- Scorpion EXO-T510 Helmet Review
www.revzilla.co...
The Scorpion EXO-T510 Helmet is a helmet that comes in with an entry-level price point, and a punch that is way out of its price range. In typical Scorpion fashion, the EXO-T510 is far more advanced than its price would indicate and is without question one of the most value-packed options on the market. From the premium polycarb shell that has been engineered to reduce weight and adeptly disperse the forces of impact around the skull in the event of an impact, the feature-rich T510 is going to be a staple of the industry for years to come. Additional features that showcase the high bang-for-your buck factor can be seen in the SpeedView internal sun visor, EverClear no fog faceshield, and the AirFit internal liner adjustment system that allows for a more custom fitment that can be altered on the fly.
+Seadogdoc: Don't be concerned. Many helmet cheek pads have the plastic tab that helps hold the pad in. For the speaker wires, you just route the wires along the inside of the shell gasket back to where the cheek EPS meets the EPS that covers the base of the skull. That's about where the cheek pad plastic tab ends, so there's no interference when you then route the left side speaker to the left speaker pocket. For the right speaker wire, you can route it around the back of the neck or over the head between the EPS and the padded head liner to get to the right speaker pocket. Hope this makes sense! -DrewZilla
Anthony's really starting to blend his whole "where you can watch, decide, and ride" into one word hahaha
I went down on the freeway in this helmet. No concussion. I’m looking forward to the T520
No ECE rating is not a nitpick. DOT is a lowest common denominator that depends on self-certification. Since one never finds a SNELL rating on an internal sun visor helmet, ECE and Sharp ratings are really important distinguishing factors.
always a good job when he does a full detail helmet review!! ups for the guy who always wears the same t-shirt.
Was waiting for this to come out... But then i found an R410 Hi-viz Airline for $99. Kind of glad i jumped the gun as the price point for the pre order exceeds some of Scorpions current advanced options around the web.
Still it's a beautiful helmet and i don't think any other company comes close to the ammount of features you get with Scorpion for the price point.
LOL Reebok don't get mad that I'm talkin about ya, 1987.
Great review as usual.
this helmet does have a city position if u rotate the face shield lock clockwise
Another wicked video. I've been looking forward to this helmet for ages. For the quality and just how much they jam into this helmet for the price point it's an unbelievable deal. Going to be going through the licensing/safety course process this summer and this'll be my first helmet. Gonna' be great
Thank you Anthony this review is very helpful and I am very glad I discovered your channel and website. Subscribed
I know Anthony stated cheek pads have cutouts for use with Bluetooth...but I'm concerned about mounting an SMH10 and routing the speaker wires externally to inside as the cheek pads appear to have a plastic lip which insert into the sides of the helmet. Appreciate your feedback on my concerns. BTW...Great Review!
man that graphics are cool
Great review! Would you happen to know when these would be available for purchase? I saw on the RevZilla website that you're only taking pre-orders right now, and that the helmet isn't even available on the Scorpion website. Thanks!
+Vestatora For any pre-order item on RevZilla, you can select the size and color, and we'll list the expected date of availability right on the product page. In the case of the EXO-T510, we expect it to start shipping mid-November, so that's just a week or so away! Hope this helps! -DrewZilla

I got the same helmet..only other decoration. Good video.
i bought this helmet from revzilla.. i reviewed it on revzilla and they removed my review because i gave it 1 star. The helmet in my opinion is garbage. The noise level is atrocious. It is the loudest helmet i have ever used. I would consider ever doing business with a company that would delete negative reviews.
Hey RevZilla! I just found your channel/website, and I'm a big fan. I'll get it out of the way, I'm a greenhorn to motorcycles, getting gear for the MSL course, and am stuck between the Scorpion EXO-T510 and the R-410. I like the look of the 410, but I like the intake vent ports a lot better on the 510, and the tinted visor is an extra perk. That being said, I'm seeing more negative views on the 510 than the 410. Any thoughts between the two?
