    Ik this commentbis late but I am so glad I am not the only person who will use a plushie as a pin cushion for the needle while sewing.

      @@dollphinwing If you wouldn't mind, would you please make a horns and claws video for plushies! I really wanted to add claws to one of my favorite black cats, and a couple horns to a dinosaur for my lil' bro. It is okay i you don't want to, or don't have enough time.

    Omg it would have been perfect if you'd had sewn it's neck and head up on the bottom, attached Velcro to the neck and under the head, and make it purposefully a headless horsecat! :0000

    I’m semi new to sewing and was wondering if you had any tips for making the body like that (in a sitting down form) . I’ve been struggling to find a tutorial and just any tips in general to that so I’ve just been sticking to round plushes but I really wanna make something like that !

    • @starfoxandstellar9917

      look for videos on adding a "skeleton" inside the plush so it is posable. Another tip would be to maybe make your plush's body less round and more rectangular. You could also create your plush's torso and adjust where the legs would lay aka where the hole would be for a permanent sitting plush.

    What weight thread is best for sculpting?

    • @dollphinwing
      @dollphinwing  3 роки тому +1

      I tend to use 40 weight thread, I've also seen people use embroidery floss too!

    Hey can I ask how do you make sure both eyes match on either side and that none are crooked or pointing off the wrong direction. I can't seem to make mine match. No matter how hard I try and I am on a time crunch for a birthday.
    I looked online but there doesn't seem to be any tutorials for this.

    • @dollphinwing
      @dollphinwing  2 роки тому +1

      How are you doing the eyes, embroidery? You would embroider/applique the eyes first and then trace your pattern on the back of the fabric (use a template with a hole for the eye so you can line it up)
      If it's something like safety eyes, you can put a dot on the back of the fabric and cut a teeny hole. Attach the safety eyes before assembling the head if you can.

      @@dollphinwing I am embroidering each eye with my regular sewing machin by hand. On seperate pieces and then attaching the pieces of the face together after. And sometimes they don't match up. Even when I lay them flat next to each other with the felt eyes pinned on each seperate piece and swear they line up.

      @@dollphinwing omg template on the top. Does that work on fuzzy fabric? Why didn't I think of that! I was printing it on a paper then placing the paper underneath. But the fabric is rosette minky and doesn't show through. So I was failing.

    • @dollphinwing
      @dollphinwing  2 роки тому

      @@kitkatxk2814 I used to do something similar, but minky fabric is slippery so the eye sometimes moves out of place when you go to sew it.
      Does the rose minky have a backing you can draw on? If it's double sided you could also pin the paper pattern down securely in the right spot and sew a loose straight stitch around it.

    Hello can you help me. I have a Zeraora plush 30 cm and I want to copy ot and make it a life size. My idea is to put some duck tape and trace it then the pattern I will make it big then sew it. Is it gonna work or nah? Plus I want it to like it have a skeletal inside do you know what is it? Thank you! ありがと!

    • @dollphinwing
      @dollphinwing  2 роки тому

      Yes, that is a good technique and lots of people do it that way. Just cover the plush in plastic wrap first so you can get the tape off after! Then you can make a test of the pattern you trace, make sure it looks ok before you increase the size.
      For the skeleton, you can make it using PVC pipes. That will make it stand up.

    • @dollphinwing
      @dollphinwing  2 роки тому +1

      @@ShiroKemono It's the wrapping you use for food. It will protect your plushie and make it easier to remove the tape after you draw the pattern.
