More like descend THROUGH hell. They really put you through the shit before you even get to Ganondorf, and then you finally get him after all of that, and he hands your ass to you.
Deep below the surface. Souls of the lost wander. A dark and dead mirror of the world above. The de facto leader is called the DEMON king. The Depths is literally Hyrule's version of the underworld, of HELL!
1 after this point you won’t be able to do anything else 2 are you sure you want to enter the DOMAIN? 3 this is a point of no return are you sure? 4 Don’t do this, you have little chance of winning 5 please don’t go down, you will face the grand finale 6 DONT DO IT, YOU WILL NEVER RETURN, YOU WILL SUFFER FROM THE FINAL BATTLE 7 you’ve made your choice, i guess it’s time for you to accept destiny, no point in delaying you, but just to make sure. Are you finished with the game? have you completed what you wanted? Are. You. Ready?
I love how it starts slow as you begin to realize you've come full circle at the very entrance you started at, and as you go down father than you had in the beginning, it begins to speed up, until its around twice as fast as you approach the lair of the devil himself.
This made the experience for me. I could have hated the rest of totk and got here and still called this game of the year. The build up of this section is the best ive ever seen in any piece of media. The music, the gradual reveal that you're back where you started, the completed mural, Zelda's torch at the bottom of where she fell, the dynamic music and the lead up to the abyss. Everything is perfect and had me completely hooked the whole time. Gorgeous
@@UnknownSpooky Yeah wind temple was good, but I honestly thought the Electric Temple's atmosphere was more striking tbh. That might just be my personal preference though
@@lukiia9854 The Lightning Temple was by far my favorite part of the whole game overall. The music, the setting, the puzzles, the atmosphere, the boss battle, all of it. I absolutely fucking loved it.
I wish I had waited until I was ready to battle Ganondorf before I descended to the Gloom's Approach, the mood had made my heart damn near race, the themes and atmosphere was stellar, but then when I realized that this was just before the final battle, I left. I was just exploring before I discovered I was in the endgame location lol
I just wanna emphasize how different this ganondorf was from the first appearance he had, instead of some conqueror thief from the desert that happens to threaten the world, you were diving down to face what had been built up as THE DEVIL.
the scary part for me wasn't even any of this, by the time I got here I was just incredibly hyped with a huge grin on my face by how awesome the presentation was. the scary part was diving into the hurdle castle chasm because i had no idea if something was gonna be there as soon as i hit the ground, if i'd be able to even see, etc.
I think it would have been cool if instead of pushing Hyrule Castle up into the sky, he pulled it down through the depths and into the abyss with him and then covered it in gloom and made it his own.
3:00 Hey can you make a 3 and a half minute loop of this battle then with that sound effect to start it off?? No one else has a version like that on here
I actually couldn’t find the entrance after I got underneath the castle until I got hit by the loke like lightning.. and then when the music changed I was like oh shit… this is it
i still get emotional when i listen to the botw soundtrack, but hearing totk's and how it has incerdible moments like these makes me feel so so warm and happy inside. i cried a lot playing this game while finishing it, starting it, getting to hear familiar sounds and new ones alike. this song itself chills me to the core. for me, this boss fight was near impossible because i truly was not prepared for ganon to have three full phases, and paired with the suspension of the music, the fight beforehand, and all the knowledge leading up to it, makes for the best zelda game to date. and that's saying something because twilight princess has been my #1 since i was 8
I mean... If you think about it the whole forgotten foundation is the most literal definition of a dungeon in the whole series. Honestly feels like a Zelda 1 dungeon.

Other Zelda games: climb this tower to fight a powerful king on his throne!

@DoctorTex If The Depths are Hyrule's hell, then what is the Gloom beyond the depths? Tartarus?
@@LordMalice6d9 Just...deeper into hell, I guess. Like the 7th circle?
This is like having 7 back to back windows that pop up saying “are you sure you want to continue?” But more verbose every time

If only the rest of the game had this level of impact barring the obvious Wind Temple Approach section :/

Yeah well said. Genuinley one of the best end game experiences ever.

The Gloom’s Approach music is so awesome it makes it feel super cinematic

This is my favorite upload of this, seamless transitions and you even stick with the last one for a while. Thank you so much for this

The battle theme and the theme before that together would be 👌
Brilliant final dungeon, and this isn't even a proper dungeon (even when compared to the temples in this game)
