Oh my. It looks real and now it sounds real. Boomer, so, so well done. I have always felt of the You Tube model railroaders Luke Towan did the best productions. I have felt you were right there but this absolutely puts you on top. Just excellent dear Sir.
Boomer! I have been model railroading for years, however your tutorials, talent and perspectives have been so inspirational and have changed my approach to modeling. I can’t thank you enough for taking the time to share!
I'm in the planning and acquisition stage of a layout and have been wrestling with what to do about sound. The obvious answer is to do what everyone else is use DCC, sound cards and little speakers. BUT very early in my efforts I came across a seldom used system that uses full sized speakers around the layout. While not 'scale' sound I really think the immersive quality and depth of real speakers is what gets my blood going. This video REALLY enforces that for me.
Full size speakers must sound awesome! I believe Lance Mindheim mounted a sound decoder (*some time ago) under his layout and wore headphones at one point in reference to the very thing you mention. Anything is possible for sure. Thanks for sharing! Cheers.
Boomer , I want to thank you for the inspiration you have given me to revive my interest in Model Railroading. I like you are more interesting in the modeling versus the operational aspect of the hobby . After seven years , I have returned to the hobby at home after working in cultural center type train layouts. So I'm here with my blank folding doors,, which I think makes a great flat shelf railroad structure, especially when modeling old Florida railroads. My theme is to take an old long absorbed and abandon rail line in the Tampa area , like the Tampa Bay and Gulf ( became Seaboard) and "what if" this railroad survived through current times. I love that SD38 you built and I maybe creating one of my own using your approach. Anyway thanks again for your shows... Cheers Mark G.
You are most welcome Mark. Your Florida layout theme sounds fantastic with the potential of some small water features as well. Cheers and nice to have you aboard! ~ Boomer.
Every time I watch and listen to one of your video posts, I say “It can’t get better than this…”. Then it does. Congratulation on a spectacular view into the master modelers world! Your passion is apparent in all you do. Thank you Boomer!
Dear sir.I dont normally comment, but,,this is just the next level.A lot of us think that because we run sound equipped locos, that is all we need, to sound protypical, but no,its ALL the sounds, including a slowly moving car/cars,which include screaches & squeels as well as coupler clash.Couldnt tell that this was an operating model,or real.Photography was spot on,weathering. This is the ultimate.Thankyou .
I live within football throwing distance of a spur that gets hoppers of some kind of aggregate. Can see it if I climb on my roof. Your sounds are spot on! Fantastic
The loco, rolling stock, structures, and scenery are really, really great. And the sound track takes it to the next level. Congratulatons on all your hard work! Cheers from Wisconsin.
It's about time! 😉 You know, some days I'll get home from work and I'll be too tired to even bother looking at the layout - other times it's just enough to start a loco up and shunt some wagons from one road to another, maybe 5 minutes worth of work, but it's always enjoyable. That's what this video put me in mind of, bravo sir.
As a modeler, I only require a ten minute ops session here and there. But it sure is fun. I imagine I'll have even more options once I press the Barge service into operations! Cheers.
Excellent video as ever. I watched and listened to that in surround sound 😀 and to say that I forgot it was a model wouldn't be a lie. I think I said to you before that I'm in the UK and model The Polish railways but because of your outstanding tuition, workmanship and encouraging comments to everyone on every level I've decided to make a start back into North American modelling in HO. Thank you for all you do.
