Billy Bourchier Singing Anthem from the Musical "Chess" Music by: Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus I do not own this song or its contents
Great part to play, well done. I like Simon Gallager and Jon English in their one back in the day. Simon holds the long note near the end for about 25 seconds.
@@Soffity thanks for the comment :) I too grew up on and loved their version. Simon directed me in this production however my recollection of ‘the’ note was about 19secs. I think anyone would pass out around 25 secs in this role 🤭🤣
@@billybourchier4190 you did a great job. Looks like you were really enjoying yourself. I was a huge fan of Simon’s and Jon’s back in the 70,S 80’s. Maybe I added a few seconds for the notes before. He certainly had amazing breath control as do you. Thanks for replying and thanks for posting. The pirates is my favourite G&S.
Mama invented maiden breasts
A rather nasal voice and his diction is a bit sloppy
Cant wait to hear your version mikkins :)
Fantastiic! LOVE it!
Have you got with cat like tread
366th like. A leap year is 366 days. Frederic was born in leap year. I win.
Billy you have an Amazing Voice❤.I loved this song ❤.More Songs Please❤,
How is he not more famous?? Saw him in Saigon a couple of weeks ago. The boy is older now, but transcendentally good.
Wow....He made me sweat!
Oh this is very very good
Great performance!

Blessed with beautiful voice and look adding hard work and supportive director/teacher - the combination which provides the success. Very, very enjoyable, thank you. Really want to hear more
nobody told them it's an opera, not a broadway show?
Hi Dan , this particular version is separately licensed to the operetta. Thanks for your concern though ;)
This guy sounds like Rex Smith who was in the central park production as Frederick along with George Rose and Tony Azito and Kevin Kline and Linda Ronstadt as Mabel.
ThankYou so much !
You’re voice is so nice 😍😍😍 too bad there aren’t more recordings of you singing
Too kind - more videos are coming ;) stay tuned
@@billybourchier4190 are there? Because your last video was seven years ago...
@@goatpie882 yep - still here , there are some slightly newer vids on my other channel StageDoorStories . Just taking a UA-cam break for a while
Wow - Billy - you're just amazing!!! The pianist deserves a call out too! wow!
Have you got any other songs from pirates
Not at the moment, potentially in future I will :)
The girls costumes, and antics paired with his voice make this one of the most spectacular performances
Is there anywhere I can purchase a copy of this full performance?! You are so immensely gifted! Destined for stardom.
Currently no unfortunately. ThankYou for your kind words though :) fingers crossed maybe one day it will be on sale :)
@@billybourchier4190 And again - I'd happily pay good money. All kinds of excellent. :)
You have possibly the best voice for Frederic I’ve ever heard. Bravo!
Amazingly well done, you have a great singing voice.
Amazing, I thought this was an opera though, or is it a mix between opera and theatre?
It’s an operetta!
@@zestybanana8970 what the hell is that?
@@nickevershedmusic8927 To put it simply, an operetta falls somewhere between an opera and a musical. Like a musical, an operetta (most often) contains spoken dialogue, as well as song. Operettas are often satirical and witty, and tend to be much shorter and less complex than traditional operas.
@@ThePolaroid669 G and S always referred to them as operas. They never used the term Operetta in any official material to describe any of their shows.
Frederick has left the building
This dude should be in "Bye Bye Birdie" as Conrad Birdie. He got the hips for that part.
Is there a DVD of this whole production available? (With BB as Frederic.)
Not one that is commercially available unfortunately
@@billybourchier4190 Thanks for the response, Billy! I have now written to Harvest Rain to implore them to make this production available! Have you recorded any albums or songs that one may be able to buy? (There doesn't seem to be a homepage at your domain name at this time.)
I have seen a bazillion productions of Pirates in at least 6 countries, and I think this may be the best I’ve ever heard Frederic sung. That voice is a gift from the gods (and your diction is exquisite.) I hope you’re still singing.
Spectacular !
Good job and great fun!
Great singing. ...where can one watch the rest of this production? : )
Excellent singing and funny interpretation! Awesome!
This voice gives me chill bumps!
I hope you have smelling salts handy. You may faint from this.
Nice! Your voice sounds more mature than your age. I'm sure you get better and better.
Amazing
Your good billy, but I'm sorry to tell you, Simon's better x
Fiona Edwards - We all try, but we all end up bowing to the king :) I'm just glad I worked closely with Simon to produce this version of the role :)
Stage Door Stories Billy, I'm sorry if I offended you, it's just that I've watched Simon performing it that many times I love it. You do have a wonderful voice, and It's not that I didn't like it, it's just that I really like Simon, so sorry again 🙂xx
Oh no don't be silly :)
Stage Door Stories I'm so glad, my daughter told me off for saying Simon was better, as she thinks you're wonderful. XX ☺
Fiona Edwards Haha Tell your daughter thanks for her support :)
A very good performance of a beautiful song. Well done indeed !
Amazing! That musical has some of the best music I have ever heard in musical theater.
Simply Brillant!
Gotta add two comments: 1. The women sing, "A man!" And you wield your sword before realizing. I found myself saying, "You, dummy." 2. That B-flat is effortless. I officially hate you now. ;)
I could listen to you sing all day, sir.
wkyken THANKYOU sir :)
wkyken head to BillyBourchier.com and you can ! :)
Actually, I have. You have at least one American fan, Mr Bourchier (but no doubt many more).
This is much help, I will be auditioning for Frederic in the spring
A Frederic who looks like he's actually 21. What a rare treat!
Adcro Ash--Rex Smith as Frederic in the version with Linda Ronstadt and Kevin Kline, George Rose, and Angela Lansbury looks 21 as well.
Dude I knew you were good. I didn't know you were this good. Your voice is outstanding!! God has truly given you a gift :) Looking forward to seeing you in more productions and whatever else lies ahead
Firstly, you were fantastic as Frederic, more then beat my hopes!! Secondly, Do you know if they are going to release the whole show footage at any stage? Cause i'm one of the people who saw it and would love to see it again!!??!!
