Herman is talking to people all over the world using his radio. But he thinks he's talking to a Martian.
A family of friendly monsters having misadventures and never quite understanding why people react to them so strangely.

6:13 Herman is the funniest when he gets excited like this lol
Fred was brilliant. Nobody else could have played that part.
You are correct!
Soooo true
Fred Gwynne was Ingenious.
if the series kept going theyd have to replace herman fred wanted to quit
If someone else had. You'd say the same about them
Can confirm as a Ham, we all do the little happy dance when we make a contact.
Esp when it's with a Martian lol
A new dxcc 😂
How do I send a QSL card to Mars? Does NASA have a QSL bureau? 😂
00:10 For all you OLD PEOPLE, Ham Radios were the INTERNET BEFORE THE INTERNET came into being...Even though, their popularity has decreased somewhat there are still Ham radio operators ALL OVER THE WORLD..
I am one of them
These days, there are more hams licensed than any time in history.
@@tahoma6889 dropping the morse code requirement helped that
Yes..been there
It's coming back in popularity
As a Ham Radio operator and a baseball fan, this episode and the episode where Herman tries out for the Dodgers are my favorite Munster episodes of all time!
I had walkie talkies at that age in the 1960's. They worked for about 1 block if you were lucky, but they were fun.
In 1966 I made a fake one with a rectangle of wood with a hole in top for a car radio antenna. Later I got fake plastic army style walkie talkies. Finally got cheap real ones.
Hmm. I've got a smartphone today. I can talk to anyone all over the world. So...there!
@@thudthud5423 I have a ham radio and I can talk all over the world without cell towers or cell companies.
Omg !! Thank you for bringing these Munster Episodes out of the dust!! Such memories from when I was a kid, in life’s hard times it’s so nice to take a trip back when you were a kid and life was all about that little paper bag of penny candy and playing Spud and watching the Munsters after school !!! You’re great, thanks again!!
Totally agree 👏
Herman jumping up and down is how I feel when I make contact with a station 1000 miles away!!!
My farthest DX was Uruguay on 20M FT8 from NY state
I literally operate a pirate and my dipole got a S9 in North Japan 5000 miles away you guys are amateur's lmao. Been in the hobby three months. SSB 60 Watts.
I made my first cross Pacific last weekend from west coast US. Blew me away when he responded. And I was only using 30w.
God bless Fred... One of a kind
Man in Australia listening to Herman in 2023. Still loving the Munsters.
Fred Gwynne was just an amazing character actor.
I can't see anyone else from that time in this role.
What a talent.. wow
Grandpa and Lily too.