This video demonstrates why I model the way I do. Especially within the smaller footprint on a shelf style diorama layout. I don't need a large expensive (burn-out) layout to enjoy everything about modeling a railroad. Glad you like it. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and have fun in your new pursuit! Cheers ~ Boomer.
Thank you. It was either the Bear Crossing sign, or the Flooding sign. I chose the former. ;-) . . . and yes, there are bears and floods with barking dogs in the area! Cheers.
I'm getting better. Every angle and shot is different though, especially with video. Furthermore, miniatures are an incredible challenge to film as well. Thanks.
Great sound, really adds to the atmosphere. I swear I could see the rails lifting after the weight of the boxcar being pulled from the Cold Storage spot 😁
Cool stuff. Small note: a crew would never get this close to a derail in derailing position, even if they don't intend to cross it. At CN, the rule is 25 feet.
Man, that was awesome. It felt like I was immersed so deeply in the (Canadian) scene that I needed my (US) passport. :) I know what you mean about not being able to wait. I am trying to be patient and do one thing every day toward getting to the layout build. Hopefully I've picked up some skills and ideas along the way, from your videos and the others I watch. Keep up the good work!
It must have taken you a good amount of time to create this video and sync the actual sound to it. Thanks. Very much enjoyed watching this amazing detailed scene.
Cheers Ralph! It reminds me of the old B.C. Hydro EMD's switching Carlings O'Keefe, in Kitsilano, prior to us waiting to help ourselves on a warm summer evening . . . lol.
There is a grown in dirt road under the Extractor. It goes straight through and is used to fill truck tankers. Then the truck drives off scene to the left, around the building, like the prototype.
I was wondering did you record the sound affects your self? Or are all those sounds on the sound decoder of the loco? Either way very effective, great.
I recorded these sounds myself from the prototype locomotives locally while switching industries in Langley, B.C. I keep my camera handy all the time for situations like this. The actual sounds are from both of the units I currently run GP9/MP15 - SRY Rail Link.. ;-)
Are you gonna make the building lights Orange like high pressure sodium street lights and great video I like the pre recorded audio adds even more realism 🔥
Does your detail have the ability to be unlocked and put in the dirt or in the non-derailing position? Love the AC rust and the bear family crossing as well as everything else
Yes. The Derails are functional. The Tutorial on how-to-build one is here: ua-cam.com/video/QAHyiilV-YU/v-deo.html Part 2 is here: ua-cam.com/video/WsTxg1UisSU/v-deo.html
Went back and watched a 2nd time, and noticed something that didn't fit. The trash container by the de-railer, it looks good there, but doesn't fit there. No way for trash contractor to pick it up....just an observation.
Oh my. It looks real and now it sounds real. Boomer, so, so well done. I have always felt of the You Tube model railroaders Luke Towan did the best productions. I have felt you were right there but this absolutely puts you on top. Just excellent dear Sir.
Wow! Thank you very much Tom! Cheers ~ Boomer.
Love the Bear Mom & her pup crossing warning sign........Well done Booms!!
;-) Cheers.
the sound effects take the model to the next level. It`s hard not to believe your not watching the real thing.
I does feel cool to operate for sure. Thank you! Cheers.
I could watch this 24 x 7. Great railroad.
Thank you dear Sir! I appreciate the encouragement. Cheers ~ Boomer.

