Same here... very nice tutorial and really appreciate de work but maybe it should be mentioned in beginning of tutorial about the plug in. :)
I know it's probably more popular for people to want quick and to the point tutorials but I would totally pay a monthly membership to have access to these same videos but more in depth. For example, I'd love to know why it's necessary to create that initial mask animation or if it's possible to do the swipe reveal in the reverse order so as to avoid having to do the time reversal. I know I can just try this out but yeah it'd be neat to hear your reasoning as you go through the effect.

I think you guys may have to do a 2021/2022 version of this.. As 'Particular' is obsolete.

This is an amazing tutorial, but I ran into a snag with Trapcode Particular. If you get the error "After Effect error: Particular cannot work on a time-reversed layer" go into the advanced comp settings and check the 'preserve frame rate when nested' box. I went through all 4 comps and changed the setting and then I was able to reverse the time and render everything.

Awsome 🔥🔥🔥 Pls... 1 question, Why u need to make mask and Liniar wipe? Mask is mask and linear wipe is effect, how they affect each other?
Great video however I would definitely recommend showing which shortcuts you are pressing as you need to assume that tutorials such as these are for complete beginners who have no knowledge of shortcuts

Problem with precomp. Because its changing scale of new comp. YOUR DUG same as main comp and pre-comp. But my logo not like in the black square like you dug. Its became small, transition leaner wipe dosn't work. I dont know what the problem.

Looks like there is a major issue regarding the time reversal. You might have to render just the partical effect as a png then re import that video and time reverse that itself to get the effect of the particals dissolving into the logo instead of the other way.

Hi. I have a big problem.
When the motion of the particles begins, and they move until they turn the logo into particles, until the logo disappears, the logo design is seen again at the same time. In the bottom layer
That is, as the particles move again, the logo appears as the mask moves.
Where did I go wrong?

Hello. Thank you for tutorial, have problem.Particles does not work correctly, they dont fallowing path mask and just making particles from original source. All option's is same from you tut. I would really appreciate if you give me some advise how to sovle this problem.

Really great tutorial, just have one question, when I put in that shape in the beginning, I get a Line that is really visible and so when the particles start to shatter I have a clear line from the box, do you know how I get rid of that line?

I am new to Afterr Effects, and I don't know much. But for some reason when I set ut the time line to 5 sec after making a mask, the mask(I mean the rectangular borders) just disappear, and all the rest procedures become impossible after that.
When I did this tutorial for the first time, it didn't dissapear, but then I've decided, I need another logo...
Now this rectangle just disappeares (T.T)

How to match up the timing of the linear wipe on "logo" with the masking on the "logo reveal" so well? Mine is off and I keep trying to adjust it manually by moving the keyframes on the wipe effect. Thanks.

This video is so much help to me! Now that I followed exactly as the tutorial and make a text sentence with this effect, how to add another sentence like this? It's some sort of video subtitles that I wanna make, but I don't know how to save it as a template? So for each subtitle I only need to change the text content without redo it all

I don't know why but your project file is not opening in my after effects ....
when i go to effects> RG trapcode> it doesn't show up "particular" it shows up 3d stroke, shine and starglow ???
I think you'll have to go back to your Red Giant Installer and choose to install 'Particular' - you probably only chose those three when you were installing, rather than the entire suite.

You have to buy the plugin from Red Giant.
After I tried to reverse time I got an error saying: After effects error: Particular cannot work on a time-reversed layer (512) (2 25 :: 237 ). Any Ideas how to fix this?

I tried out these effect but the particular doesnt follow the contours of my logo and starts somewhere in the logo. I used a png without any backgroundcolor.

Hi, I get error on Time reverse, "Particular cannot work on time-reversed layer" i tried on both AE CC 14 and 15, please help! any alternative for this effect?
You could try rendering the "Logo Animate" composition by itself with an added background color that is NOT used in your logo or particles, then insert the video file of the Logo Animate back into the Main composition and use a chroma key to remove the added colored bg so that it is no longer seen, then doing the reverse time layer. I hope that makes sense. I had the same issue so it's what I'll be doing.

Make sure to pre-compose and check "move all attributes into the new composition." You can also download the project file in the description if you are still having trouble.
in downloaded project comes error (particular canot work in time revers layer)
