An epic adventure awaits in the Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom game, only on the Nintendo Switch system.
In this sequel to the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild game, you’ll decide your own path through the sprawling landscapes of Hyrule and the mysterious islands floating in the vast skies above. Can you harness the power of Link’s new abilities to fight back against the malevolent forces that threaten the kingdom?

This theme was extremely complex to unpack, despite being made of only 4 basic segments with 2 variations each, because each wave arranges them in a different way, sometimes only using parts of segments. On top of that, the loop normally only uses 3 of the 4 segments until you make a certain amount of progress in the wave, at which point it adds the last segment. For the sake of completeness, I've uploaded each wave individually, as well as all the waves combined. For those wanting a simplified version that covers all parts for use in playlists, you can find that here: ua-cam.com/video/p_smb_Ciz4w/v-deo.html
Mashing together like 30 different battle themes from across the entire series for the final battle track was a genius move
I am curious, what other themes do you hear? I love zelda music but none come to mind for me lol.
@@poplee6478i can only recognize the main enemy group battle theme from totk and segment's of ganondorf's and phantom ganon's battle theme from a link to the past, ocarina of time, windwaker and four sword's adventures.
@@tootnoot3074Kumite and its baseline are the most prevalent theme in the track, which is used throughout most phases. Essentially, the entire song overall can be called a remix of Kumite.
Which makes sense given this is a repeat of the climax of SS, but at the end of the current chronology instead of the start.
2:43 is where it shifts from being the baseline to being very blatantly and obviously Kumite for the first time
Edit: apparently the Japanese name of this theme in the Japanese TotK track names is straight up The Final Kumite to go with the above
@@JacobNintendoNerd99kumite no saigo ^^
there are like 3 songs in here at most lmao
“you don’t have to fight all by yourself you know!”
"When we work together, WE'RE UNSTOPPABLE!"
My favorite quote of the entire game.
Oh I dont?? Jajajajaj very epic Battle
Imagine doing it solo with all silver rank enemies.

