I'm glad to see there are not a lot stupid coloured bricks inside. What surprised me more though is that Lego used COBIs approach to building ship hulls. Nice choice in my opinion.
@@letsbuildofficial COBI builds ships from the inside out. Although Lego didn't copy their technique exactly they used " bricks-on-the-side" building techniques to make the deck look like wooden planks. COBIs hulls also consist of slopes fitted in "stages" towards the bow and stern to get a stepped but uniform hull curve.
Dear, Lego Please stop with the propaganda of sending LAN members sets with paper bags so it looks like you are being environmentally conscious, but the sets we all buy in stores are still filled with plastic bags.
@@epitsdfel that is what they said last year, but the US LAN members get the paper sets as well now. SO Lego is purposefully sending out paper bag sets for review.

That's the problem with Lego, compared to it's competition, they scare away from more complicated building techniques to keep costs low and profits high. These are sets of adults. A little bit of a challenge and more so the surprise about something new, I've never been doing before, would be nice.
No worries. To be honest, I got excited at first when I heard you say it was 1/70 scale because that meant it was the same scale as the Lego Discovery Space Shuttle and I could display them together if I got the Endurance.

They're ahead in the EU (these sets are always from the EU), while the US market is a bit behind.

The visible studs on the main deck are a no go
I usually prefer the studless look, but in this case, looks just fine to me.

Isn't this 1/55 scale and not 1/70? If the ship is 44m long and the Lego model is 80cm, that would make it 1/55.