I actually really like the EXO-T510 and its drop-down sun visor. The advantage of the EXO-R410 is that it's Snell-rated and less expensive, but then you don't get the sun visor. If you want a sun visor, I do recommend the EXO-T510. -DrewZilla

I know this is an older video but i hope you can still find the time to answer my question. I'm looking to buy this helmet, my head size is 56cm but it has a more round shape, left to right measures the same as front to back. Would you still recommand this helmet for me? I was thinking of getting a size M. Thanks!
Hi, I'm torn between the Scorpiom 510 and the 920. What helmet do you guys recommend to use daily for commuting?
I like both honestly. It really depends whether you want the modular flip-up chin bar feature that the EXO-GT920 has. If you want the slightly lighter option, go with the EXO-T510. -DrewZilla
Is the internal sunvisor a dark smoke from factory? Looks dark in video.
+itubrrr It's a medium tint internal sunvisor. -DrewZilla
nice vids! why do you always use the same t-shirt?
+Christian Leonardo Vergara Marin Continuity...and that's the only shirt he owns. -DrewZilla
is this better than the Scorpion EXO-R710?
Not necessarily. The T510 uses a polycarbonate shell like the R420, so the added cost is due to the internal sun visor. If you don't need the internal sun visor, the R710 has the nicer fiberglass shell (and Snell rating). -DrewZilla
@@RevZilla oh thanks. sounds like the 710 is made a bit better then.
Can anyone tell me how wide this helmet is from the left to the right side? (I need to fit it in my personal locker at the gym)
Change gym
Is it noisy, or quiet?
Is it OK in the hot weather? ie cool, with the vents working well ?
With the vents closed , does it still feel cold... So Is it too draughty in winter.... giving a cold head?
Does it leak or drip inside when raining heavily, eg from leaky vents even if closed?
I
It's slightly quieter than average but not the quietest. The vents do work pretty well in hot weather while also closing off enough to not feel cold in winter and not drip in the rain. Additionally, the face shield uses a spring-loaded mechanism to create a good seal, so it does a good job of keeping rain out. -DrewZilla
Is there any way to fix the sun visor disconnecting from the inside of the helmet? Somehow the level doesn’t pull down the visor anymore
ok...I have no idea what this dude said at the intro...
Any chance these will come in large sizes? The only helmet I can find that fits is a XXXXL HJC. I'd like a few more options.
+Mike Elliott It's unlikely they'll come any larger. Consider these 4XL linked below. -DrewZilla

I haven't looked yet but does this have anti fog for shield. if so, it's a winner for me, for year round commuting.
+KawaSexyNinja Yes, it has an antifog shield as standard. -DrewZilla
So what, if anything, is the difference between the EXO-T510 and the EXO-510 AIR?
The T510 is the DOT-approved version for the American market. The 510 Air is for the rest of the world. -DrewZilla
Awesome! :D Thank you for clearing that up
You guys always talk about the head shape being 'Average American', I'm Australian.... So what would be the 'Average' head shape be?
+DA2THFA1RY It would probably be pretty similar: intermediate oval like this Scorpion. -DrewZilla
+RevZilla Thanks for the feedback 👍
you can't use it at the track, correct? Thanks
Many track day organizations would not allow it, as it is neither Snell- nor ECE-rated. I've linked our selection of Snell and ECE helmets below. -DrewZilla

Would this be a good helmet for a dual sport. I don't want a normal dual sport helmet because I don't want a peak. However I do want something meant for an upright position and easily removable face shield
+Clayton L Yeah, you can remove the shield easily, so it could work for you. -DrewZilla
+RevZilla okay thanks for the reply, this is probably what I am going with
Would you guys recommend this helmet for cruisers? if not, any suggestions?
Yes, this helmet works just fine for cruisers. -DrewZilla
Hey guys,
any chance there is a new version of this helmet?
I just bought the Exo 510 air today from a local shop in my area, there is no double d-ring (its the seat-belt like type), there is a build in pinlock, a build in headphones spot in the inside of the shell, and the manuals says ECE approved, not DOT.
other than that, the shell looks pretty much the same.
No, there is no new version of this. The EXO-510 Air is the European ECE version with ratchet closure and Pinlock. This EXO-T510 is the American DOT version with D-rings and coated anti-fog shield. -DrewZilla
over a year old but, I want to buy this helmet/ head measures 59cm - intermediate to long. I tried the T1200 and the large was to small (chin didn't feel covered) XL was too big. does this have the same fit as the T1200?