It's like you're there in person watching it so real fantastic cheers from Bruce blenheim south island new Zealand
Thank you! Cheers.

This is truly exceptional work. Golden hands and crystal clear vision - that's what you have. Thanks for sharing the journey - a dream!
Wow, thank you!
Wow ! I beleive it was O scale : what a crazy patina ! So realistic ! many thanks for sharing : )
O (1/48) Scale is a great scale to model in.

Holy cow, your bearings even rotate! I mean the whole thing is amazing, but those bearings and your track details put it over the top.
Thanks 👍
Love the bear crossing sign!
;-) I put it back in. I like it too!
Excellent marriage between prototype sounds and modeled movements. 😱👍👍👍
Many thanks!
@@boomerdiorama Welcome 🤗
That’s awesome! The weathering on that Solid Cold car is spot on.
Thanks You! 👍

That must be cool if you like trains for sure. I am not far from a mainline crossing so I hear trains all day. ;-) Cheers.
I gotta say man, your sure know how to put together a realistic vignette !!! Superb !!!
Thank you very much Steven!
Very nice some birds singing would completely sell the illusion.
I thought I had some crows in there but they must have been drowned out by the Geep ;-)
Incredibly immersive switching! Your channel is very inspirational.
Happy to hear that!

Thank you Andrew! Cheers ~ Boomer😁
Unbelievably addictive. Amazingly impressive. Thanks for sharing. Nice 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Amazing and just listen to that throaty diesel sound of a vintage EMD locomotive, and the groans, squeaks, and moans of old tracks! Awesome!👏👍✌️
Thank you Gene. I love the sound of EMD GP 9`s for sure. Especially when they are still currently in operation. Cheers.
Nice piece of shunting there Boom, love how you got the weight right when coupling, with no push on, cya round too
Thanks 👍

Nice to see some operations on this awesome board, it looks so realistic and the sound just added that cherry on the icing on the cake
Yes. It's nice to have a little space to operate in! Cheers.
Aaah , the big payoff eh Boomer! Great production ,sound , lighting ,the work. Worth the wait. AAA Cheers
Yes indeed Fred! You know it! Cheers ~ Boomer.

Glad you enjoyed it
Fantastic how you sync'd up the sound and the movements of your train! Great job! :)
Thank you very much. It was actually a lot of fun for a change . . . lol. ;-)
Awesome mate. The sound effects make the video, as does your stunning modelling. The diorama is starting to come alive
Yes indeed it certainly is Brett . . . and it feels good after a year of intense modeling. Cheers
Great sound effects. Fantastic. Cheers
Amazing for a simple "Rode" mic eh? Just plugs into a regular camera and transforms the sound. Cheers.
Exceptional video Boomer. I felt like I was sitting river side doing some railfanning right along with you. Take care. Sean.
Glad you enjoyed it Sean. Cheers!
Like all good movies, the magic is in the sound effects
Yes indeed it certainly is! Cheers.
My gosh !! What awesome sound effects and love what you done so far. Keep it going.
Thank you!
Another AWESOME video from Boomer!!! Great sound effects and a really nice add to the realism. Keep up the great "awe inspiring" work. Cheers!
Will do! Thank you.
Spot on with the sound effects, very realistic. Well done!!
Thanks for the visit!
Outstanding video, the scenery and sound effects are worth make this video pop.....nice work, well done!
Thanks for watching
About as realistic as you can get probably the best I've seen and from the sounds nice to have that kind of a layout nice work
Thank you. The initial start for the first year has been a grind but I feel more settled in now. Cheers ~ Boomer.
A lighting expert also, my o my.

A pleasure to watch 🙏

Scenery terrific, sound great, hope to incorporate something like that on my layout........one day.
Go for it!
Neat that you recorded the audio yourself, and a nice touch at the end with your own voice: "See you around"...good editing!
Thanks! ;-)
Ment to say I'm from blenheim south island new Zealand like the sound effects awesome
Welcome from New Zealand! Cheers and thank you.
Simply gorgeous...
Thank you. This is proof you don't need a large layout to have fun! Cheers ~ Boomer.
Absolutely - SPOT ON!
The only thing missing was blue exhaust smoke!
Did “Mouldy Rasberry Thursday” come early??? 😉
Lol . . . ;-)
That's so cool Boomer!
It doesn't only sound like the prototype, it looks like it as well!
Excellent editing!!!!!!!!

Awesome scenery! Great video production. Your background in the film industry is obvious.
Thank you Jerry. Cheers ~ Boomer.
Great editing Boomer, Just keeps getting better mate, outstanding modelling.

Thank you kindly!

This is not CN. It's a class 2 short line. They don't even play by the same rules. They also charge their own freight rates as well. Cheers.
Prototype speed and coupling action and in your beautiful scenery. Very well done!
Thank you very much Steve! Cheers ~ Bpomer.
That weathering!
;-)
Thank you for inspiration. Sounds are on point.
Glad to hear you are inspired! Cheers and happy modeling. ~ Boomer.

Thanks to my cheap external "Rode" mic. I can't believe how good it is plugged into a regular camera. Cheers.

Awesome scenes. One question (and I don’t mean to be facetious) but, how does the garbage truck get to that dumpster?

What decoder is generating the metallic sounds of the rolling stock? Is it inside a sound equipped freight car?
It's an ESU Loksound V5 Decoder. F-7 activates the wheel squeal. ;-)
