My question is one of these notes doesnt sound diatonic but rather chromatic when you play it, and i cant figure out which yet.
0:41 0:45 for examplein measure 32 its a different set of notes but the same pattern. However here the 3rd note is a natural. Im just curious if maybe the ones im referring to are also a G natural and not G# maybe?

If you look at the first page of music at the top it says swing, meaning two written eighth notes really means a quarter note triplet, then an eighth note triplet. Because of this, all eighth notes could be written in 12:8 as a quarter note then an eighth note.
I am a European classical musician, so I had been asking myself the very same question until I realised that "swung" music is not really about eighths, but rather about quarters whose divisions are played "swung": in classical terms "like a triplet made of 2+1 quavers". The translation of this rhythm into 12/8 is actually more instumental than vocal: if you listen to many jazz singer (or to Stevie Wonder himself) they actually do not sing thinking of triplets, they sing and think swung couples of quavers.
It’s classical notation for easier read. That’s why it’s explicitly notated in parts like 2:28 and 2:48 that it should be played with “straight 8ths” rather than the implicit swing rhythm.

Good ear. I've been playing the original at .25 speed, and you can see the accidentals. Terrence's embellishments are on another level.