Yes, this has almost the same fit as the EXO-T1200. You may want to consider the AGV K3 SV in size large (LG), as it has a longer/lower chin bar. -DrewZilla
*www.revzilla.com/agv-k3-sv-helmet
would this be a good helmet for like sport bike riding around town not really trck racing on like a 600cc sport bike
+Randy Hollett Yeah, it would be a great option for street riding. -DrewZilla
Would the 510 be quieter than the 710? or about the same for every day riding in the up position?
I find the 510 to be slightly quieter than the 710 for upright riding. -DrewZilla
*www.revzilla.com/scorpion-exo-t510-helmets
thank you
Nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Do they offer a pin lock shield for this helmet
Scorpion uses EverClear Anti-Fog coatings on their faceshields in lieu of the PinLock lens system. -TeamZilla Chris
I got the Harley version the thing fogs like crazy. I found out the t1200 shield fits... So there's a pin lock shield for it
AGV K3 SV, Scorpion EXO-T510 or HJC IS-17 for Daily City Commuting?
Please help me with your valuable suggesion.. I am really confused.
All three helmets are good for commuting. However, for everyday comfort features, I like the Scorpion. The sun visor mechanism for the HJC is a bit too loud, and the AGV can fog up more easily. For me, the Scorpion does everything just right. -DrewZilla
*www.revzilla.com/scorpion-exo-t510-helmets
Can confirm for the most part. I've owned a k3 SV and I'm now on a exo 510 and the Scorpion is a lot more commuter friendly, especially when it comes to pinlock. The pinlock on my agv didn't work all too well because it wouldn't seal properly so I'd get fog spots everywhere. The scorpion visor has a dedicated indent to allow the pinlock to fit snug and work perfectly. The scorpion is also a more forgiving shape if you wanna fit a camera or Bluetooth headset because the AGV is concave and pointy
Damn Adam Levine got buff
Are there different visors I could get for this helmet?
So I can have a mirrored visor for the looks And the sunvisor inside?
+TKay the EXO-T510 takes the following shield, so yes, there are mirrored options. -DrewZilla

RevZilla Thank you very much!
Can you fit a kwikwick 3 in this 510? The 2 is not comfortable at all.
Unfortunately, no. Scorpion only makes the T510's internal liners out of the KwikWick 2 material and not the 3. KwikWick is just the name of the material used but the more important part is the snap locations and overall design to make it work with a helmet model. If you have any other question or concerns, please feel free to reach out to our Gear Geeks at 877.792.9455 or CS@revzilla.com. Ride safe, -Pat
RevZilla Thanks
Ls2 arrow or scorpion exo 510?
If you want an internal sun visor, get the Scorpion. If you don't need an internal sun visor, consider the LS2. -DrewZilla
why does he insist on mumbling his intros?
You say it thousands of times, you'd mumble too. LOL
+Coty Moto because this.
+Anthony Bucci OMG a celebrity replied to me!
Coty Moto a youtube celebrity?
sick of them probably
the 3 shell sizes... how are they divided between xs-xxl?
The division is XS-S, M-L, and XL-2XL. -DrewZilla
awesome! thanks
Also, the odd thing is for me is that the XS cheek pads fit perfectly but I have to size up to a S on the head piece and my head measures exactly 54 cm
I'm looking for a fullface helmet with a inner shield. I would like a thicker neckroll because on my Bell Revolver evo that is where I get my wind noise. I'm looking at the exo T510 and a few others any suggestions?
The Shoei GT-Air is really the best of the best in this category, especially for remaining quiet at speed. Coming down in price a bit, the AGV K3 SV is a fantastic value as well and has quite a loyal following. Definitely check those out! -TeamZilla Chris
*www.revzilla.com/shoei-gt-air-helmet
I will check them. I ride a Yamaha Raider so I'm looking for a full face with inner shield and one made more for upright riding.
