For newer players the mechanics do not really matter if you do not have the DPS to kill the boss. Newer players will have Thunder Cage, Excava, and ... Tamer. with 1 or 2 Formas
I would hope By the time new players reach invasion, they will have DPS. You can't do invasion until you complete the campaign and unlock hard mode as it stands right now. Thx for the feedback!
I have officially stopped playing the first descendant because they got rid of matchmaking and cooperative. If I can't do any of these without going through a chat box for hours trying to find a squad it's not worth my time
What character are you using? How much health do you invest on your character? You should not get 1-shot in those missions, they are easy, you just need to build your character with some survivability. Or maybe switch to a different character if possible. Those missions are not the best design to be clear, but they are easy after the patch.

I couldn't beat the boss on the first mission to discover Hailey lol.

ya my thundercage is maxed out and my ultimate Viessa is maxed, and still unable to get thru the boss shield for Kingston invasion.
All boss shields should be removed and mob damaged reduced significantly.
The shield on bosses can be annoying for sure, but with the right character set up it's not that bad.
No kidding, I've had easier times with killing hard mode bosses vs the invasion boss. They make it ridiculously difficult.

lol...I hear you, they plan to make it matchmake; but for now, if you can do it solo, there's no reason not to.

I was under the impression that I have to do it solo. So is it required to be solo or is it an option to invite people?
They plan to make it matchmaking, but right now you can only do it solo, all by yourself.
