Julia is a national treasure. So talented, funny and genuine. She is one of those rare people that just look better with age. Her and Billie Joe Armstrong are the only two celebrities that I can think of I can say that about. I look back at her in the 90s and it’s like, yea I guess she’s attractive, but now I’m like, WOW! In a fantasy world I would be dating her and she is almost twice my age, and in that same fantasy world, Billie Joe would be my best friend.
I didn't know this channel existed! AMAZING!!! Can't wait to watch everything else ;) also can't love Julia any more than I already do, she's fucking incredible!
I knew succession must've had some of Veep's writers, such expertise in the roasting art isn't that common. PS: Broom + wig = Tim. Still roasting Jonah in 2022, it will never get old.
It took probably 11 watches to finally catch the hilarious egg in that ep Julia is talking about with all of the huge Meyer posters hidden in a closet. There's a moment that lasts no more than 2 ½ seconds where Catherine says something and Selina gazes out pensively and does the exact same pose she's doing on the blown up cover of the Times Magazine poster directly behind her. It's so dang funny and shows the multilayered jokes in every scene, some whom you may not catch until your 15th watch even.
I think there is an episode where they call her Selena Catherine Meyer, isnt it one of the congressmen voting for her to be president and trying to stall till jonah gets there so he says her full name really slowly
I know that Sue worked for Laura Montez at the White House so that's why she wasn't around for most of Season 5 through season 7. So I wonder if Sufe Bradshaw the actress who played Sue was written off on purpose? She was such an integral part to the ensemble from seasons 1 to 4. I wonder if there was drama going on behind the scenes that led her not becoming part of the show anymore. If they really wanted her back, the producers and writers could have just written scenes that featured her in the White House for season 5. 6. and 7. She only had a minor cameo in the Finale episode and the only characters she even interacted with was only Amy and Jonah.
I heard that Julia's meetings she had with Tony Roach and the producers separately after table reads where conversations on how to kill the rest of the cast. Supposedly, Julia would have a stern look and would constantly talk about hiring hit men to whack the cast when they were in vulnerable positions like when sitting on the toilet on set. I may be wrong because my informant was someone from the Seinfeld cast that was never part of VEEP. Or it might have been the cat tranquilizer pills I've been taking to conquer my diarrhea. But, that's neither here nor there.
Oh ok.. that is why at the end the vibe felt fake-ish, they have moved to LA! We felt it! :D Stellar show, love them all, but I wish they've stayed in Maryland.
Pity no Australian network picked this up. Guess I'll binge it on a streaming service when I finally get sick of Seinfelds. That's still on FTA rotation 6 episodes a week. Producer's note: Lower the mics next time for us UA-camrs. Malcolm Turnbull was our PM who ripped Continuity and Change. Boy did he get laughed out of the joint for that!
Another inconsistency - shame on Gary Cole - Kent mentions more than once that he has no children but in the last episode he talks about his daughter retiring from NASA.
Hey guys -- loved, loved Veep. But the podcast? This is actually a VISUAL medium. Placing the mics so faces are only half seen, especially Julia's (mic aimed at her eyebrows), is just lame. We'd like to SEE the people talking. Why can't the mics can't be six inches lower? Seriously.
@@neilharris9679 Good Knowledge, My Friend:) Club record goalscorer but made the worst Managerial decision in my time attending and this is my 7th decade of going to matches:).Picture the scene. By the time the Subs were on , it was too late and Rochdale from the bottom division held Spurs and earned a fortune from the replay. Rant Over,My Friend:)
I tell you, Selina Meyer is the character that only Julia could have done justice.
She was made for it, and it was made for her.
The acting on "Veep" was so good, but the writing was truly exceptional.
I am so grateful for whatever UA-cam algorithm or google cookies or whatever robot spies are responsible for getting this into my feed.
Exact same here
Sameeee
I cant believe how much they RIP into Tim. It's making me nostalgic. Love you all.
He deserved it. 😂 that question went on and on and on.
Can't believe this podcast existed and I had no idea. Binging this now ❤️

That was like an episode of Veep. Hilarious!
'Catherine, why is that your hair?'
Such a great episode! Excited to watch future episodes of the podcast with JLD talking about specific Veep eps.
I didn't know this channel existed! AMAZING!!! Can't wait to watch everything else ;) also can't love Julia any more than I already do, she's fucking incredible!
The fact that they got Julia is AMAZING I'm kinda glad Tim couldn't make it it's such a Jonah move!
Jonah's first question is him just trying to find out if he was ever talked about when you all went and had the secret meetings
Please do more of these!! I love VEEP and will never get bored of it!
OH MY GOD i had the best time ever. This podcast is a delight
JLD is so so good at being passive aggressively sarcastic, I love it.
She is multi-talented,as you know and she worked 4 Series of this with Brits who are undisputed World Champions at Passive Aggressiveness:)
yay I LOVE veep and just found this podcast!
Thank you all so much for this!
I knew succession must've had some of Veep's writers, such expertise in the roasting art isn't that common.
PS: Broom + wig = Tim. Still roasting Jonah in 2022, it will never get old.
She is 61 here, I think! Hard to believe how time flies.
She's incredible. Have her on my comedy Rushmore with Martin Short, Conan O'Brien, and the Kids in the Hall.
HOLY SHIT You got Julia! What an AMZING episode. It competes with Tony Hale's episode!

I love this podcast!
Lol the first question is like Amy’s list of grievances “Oh my god how bout I write 30 pages on you need to start wearing concealer.”
How could tim miss this???
I didn’t hear a sorry 😂😂 Julia I love you
Did the casting director get an Emmy? Because my goodness
Omfg I'm so happy that I've found this
Do more of these interviews w/ past cast members! :-D
Love this
loved this !!!

True legend
Shelf filler idea: print and frame a still of the scene Tim was shooting instead of being there for Julia.
JLD is our Lucille Ball.
she is so f*** brilliant lol

I believe she had some health issues that prevented her from working.
great podcast
next time don't hide the face of the guest with the mic
Where's the McClintalk? November 8th is around the corner and I must say, Ezra is hot so I hear. He should win
Great interview. I take it not lowering Tim’s mic for the shorter veep was a subtle nod to the dynamic?
5:15 Love her being there though next time, be concerned for camera blocking, mic placement. JLD beautiful face blocked way to much.

I still have a crush on her.
❤

Another flaw was that 'Baby Richard' looks like he's twelve when it is said that Selina died 24 years after she became president
Did you know they tried to cadt me in VEEP?
Totally did not know this existed wtf
Where does a broke person buy Julia's boots? Because I live 😘
Veep became significantly funnier starting with Season 4. Apparently they changed writers and the show runner after season 3.

Jeeeus that first question.... Blah blah blah
Lmao
It's my own fault, I'm only on Season 4 and of course got spoiled on a character's fate. I've learned my lesson. oops.
Matt, STOP TALKING OVER YOUR GUESTS!!!! It’s so annoying!

Does Tim know he has ADHD?
@@MollyMitchell-l9e Tim absolutely knows that.
Good lord, he's just as much of a rambling bore in reality lmao
what's it like being so broke and so powerless
