- I tried out US Mobile's New Network DARK STAR and the teleport feature, here's what I found out!

I’m a truck driver. I have Verizon post paid as my primary. I have two US Mobile eSIMs. One is the T-Mobile and the other is AT&T. I pay $18 for both, they are on a 2 GB shared plan. I only use them when I get into a Verizon dead zone which is rare. I just like having the coverage option out here on the road.
From your experience, is the AT&T coverage worse than Verizon across the map? If yes how bad is it?
They should start creating a Teleportal Sim Card. Automatically switches to the best network. And uses the online teleport feature for more control but best used for failover networking.
That’s how google fi initially intended to work, but yeah I agree I want some ability to choose which network, just in case they prioritize something different than I want I.E. data speed vs how close a tower is
They have a beta for multi-SIM plan so you can have two active SIMS on same Unlimited plan splitting the data for $15/mo extra. Then your phone if it supports DSDA can switch SIMs automatically based on coverage.
This is hard to implement due to each network having different protocols and the Sim can't handle it all. Maybe in future they'll find a way but most likely not till sims get ability to compute more or store more keys@@evertonsway
For the best experience you should delete the old eSIM before adding a new one, leaving the old eSIM in can cause issues occasionally at least on the iPhone

Dark Star is fully optimized on Android. They still need to fix the lack of group chats on iOS. I switched from the iPhone to the Pixel with Dark Star and so far it's been flawless.

Android and IOS messaging will soon be linked for HD video, pix , group chats and typing status threw RCS protocol in SEP
@@Freestyleny That's not the issue. But yes I already have 18.1 developer version. RCS is enabled. This is a separate issue just with group chats only on Darkstar.

I have used it a few times. Right now the issue is that it keeps telling me I am out of teleports even though I am on unlimited and only did it 3 times. SO I just have to chat with them. Not a big deal. Its new. Love that I can change when I want. I don't want an auto switching network. I want it when I want it. Awesome service.
Appreciate the vid. I have found with newer tech I’m sure it will go through a refinement process . I agree the esims can get cluttered. I’ve tried a few different services and have a bunch of old one on my iPhone. I actually use the flex plan. The 10 gigs and then unlimited 1mps is all I need for basic phone use. Wi-Fi is where I do my heavy lifting

Haha, it’s actually not even that terrible in my opinion bc there’s an aspect of this teleport that I found annoying. So not total click bait but I gotta say, as a small UA-camr, we don’t get the same promo so we have to have captivating titles and thumbnails.

Also, in the beginning he mentions NOT HAVING ENOUGH EXPERIENCE with TELEPORTING with US MOBILE, but he had to give a LESS THAN POSITIVE VIEW. I found his EXPLANATIONS so CONFUSING on some of his VIDEOS and I would just GET TO THE 👉 POINT!!! 👀👀👀

I understand it may be difficult for some people that doesn’t know much about it. But I already used it abroad and work I switched from wrap to light network and work abroad when I came back I switched back to wrap..
With the teleport feature you said you’ll basically have numerous eSims on your phone depending on how many times you teleport. With that being the case can’t you just remove the old eSIMs to avoid clutter or would that mess things up?
Yes you can delete the eSIM every time you install the new eSIM, it won't mess anything up.
I have US Mobile and I'm using Dark Star, works fantastic because i live in an AT&T area. And why would anyone need or want to teleport 8 times a day? Makes no sense.
The limit is 8x in a billing cycle (30 days) and yeah it performs well in AT&T areas.
I have 86 lines with USM and haven't had an issue with the Teleports...? Maybe it's just the Dark Star. U have my employees use Warp and Light Speed Network.

@evertonsway who do you think is the cell coverage in San Antonio? T-Mobile, ATT, or Verizon?
I live in Alamo ranch btw.
That’s in my area, so in my experience when it comes to coverage Verizon and AT&T are really close, but I would go with Verizon for the priority data. T-Mobile I’ve noticed more “no signal” areas, even though the coverage map says it has coverage there.
@@evertonsway yeah t-mobile is terrible in Alamo ranch. Right in front of casa Blanca theater, I lose all data for like .5 miles. It sucks.
I switched from Visible to Us Mobile and I'm going back to Visible because the teleportal is garbage...I got stuck in Light without being able to return to Warp

You don't need priority on att. Waste of money. You will not notice any difference. They have plenty of bandwidth. Save your money.

How was the data speeds on Dark Star?
Just did a speed test on ookla got 388 down and 20.3 up. Ping was 37. I live in San Antonio TX in a pretty populated area of the city
@@evertonsway I worded that wrong my bad, what i meant was since Dark Star is deprioritized data, is the deprioritizing pretty noticeable while web browsing and youtube videos compared to using Warp?
Personally I haven't experienced much noticeable deprioritization. Compared to WARP it seems extremely similar, without the need to pay for the optional prioritization in my area. Web browsing is responsive and I haven't have much buffering
Is anyone able to use Wi-Fi calling on the Dark Star network on Android or Apple? I've tried everything and it doesn't appear.

It does seem to reduce streaming down to SD. Still working through the data to see how it performs after the limit
You can go onto your account and turn on data waster, for full streaming

So you can’t switch between esim that’s lame would be better if you keep the 2 esim you want and switch in settings without downloading a new esim every time this is fail 😂
