People hated Blade Trinity. Should've went with Wesley's idea where the vampires took over in a future story. It's not too late to bring Wesley Snipes back, and make an Old Man Blade film for Blade 4.
Agreed! Nobody likes to mention that but Goyer made Blade a supporting character in his own movie. Meanwhile Ryan and Jessica were featured prominently. I’d be pissed too. Coupled with the tax stuff and Goyer’s inexperience with directing altogether led a cluster f**k of a movie.
At the same time Blade 2 was Blade leading a team and worked so much better than Blade on his own. But if you become the leader of the team then you lead the team in terms of on set behaviour first there know all your lines train extra hard in the gym for your fight scenes
There he goes again, perpetuating the same BS lie. Wes didn’t get charged for tax evasion until 2006 and sentenced until 2008. Goyer used his clout as a writer/director/producer to shut Wesley out of the production process. Him and New Line used Blade Trinity as a potential launching point for a Nightstalkers spinoff nobody wanted then or now. The film failed because it was more of a raunchy action comedy than an action horror like the previous two films had been. It was Goyer’s directorial debut and it sucked because he didn’t have a vision for it and was too inexperienced. Jessica Biel has no charisma and Ryan Reynolds is acting just like Van Wilder the whole time, with the nonstop quipping. New Line and Goyer stole the franchise away from Wes even though he was a producer on the previous two films and had a say in casting and production. Wes was pissed because he was made a supporting character in his own film, the third of a franchise. Not to mention he was working with a first time director who didn’t know what the hell he was doing. The guy had never directed a commercial or short film, let alone a $65 million dollar film. Rather than admit he shouldn’t have directed it, Goyer passes the buck to Wes along with Patton Oswalt and every other person involved.
You speak the truth! Plus Wes was an executive producer on Blade 3, so he should've had a say in things, but they made it out like he was just the star actor with an attitude problem. He was pissed because he got sidelined in his own film smh
Goyer is a bad director but Blade Trinity was his sophomore effort and follow up to Zig Zag, which was his debut. Wesley co-starred and produced that too.
The first two movies didn’t have the Marvel logo but Stan Lee and Avi Arad were executive producer and Stan has visited the set. Marvel and New Line were promoting the movie at San Diego ComicCon back in 1998, the first X-Men didn’t have the Marvel logo as well.
Yeah, Wes was a bit of a dick on set with that movie with how he handled it all, but I, for one, do not blame him because they were trying to sideline him. I don't think his beef with some of the cast was a fault of theirs; I just think Wes felt they were taking the limelight from him, and Blade was getting watered down to Scooby gang adventure. How much of that was David or the studio? I have no idea. It might well be that David and Wes may have got on if the story had been better, or maybe they would hate each other no matter what; we will never know. The interesting thing is that David worked with Wes a few years before in a film he directed. They seemed to be happy to work again with each other, making me feel that more decisions were given to David, which caused the rift. It's no excuse, but the fact Wes was so pissed shows how much Blade meant to him.
Goyer basically was in love with Ryan Reynolds at the time, he wrote a script for him to play Flash and said he wanted him as Thor, seems like Blade was supposed to set up a spin-off for Hannibal King which maybe annoyed him.
I think Spike Lee should’ve directed Blade 3 over Goyer. Would’ve been cool to move the setting to New York for an urban thriller in keeping with his roots.
That being said I enjoy the movie. There’s a lot of good stuff in there. It’s funny and I like how the extended cut ending leaves it open that maybe Blade gave into the thirst.
They tried to play Wesley snipes i l remember when they was prompting the film and u can see the posters for the film he wasn't on some of the movie posters he's the reason why the marvel films got started
Blade Trinity sucked regardless of how Wesley Snipes behaved while making that film. That dude could have been an angel and that move would have still been a pile of crap. David Goyer you made a crappy movie, so stop blaming others for your work (own it). You cast a bunch of TV actors at the time. This is 2004 and I remember watching the trailer going - the guy from Two Guys and Girl is in this movie? Wait, the guy from Prison Break? Is that the hot chick from that WB show? Wait Triple H in this movie WTF. And the host is smoking left wing crack. He’s parsing Daivd Goyer for making/casting a black man in a movie made for a black man, Does this tool have no idea that Wesley Snipes produced the original Blade and how big Wesley Snipes was in the 90s. Blade would NOT have been made without Wesley Snipes. And Wesley Snipes has stared in movies with larger budgets than Blade.
People forget Wesley Snipes was a well established and successful actor in the 90's, one of the highest paid actors as well. Wesley Snipes a big name before Blade.
@@mr.lukecage7405 Wesley's name is the reason why people went out to see Blade. That's something Hollywood forgot, making movie stars with talent and charisma.

I seriously doubt Wesley Snipes has “zealots” in 2024. This is just fans saying what should have been said at the time. He worked to build that character into a moneymaker for two movies and then they tried to make him a supporting character in his own film because they thought a white cast would make even more money. I’d be offended too. His instincts were right.

Look at how much of a trash fire the development of MCU Blade, Wesley could save the MCU but Bob Iger wants to sink the ship.

Goyer tried to make a spin-off for Ryan Reynolds & Jessica Biel, not a Blade movie. If I was Wesley Snipes, I'd be pissed, too.

you cant blame it all on Wesley # the script sucked big time
The only thing i HATED about BLADE 3 was how they made DRACULA a beast demon from hell, as opposed to a cursed man.

Didnt he write a Venom movie script that got cancelled also a Ghost Rider movie script
He also wrote a Flash movie script with Ryan Reynolds attached to play Wally West, and that script is excellent. One of Goyer's best piece of work.
He also wrote an unfilmed Doctor Strange script. Ghost Rider actually got made as Ghost Rider: The Spirit of Vengeance.