Great cast all around..
Herman was so goofy‼️
"can you read me" with those antennas i hope so
My favorite show of all time!!! Herman and Grandpa are great together!!!!!! The writer's and producer's are genius !!!!!!!! I use to run home from school, to watch!!!!!!!🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤..... They should make more show's like this, NOW!!!!!! 🥀🥀🥀🥀 2022..
Kids (including Herman) having good clean fun. My sister and I used to enjoy our walkie-talkies as well!!
You can't even get the Roller Derby on it. LOL
Herman Munster... Best TV Character Ever.
This is the reason I became a HAM operator and hold a General class license. Can run on UHF/VHF and HF, HF is able to reach around the world. Little known info, radio waves travels at the speed of light. 186,000 miles/sec
I've been a licensed amateur radio operator (ham) for over 50 years... I get a kick out of this video every time I watch it.
This was the episode that got me into Ham Radio and Electronics.
Wonderful voice Herman….
My Favorite TV show I'm 58
"🤣...with his ears"!
3:37 its Arnold from the andy Griffith show.
I believe that the other kid was Tex who ran away from home and was staying with Opie...
Sounds a lot like the voice of actor Vito Scotti.
Marilyn was a knockout!!!
Indeed she was
Absolutely Fantastic even today I remember this episode
Fred is such a sweet decent guy and I’d be glad to have them as neighbors
Priceless
I like that Herman always gets excited on things. The Munsters brings God memories.
Good motors.
And the spelling award 🥇 goes to....... NOBODY.
They are so very Godlike.
man, thnx great episode clip👍
I've always loved, this show , it has all eyes open message, probably one of the best short lived shows
This show used to be on MeTV or Antenna up until last year, but was taken off. It should have been left on there. I watched this new, as a kid. I still love it.
Watch the Munsters on Cozi TV
Thanks 🙏 So Very Much For This Upload It Brings Back So Many Of My Childhood Memories ! Such Great Days Were The 60s & 70s ! 😇
9:28
LOL!!!
Mars? Now that’s a DX
She wouldn't have to ask me twice when she says come to bed
As a ham , I got a kick out of this. We do not say over and out , though. That is only in Hollywood. Tim , KB0VQP.
2:47, was that an Italian raspberry on the amateur airwaves?
Yes. Lolol
Ive just watched a similar episode on Bewitched.. It even looks like the same spaceship
I watch them every day on get tv
They could never remake the Munsters today. The casting, writing and music was brilliant and Hollywood today is nothing more than trash.
100% accurate. Besides can't remake a classic without ruining it
And of course a Martian would speak English with an American accent lol
Yes
Comment Deluxe, with fries! Will ya wake up ya dummy lol
If the grandpa is lily's father and herman's father in law.. Why do both lily and herman call him grandpa.. Surely only Eddie should call him that?
I was confused about that too.
I guess it's because he's an old bat? 😉
In my family, we all called my father's father "Grampa." Except for his son, my dad, who called his father "Pa." Even my mom called her father-in-law "Grampa." When my mom became a grandmother, her grandchildren called her "Lita," which was a shortened version of the Spanish word for grandmother, "abuelita." Then, some of her own children, a couple of my sisters, started calling their mother "Lita."
Families invent their own traditions for coming up with affectionate nicknames.
Your Majesty (that would be Queen Elizabeth ll then) She was so popular she was even mentioned in the Munsters.
Yes, _The Munsters_ was the thing that put her on the map. She NOTHING before this...
I just now caught this, but why would the count (grandpa) have a mirror in his lab?
Because it's his home. When a vampire is invited into a house or lives in the house he can be seen in mirrors. The biggest question is, how can he go outside in the day time?
@@misslesley9482 How can he go outside during the day? It's Hollywood, who would think this family could coexist. A Frankenstein, a Dracula, a Vampires daughter, a little kid Werewolf & a normal average girl. Never question comedy, Mash could have no way ever existed in real life. Bewitched the same thing.
Sonny Zaro says the guy with the cartoon image for his channel icon. ....
oh, wait a minute.
Here's a better question: why does a vampire from Transylvania sound like a Jewish guy from Brooklyn?
Best comedy
Ham and walkie-talkie are on a different range of frequencies.
Maybe Herman put it together differently than normal.
I don’t really think it matters
This is not true at all.
Right. When I was a kid , they were on CB channels. 11 Meters. Hams no longer have access to that band. The closest is 10 Meters.

It looks like Herman uses a yagi antenna up on his roof.
If he had only become a CW op, this never would have happened to him!
I'm jealous!!! Not only do I want to communicate with people all over the world, I also want to talk to people in outer space. Maybe I can meet some alien girls
For communicating with people all over the world: get a smartphone.
For communicating with people in space: Google "how can I send emails to people on the ISS".
For meeting alien girls: Keep dreaming!
Grandpa's very true words 1:13-1:21
🤣🤣🤣
Oh my!!! I feel sorry for today's kids. I mean really, all they do is stay inside and play video, computer games . I lived this life!!! Walkie talkies , made our own spaceships out of wood, cardboard and anything else our bright creative minds could come up with!!!!! Heck, we just had 3 weeks of the snow, and I travel a lot and barely saw a kid out in there yard playing in the snow. I.E snowman, snow forts, snowball fights!!!!! What has happened to this country????? Way to go ( fill in blank)!!!!!!
Kids still play outside. 🙄 Saw some playing basketball and riding bikes the last couple days. Every kid has different interests. I'm sure even back in your day, there were kids who preferred to watch TV, play with their toys inside, and read.
Doesn't Herman think it unusual that Martians speak English with an American accent?
Give me more
How can grandpa hear them talking when Herman has headphones on?
TLynn bat hearing I guess
Cause hes part bat
Some old radios have a monitor switch. Allows headphones for the operator (Elmer) and speaker for the person learning.
Did not show the best part. The Father says he is going to blow up the planet and Herman charges up the stairs thinking He caused earths destruction. ROFL!
Who makes these videos
Hahaha!
😊 😊 😊 😊
2022 Rules forever 👍.
