    I like your humor/ attitude , im looking at wire harnesses for mine , but i aint tore it down , i didnt know they had that plastic loom on the wires on the inside , thought i was looking at the wrong part ..i keep popping the transmission fuse , and i noticed mines starting to leak from the inside , i heard thats common , everyone ive had does it ..luckily im in florida and i got a heavy duty hoist ..

    Hey Man. This is a great video! All other videos regarding the 4L80E are confusing, misinformed and bad video vantage points. Yeah u did a good job with everything. I actually now fully understand what I need to do to my truck. Thanks man. Make some more videos. 😁👍

    I have a 91 4wd i don't drive much the connector is leaking im going to epoxy where the wires come thru the harness because i believe it leaks thru shorting to ground and the transmission won't shift out of low,I'll order another new harness harness and see how i come out,thank you for your share!!

    Replacement of the filter sleeve is often not required. Just test fit the new filter. Feel snug? Yep. Then it's good to go.

    No dielectric grease? Installed mine and immediately blowing trans fuses.

    Nice detail in this video, I'm having trouble pushing the main connector back into the hole. Any advice?

      It was tough, lube that o-ring with either oil or a light coat of grease, I had to take some pliers and GENTLY twist and pull it thru, it was the last 2mm or so that we’re real tight

    Hey... quick question.... ever see a broken dip stick tube? Is this another common problem

    • @hodgepodgegarage3911
      @hodgepodgegarage3911  3 роки тому +1

      Have I seen it yes, is it common, not sure, I’ve seen one bread where it goes into the trans, however that’s usually due to it not being secured, there’s a tab that a bell housing bolt secured to keep it steady and if the trans has been removed before sometime it doesn’t get bolted back down and I’ve seen it break because of that

      @@hodgepodgegarage3911 mine is bolted... yet broken above the bolt... very hard to find around here and only sold with the transmission

      I'm worried about moisture getting in there and want to fix the problem.... but fluid is very clean and has been changed often... only 242,000 kms.. red as new... mechanic owned

      @@andrewbeveridge3006 hmm that’s an odd place to break, unless you have a junkyard near by I’d guess hop on eBay lol you could always try to piece it back together with some jb weld or something but I doubt that would be a permanent fix, I wouldn’t be overly concerned about moisture unless rainwater could get to it, the trans is vented so I mean it’s always exposed to a little atmosphere moisture, you could always get a rubber plug to cap it in the meantime

      @@hodgepodgegarage3911 thx for the info. My truck transmission wire plug is leaking, I’ve just found that out, I’ve just had B shift solenoid stuck on , no fourth gear ⚙️. I’ve just ordered the B solenoid and a new wire harness, hopefully it’s not a valve body issue !
