1:09 He was called George Cole. Remember sitting by the fire inside while he cleared the road of rocks.
2:53 The tunnel closed in the 60s by Dr Beeching, nothing to do with Thatcher.
3:00 The ownership of land has just been transferred to the society and work starts next year.
4:15 The pub is owned by Martin Roberts from Homes Under The Hammer on BBC.
5:09 Look for the 3 trees on top of the mountain and the tunnel entrance is below it but is now covered. Half way up the mountain is an air vent to let out gasses and during winter you could see smoke coming out of the tunnel.
8:02 That street had an opera house where Charlie Chaplin did a few shows when he was touring the UK.
9:37 The new trains will arrive in Summer 2025.
17:23 that gap was made by dynamite when they built the roads.
18:07 The miners donated money to build the library which the theatre was built onto in later years.
    22:33 Pillow Talk - sells pillows 😂.
24:18 I’ve just returned after 30 years ago; 20 in London.

Very nice vid about THE Valley, nice looking at "the bits" but I took agreviance about Penrhys, They did not sand "criminals" up to house there, yes it was a bit rough, but I spent few nights there with a mate of mine (he was living with Mam & Dad it was I think 1970), when I was a teenager and everything was tickety boo? and the family was very nice to me as a visitor, they were poor but everybody was back then, I would not have lived there, mainly because it was on top of a mountain.

My mam always used to say about a painting of Andy Capp on the Bwlch, but no sign of it now. Does anyone know where it was painted?

I lived in the area for ten years so I was interested to see what it was like now. Unfortunately I could only watch it in places, the fast camera panning and jerky movements made me sea-sick!
