"2 Maccabees 15:4 talks about the seventh day. We believe the day of rest is Sunday - the seventh day. Why do some religions believe it’s on Saturday - it’s their sabbath day?"

Timestamp 3:00 "Sunday is expressly distinguished from the sabbath which it follows chronologically every week"
Great explanation. I co worker of mine is a 7th Day Adventist and does not work Friday or Saturdays because of the Sabbath. I never understood that because they are Christian.
are they christian? you can only change the identity of Jesus so much before that identity becomes something/someone entirely different.
They deny the Trinity and the divinity of Jesus. They are not Christian.
@@meyrickkretschmer260 Thank you. I will have to look into that religion more in depth.
@@meyrickkretschmer260that is not correct - the trinity is one of their Fundamental Beliefs.
@@patriciacinea3097 "The Sabbath is a day of delightful communion with God and one another. It is a symbol of *our redemption in Christ,* a sign of our sanctification, a token of our allegiance, and a foretaste of our eternal future in God's kingdom."
Ok, this is confusing. I understand that we fulfill the third commandment and honor the Sabbath day of rest and worship on Sunday, but I was under the impression the Sabbath was never changed as it was for the Jews in particular. But as Christians, we honor and obey the moral obligations to the third commandment on Sunday due to it being the Lords day
Yes it is confusing that Catholics think they can honour and obey the obligation of a moral commandment by ignoring the literal sense of the command.
The 4th Commandment directs us to keep the Sabbath day holy. The true Sabbath is Saturday. Don’t buy the misinformation spread by people who have chosen to disregard scripture. The Emperor Constantine changed the Sabbath to Sunday. No man has the authority to change any of God’s directives or neglect his Commandments!
Jesus was crucified on Friday ( Good Friday ) scripture records that “ the next day, Saturday”, the women wanted to go anoint his body, but could not “because it was the sabbath.”
The 3rd day, “Sunday, the first day of the week”, they went to Jesus’ tomb and it was empty. He had arisen.
This is recorded in the books of Mathew, Mark, Luke, and John.
The true sabbath is Saturday, no man has the authority to change the sabbath!
Learn your scripture, do as God has directed us.
Sunday is the Promise Seed fulfillment; that we can enter the Promise Land of rest. Book of Jushua. Amen
Pray for me and I'll pray for you.
I thought it was that the apostles and first disciples, as Jews, would observe the sabbath, and then celebrate the Lord’s day, together, with the mass. Jesus’ work was finished when He said so just before dying on Good Friday.
Yes the apostles and first disciples all observed the seventh day Sabbath after the resurrection.
That’s not true I believe that it was Constantine, the great that moved church from the sabbath to Sunday
The sabbath was created by God and blessed by God it's the only day God blessed and it's Saturday. You can't move the the day to Sunday. God only blessed Saturday sabbath not Sunday
The Sabbath became Sunday when the Jews entered the Promise Land because the sun stood still.
yes and after that Christ came and restored the Sabbath day by keeping it and restoring it for all ages.