i can't be alone in saying that this is one of Legend of Zelda's best tracks, right?
It's one of the best moments in all Zelda I think
0:00 the guardian piano riff gets your adrenaline going for the fight
imagine if they just threw a guardian at you in one of the phases
I didn't notice during my playthrough, but listening to it here did make me panic for a second 😂
I didn’t know I heard that until you said it. I guess I’m now used to No Guardians.
@@DarkBraveStuff That would be the biggest curveball in history, hot damn. I was really wishing that a guardian would show up somewhere! They were some of the most dynamic and cool battles I had in Breath of the Wild.
THE WAY THIS SONG MAKES ME ASCEND IS GENUINLY LIKE NO OTHER PLS THIS SONG NEEDS MORE LOVE
This battle theme befits an all-out war, rather than a simple fight. Wave after wave of monsters, set it with the open field backdrop. The Imprisoning War fought all over again. Link can very much declare himself a war veteran. So can Tulin, Sidon, Riju and Yunobo.
Man i love the part where the song transitions to the next phase!
There's some blood moon ambiance mixed in the orchestration. It's nuts!!!! And amazing!
8:01- 8:16 I know it’s also interspersed earlier, but can we talk about the use of *electric guitar* of all things in a Zelda track? It works better than it has any right to. At 8:30 you can also hear this synth tone that I could have sworn I’ve heard in Metroid Prime games. Combine that with the sax in the main theme, and I feel like the TotK has broken convention in Zelda’s scoring the way BotW did with the actual gameplay
i heard somewhere that sound is actually distorted strings but there’s no way for me to prove it unfortunately
At 0:47, I love how the percussion is emphasized in this variant, which has a lot of resemblance when The Imprisoned starts rushing at the temple in Skyward Sword. No doubt there are hidden motifs in each variant, really love these subtle details from nintendo.
Y'know, I'm not really that big on the TOTK soundtrack compared to BOTW, but this thing goes so hard it might be better than anything in BOTW. Sets the scene like nothing I've ever experienced in a video game.
super unpopular opinion, the soundtracks in this game rival that of the best games in the world (my opinion). especially the boss themes
Reverse opinion. I think BotW's soundtrack straight up sucks for the most part with a handful of exceptions and TotK is a massive jump in quality.
Having real boss themes instead of the same boss theme used over and over for every main boss (Maz excepted, and oh God is he a hell of an exception) is just one way it's a huge step in the right direction for me.
I also think the brand new character theme for the new Ganondorf in the game used throughout TotK is also pretty good and foreboring, and it being used as part of the main theme is also a pretty good call imo
@@JacobNintendoNerd99 absolutely agree with you, in terms of boss music. both games accomplish what they're made for
@@JacobNintendoNerd99That's literally my exact standpoint when it comes to the BOTW series music.
Not that BOTW music was terrible, like Dark Beast Ganon was good, but nothing from BOTW compared to something like this song in any way. I honestly didn't care that I died to the army like 20 times because the theme was so good, especially at the Gibdo part (where the music loops the same 5 notes over and over)
I think both have their strengths, botw is definitely more toned back than totk in scope and intensity, which makes sense given the scope of totk's story and themes. I do prefer totk but botw Def has some really good bits too
What a masterpiece, ever since I finished the Game I've been listening nonstop every time
i was never able to appreciuate this till now HOLY FRIG this is jampacked with freaking emotions wthechk A TRUELY UNDERATED GEM OF TOTK OSTs???
Idk why this music makes me feel so emotional lol. Thank you, the transitions are seamless and perfect!
This part of the game cemented this as the best Zelda of all time for me ... Even beating out OoT, which is very hard.
I think in time the criticism will fade, and this will go down as one of the best Zelda ever made.
The fact that they added some variations from other Zelda fight songs and not make it sound clunky is downright amazing and impressive ❤
Dude, I've listened to this like 3 times today, it has so much SAUSE
This sounds like it could have been an unused track(s) from Age of Calamity. Wish there were more direct references to that game in Tears of the Kingdom, but I still love all the games all the same. Thanks for putting this together.
@Leeloo_the_foxThere are meta references, though. The voice actresses for Tulin (Christina Vee) and Purah (Kate Higgins) for example.
@Leeloo_the_foxyour dead wrong. There IS a quest in hateno where you attend a class at the school and calamity IS explained to kids but they won't believe a Word and demand some proof, which you take from a picture you make to calamity's 10.000 years ago wall from impa's house and show them to convince
@@darmanilinkgoro8286They’re talking about the game Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. 🙂
@Leeloo_the_foxthere are some direct references. Among them is King Rhaom's grave in TotK has his weapons that he uses as a playable character in AoC, Purah's design is explicitly stated by the designers to be a callback to AoC but changed to show the difference between the circumstances Purah finds herself in between each game, and certain locations are designed to be in line with AoC as well.
It's not the same timeline but there are direct references, just like how the game is not in the Adult Timeline.
There are references as you can hear the AOC main theme every time you activate the sky view tower and collecting info. But I can definitely see a AOC sequel based on the upheaval and imprisoning war
This whole series of songs is ugh the strings going absolutely fucking nuts in the background is reminiscent of some other games with a huge swarm of enemies you must fight through. It kinda falls into that category if it makes sense, that type of kind of wildness if that makes any kind of sense.
Thank you!! I just finished the game last night and this battle was probably the most fun I’ve had in a video game in a while. And this track absolutely slaps!!
I love how this fight is just one massive Skyward Sword reference
RAAAAAAAAAA KUMITE MENTIONED RRAAAAAAAAAAA
Why does this slap so hard?
We are FIGHTING HUNDREDS (not really. But a handful of them at once) of MONSTERS! Of course it slaps!
2:44 best part
What I love the most about music is that for the most part, you can remember exactly where you were if you even hear a part of a song. This was such a trip down memory lane with all thw call backs to different battle themes that I knew this was close to my favorite track in the while game ❤
2:46 kind of sounds like the Horde Battle Theme from Skyward Sword. I wonder if it was on purpose.
Manaka Kataoka knows what she's doing so I'd say very much so.
The theme was named Kumite in SS, and the Japanese name for this track essentially translates to The Final Kumite. So yeah I would say definitely
I've been trying to find a good version of this song for a while ! Thanks for this!
Wonder how many violins were destroyed to play this
First time I went played my new Switch Oled (1st time switch owner) with earphones and when this came on.... yeah I had to search it up 😂🔥
It sounds different without the sounds of dying Bokoblins.
Beautiful job with the transistions man
Parts of this almost sound like something that could be in a Halo OST
If I had to guess, it's probably because of the bits like the one from 9:00 to 9:13
hey marty DOES love botw and totk so
When you have to fight Lindsey Stirling
This should be the standard fighting theme for Lynels after you defeat Ganondorf. For some reason it reminds me a lot to the Mini boss theme from OoT, even if it is not alike.
Ganondorf: "Since 5.45 we're firing back"
I wonder if ToTK was inspired to by AoC, to just throw a giant horde of enemies at Link.
For sure because of the Shared Health Bar for the hordes
I can hear me jumping off of minerus back to bullet time bone proficiency Gibdo bones
I fucking love you, lol.
Amazing
*A S C E N D S*
Hear me out, Demon King’s army should’ve taken place after the Ganondorf battle.
Once he transforms into the Demon Dragon, he could have summoned tons of monsters to attack lookout landing, and Link has to defend it with all the NPCs by his side. Once the swarm is cleared, Zelda arrives to bring Link up and finish the Demon Dragon.
If executed correctly that could work, if not it could really ruin the pacing and hype would die
Doesn't he turn into the demon dragon with the purpose of destroying link. Also can he even summon monsters at that form
Don't the monsters disappear after you beat Ganondorf?
If so, might as well go for checkmate rather than taking every piece on the board
Nah. It’s better for the Army to be BEFORE Ganondorf. The hype is REAL! Also Rauru and the Sages must’ve been fighting that army!
A little more variety in the waves would have been cool. Just throw in two or three Knees swarms, maybe an Octorok rear guard, a Lynel leading the charge for non Bokoblins...
this gives me flashbacks of me one hitting the red bokobling in the first part of the demon army
This sounds so much like a Nier Automata track to me and that's not at all a complaint
I can absolutely see that. Nier Automata has a stellar OST
the start sounds like a party
Age of calamity track snuck into totk
Which ost?

Anyone else play this during genshins 5.1 quest?
