My dad was Irish and moved to London at 18 in 1968. He used to sing this song to me in the 80s as a lullaby. I’m not sure what that says about him or me. But I love listening to it and remembering him
My grandfather was Irish he was a big strong man and other big strong Irish men who were not afraid of hard work built-up London along with him after WW2..God Bless em all.
i had been in London for about six months .Was working in Colindale ,a hot summers day in the seventh floor ,a few window cleaners outside with a loud radio Tears came to my eyes ,this song came on .

Thanks Jim. Beautiful, really beautiful.
A great song. I saw him once with Dubliners at the Embankment and once as a solo act at the Wexford Inn.
A very beautiful and poignant song.
Very nice version.
Absolutely lovable 👍 nice one
Lovely melodic voice
There is no-one who ever has, or ever will have, the amazing & memorable voice of Jim McCann xoxox
Indeed, his voice was as pure as that crystal fountain of which he sang so sublimely.
wonder music