+RevZilla wizards, I watched Anthony talk me into this lid, and just barely ordered this helmet from you guys, and made my choice between the R710 and T1200 from the Scorpion line. I ride a V-Star 950 tourer, and wanted a helmet better suited for touring. With Scorpion, is there a big distinction or noticeable difference between their racing and touring helmets, when in the full upright position? Also, I felt that the extra $100 for a slightly lighter helmet and the KwikWick lll liner wasn't worth the extra money, with my ramen noodles, college lifestyle budget. In short, between the T510, T1200, and the R710, is this one a wise choice? Would you recommend any other ones based off of my previous concerns? Thanks!
+Kyle K. I think Scorpion provides some of the best bang for the buck on the market, so that being said, if you want the internal sun visor but want to save a bit of money, the EXO-T510 is the way to go. It works well in both 3/4 and upright riding positions. If you don't need the sun visor, then you can get the EXO-R710 with its fiberglass shell for about the same money. It will also work quite well in an upright riding position, so there's no need to worry there. I don't think you need to spend more for the EXO-T1200, nor would I recommend anything else. The 710 and 510 are my favorite helmets around $200. -DrewZilla
+RevZilla Thanks a lot for the honest input!
What's the deference between it and between R710 ?
The R710 uses a fiberglass shell and does not have an internal sun visor. The T510 uses a polycarbonate shell and includes an internal sun visor. -DrewZilla
so which is better , the fiberglass or the polycarbonate shell?
and which one is compatible with racing ?
Fiberglass shells are generally nicer, so you'd want the R710. The R710 is also more suitable for racing. -DrewZilla
What's the deference between EXO-T510 and EXO 510 Air ?
The EXO-T510 is the DOT-rated version sold here in the US. The EXO 510 Air is the ECE-rated version sold in Europe/outside the US. -DrewZilla
This or agv k1
It really depends whether you want an internal sun visor. If yes, then get the Scorpion. If no, then consider the AGV. -DrewZilla

+RevZilla would you recommend this for a 2011 ninja 250?
+3spooky 5me Yes, absolutely. The EXO-T510 would work well on almost any bike in the 3/4 to upright riding position. The Ninja 250 has an upright riding position, so go for it! -DrewZilla
Thanks! cant wait for you guys to stock up! also get in contact with Anthony and tell him I challenge him to arm wrestle haha, but thanks again
Did you guys know where you get a replacement breathe box for the t510?
Scorpion USA doesn't list a breath box for the T510. If you purchased from a non-US dealer, I recommend asking them. -DrewZilla
Is the breath guard and breath box the same thing?
No, a breath box covers your nose and mouth and is used for the snowmobile version of some helmets. The breath guard is the little piece up by your nose. Scorpion doesn't list a part number for that piece, but you may be able to contact Scorpion directly to see if they have any. -DrewZilla
Thanks for the info
so new it's not even on scorpion website.
+KawaSexyNinja Exactly! -DrewZilla
hy, I am looking for a new helmet, which one would you recommend between exo 510, exo 710, hjc is17 and nolan n86/n87? I will be driving a naked bike soon
+Bojan Horvat If you really want an internal sun visor, get the EXO-T510. If you don't need an internal sun visor, the EXO-R710 is the best option. -DrewZilla
*www.revzilla.com/scorpion-exo-t510-helmets
*www.revzilla.com/scorpion-exo-r710-helmet
T510 or R710??
It depends whether you want an internal sun visor or not. The T510 has the sun visor, while the R710 does not. However, the R710 uses a bit nicer fiberglass outer shell construction, while the T510 uses a polycarbonate shell construction. The R710 also meets the private Snell safety standard in addition to the required DOT standard. -DrewZilla
RevZilla you guys are the best!
No city position, no sale!
There's a lever on the left side that does crack the shield for a city position. We're sorry we failed to mention it! -DrewZilla
@@RevZilla how? What lever?
Aggressive my ass. EXO 500 had so much better graphics (not this silver...nothing paint). Those new helmets might be more advanced but graphics sucks, some zig-zag lines like on zillion other helmets. Get some good old EXO 500 graphics and then say it looks aggressive. BTW front vent look way better on old model (in black matt of course like in this new model)
this guy speaking some strange language not english
Very bad helmet, and absolutly not save!! Not recomended! I have one of this...
