Great part to play, well done. I like Simon Gallager and Jon English in their one back in the day. Simon holds the long note near the end for about 25 seconds.
@@Soffity thanks for the comment :) I too grew up on and loved their version. Simon directed me in this production however my recollection of ‘the’ note was about 19secs. I think anyone would pass out around 25 secs in this role 🤭🤣
@@billybourchier4190 you did a great job. Looks like you were really enjoying yourself. I was a huge fan of Simon’s and Jon’s back in the 70,S 80’s. Maybe I added a few seconds for the notes before. He certainly had amazing breath control as do you. Thanks for replying and thanks for posting. The pirates is my favourite G&S.
Dude I knew you were good. I didn't know you were this good. Your voice is outstanding!! God has truly given you a gift :) Looking forward to seeing you in more productions and whatever else lies ahead
Blessed with beautiful voice and look adding hard work and supportive director/teacher - the combination which provides the success. Very, very enjoyable, thank you. Really want to hear more
This guy sounds like Rex Smith who was in the central park production as Frederick along with George Rose and Tony Azito and Kevin Kline and Linda Ronstadt as Mabel.
Firstly, you were fantastic as Frederic, more then beat my hopes!! Secondly, Do you know if they are going to release the whole show footage at any stage? Cause i'm one of the people who saw it and would love to see it again!!??!!
@@billybourchier4190 Thanks for the response, Billy! I have now written to Harvest Rain to implore them to make this production available! Have you recorded any albums or songs that one may be able to buy? (There doesn't seem to be a homepage at your domain name at this time.)
@@nickevershedmusic8927 To put it simply, an operetta falls somewhere between an opera and a musical. Like a musical, an operetta (most often) contains spoken dialogue, as well as song. Operettas are often satirical and witty, and tend to be much shorter and less complex than traditional operas.
Gotta add two comments: 1. The women sing, "A man!" And you wield your sword before realizing. I found myself saying, "You, dummy." 2. That B-flat is effortless. I officially hate you now. ;)
Stage Door Stories Billy, I'm sorry if I offended you, it's just that I've watched Simon performing it that many times I love it. You do have a wonderful voice, and It's not that I didn't like it, it's just that I really like Simon, so sorry again 🙂xx
How is he not more famous?? Saw him in Saigon a couple of weeks ago. The boy is older now, but transcendentally good.
A Frederic who looks like he's actually 21. What a rare treat!
Adcro Ash--Rex Smith as Frederic in the version with Linda Ronstadt and Kevin Kline, George Rose, and Angela Lansbury looks 21 as well.
The girls costumes, and antics paired with his voice make this one of the most spectacular performances
You have possibly the best voice for Frederic I’ve ever heard. Bravo!

Excellent singing and funny interpretation! Awesome!
Great singing.

Fantastiic! LOVE it!
Amazingly well done, you have a great singing voice.
This voice gives me chill bumps!
I hope you have smelling salts handy. You may faint from this.
Is there anywhere I can purchase a copy of this full performance?! You are so immensely gifted! Destined for stardom.
Currently no unfortunately. ThankYou for your kind words though :) fingers crossed maybe one day it will be on sale :)
@@billybourchier4190 And again - I'd happily pay good money. All kinds of excellent. :)
Simply Brillant!

This is much help, I will be auditioning for Frederic in the spring
366th like. A leap year is 366 days. Frederic was born in leap year. I win.

Phil Ranieri I dont think the recording will be made publicly available. Try Contacting Harvest Rain Theatre Company & see what they say.

Is there a DVD of this whole production available? (With BB as Frederic.)
Not one that is commercially available unfortunately

Amazing, I thought this was an opera though, or is it a mix between opera and theatre?
It’s an operetta!
@@zestybanana8970 what the hell is that?

@@ThePolaroid669 G and S always referred to them as operas. They never used the term Operetta in any official material to describe any of their shows.
Have you got with cat like tread
This dude should be in "Bye Bye Birdie" as Conrad Birdie. He got the hips for that part.
Have you got any other songs from pirates
Not at the moment, potentially in future I will :)

nobody told them it's an opera, not a broadway show?
Hi Dan , this particular version is separately licensed to the operetta. Thanks for your concern though ;)
Wow....He made me sweat!
Frederick has left the building
A rather nasal voice and his diction is a bit sloppy
Cant wait to hear your version mikkins :)
Your good billy, but I'm sorry to tell you, Simon's better x
Fiona Edwards - We all try, but we all end up bowing to the king :) I'm just glad I worked closely with Simon to produce this version of the role :)
