Glowing Everyday Makeup video) 😍
Just filmed that!
Chantel Jeffries yass omg thank you!!! ❤
this look is defintately too exhausting for me to do on myself but it looks good!!!
I looove heatless curls I have had the same technique since high school it's such a lifesaver! ❤️👌🙋🏽💇🏽
you should've named it bantu knots
Ella G She said she "guesses" they are called Bantu knots also what she said is not in the title. If you can read clearly it says "effortless curls" hence why the original comment said what it did. Not complaining about how it should be titled but it could have been "Bantu knot curls" or something like that
here y'all come complaining. What a surprise
Jayla Brown whos complaining
Jayla Brown who's "y'all" you better foh
Kaalaah no, she should name it the way she wants.

Omg that's so amazing but one thing I want to let you know that I am deaf with using sign language. I would be very appreciated if you add the closed captions on your video. I can understand what you're saying in the video. Please add to it! 💖💖💖💖✨

Chantel Jeffries thnks luv ❤️
I have thick long frizzy hair.....RIP😭😫
SAME THIS DONT WORK ON ME RIP
Anisha Billing actually I lot of girls with kinky curly hair use this method and it makes your curls more smooth and uniform so I'd still try it
Same😭
so i am addicted watching heatless curls types of videos and my hair is naturally curly i am literally wasting my time and i like it🤷🏻♀️😂😂👏🏻
Enjoyed this video! I get to enjoy curls I had in my child hood again. I dyed my hair so much and bleached my hair in my teen years my curls aren’t like they use to be when I was younger.
