      @@rdp6096 yes, supposedly in my area mint (t-mobile) was better, which was true. unfortunately, tmobile still struggles in rural areas where verizon and att dont. i made the switch today to dark star (att) and so far I am amazed and pleased.

      @rdp6096 Dark Star is absolutely worth it! I switched to it from Visible and love it. Coverage for me is much, much better. Also, US Mobile has great customer care and a modern mobile app, and you can choose and change your network between the 3 carriers anytime for free if you have the $44 plan (100GB of data)
      It's definitely amazing! I have never had full bars in my home, and I have full bars of 5G+ in my home. Definitely worth the change from Mint to US Mobile.

    After your recommendation, I got their 2GB $10/month plan, and I love it.
    Except, I went annual instead of monthly, so it's $96/year, which is more like $8/month converted.
    I was previously on AT&T (and ironically still am because I'm on Darkstar), and it was $40/month and didn't provide 5G.
    I use less than 1GB/month on average, and have a 5G capable phone, so switching made a lot of sense.
    I didn't even realize my town had 5G until I switched.
    Thank you for everything you do Stetson, you're helping people save lots of money!

    I would pay a little extra money to be able to dynamically connect to all three networks without “teleporting” to a new network and having to apply a new eSIM and visit a dashboard every single time.

    • @StetsonDoggett
      @StetsonDoggett  2 місяці тому +29

      In a way, you can kind of already do this! You can grab a shared data plan, say the $20 10GB plan, and add a second line on a different network for just $8. So for $28 you can now toggle between two of your preferred networks for coverage and pull from the same 10GB of shared data.

    • @Nissan350Zable
      @Nissan350Zable 2 місяці тому

      @@iantiller-mohr9492 have two networks active on one phone (eSIM 1/pSIM and eSIM 2) assuming the device is unlocked and have the data automatically select which service has the best network. One Verizon and the other line either AT&T or T-Mobile. That’ll cover pretty much the entire US.

    • @dylreesYT
      @dylreesYT 2 місяці тому +4

      I agree that a new eSIM or physical SIM every time really sucks, but what you're referring to is roaming. They would need a very accurate nation-wide map of speeds and coverage for that to be truly effective. But as Stetson said above, there's a middle ground by using dual-SIM tech.
      It may even be possible to add all three networks on one device because many devices support several saved eSIMs so while you'd only be able to receive calls and texts on two at once, if you kept two out of three numbers private then you could potentially (not tested myself) simply disable the SIM on network 2 and activate the SIM on network 3 while keeping network 1 available at all times.
      Doing this would allow you to speed test each one at different locations which you frequent and know what the best network is for each of those locations, information that if US Mobile had then they could perhaps move to that ideal roaming model that you dream of.
      I'm also not sure if it's important but if you are happy with one specific network but it doesn't have signal in specific locations enabling roaming might be work to fill in the gaps- I don't think that works though but if someone could test that to verify but this is something US Mobile could build out eventually.

    I live like 0.9 miles from cell tower and get only 10mbps down and 1mbps up not bad but it’s like unreliable and this is outside.
    I’m guessing it’s because maybe the antenna is not pointing at my direction or something idk

    It’s gonna suck just as much as every secondary network plan. Pretty much every reseller is crap, and att has a particularly bad secondary network. The prices certainly don’t make it worth it when you have your coverage halfed and get crap speeds compared to the primary network. I’m not just a hater, I used att prepaid and ting for years.
