Fourtrax 250R on Choke Cherry, St. Anthony Dunes

- Choke Cherry is the big wall at St. Anthony's Dunes in Idaho. I'm not certain on these details, but I've read that the approach is roughly 285 feet tall and almost vertical, with the higher side on the right, topping out at 500+ft. Having gone up all of it, I can confirm it is extremely tall and steep.
This is the hill that always gets compared to China Wall in Glamis, and while I'm not a dune expert, I'd definitely agree with the people who say Choke Cherry is "a lot more hill". Enjoy!
The camera does not do it justice, it’s so much steeper and higher than it looks! I’ve seen a lot of machines and bikes not able to make it to the top.
I couldn’t agree more! This hill is a monster- the sort of challenge the many riders won’t attempt and many bikes can’t climb. I’ve never seen a video of Choke Cherry or China Wall that capture the reality of such an extreme experience.
Nice! The sand is nice near the top. We'll be there next week with couple R's in the group. Hopefully the cornices are crisp.
Awesome! I was hitting Choke again 1 hour ago. Monster dune. So much fun.
All that 🧈 Damn that looks like fun, especially with only two whoops at the base 🤘🏼
It’s a good one! If you like hill climbing, then grab some friends and head out there. I went back to Choke Cherry about a month ago and I swear it never gets old.
@@RetroRiders_250R_Magazine was just in Glamis on Saturday. So so good. Bucket list to get up your way!
@@santeebandit3246 You hit Glamis often?
@@santeebandit3246 I'll be in Glamis next month.
Nice 250R! I was riding St. Anthony's September 2021. Can confirm choke cherry is tall and steep.
Thanks brother! Looks like we have the same taste in bikes! You like the 250 or the banshee better?
@@RetroRiders_250R_Magazine Yes we do. Man, that is a tough question! One I couldn't answer, so I own both. They're both awesome quads, that I have a blast on every time I ride them.
I’ve been there
It's a great place to shred. Thanks for watching!
Longlivethefourtrax250r
Indeed.
Did you go to devils stair case when you were there
We did not. I was only there for 4 days and I didn't have time to explore everything. My quad has a 40mm carb on it, and gets horrendous gas mileage, making it harder still to explore. Is the staircase worth going to?
That’s a very steep hill. How high is it?
I don't know the exact height. I googled it when I made this video. It kinda depends on where you hit it. In the video, when I run up the front of the wall it's around 285ft and then rip across the side, I'm still going "up" the whole time. I think I top-out somewhere around 500ft. I'd love to go back with a good GPS and track the exact run.
that´s a nice atv, you have done a great work. I´m working on mine trx250r 1987, but it really needs love, it was trashed for a long time, but now its breathing again. I would like you see my video, and give me you opinion about it.
Saw your video. Man, you weren’t kidding, that bike needs some work but wow, tons of potential. See you in the dunes sometime.
@@RetroRiders_250R_Magazine thanks a lot, i will be posting my updates! have a nice day!
@@Mcbone_Inc. I’ll look forward to seeing the updates. Cheers!
or big boer
Little bigger. 310. Thanks for watching!
is it stock bore?
It’s an ESR 310 top-end, ported and polished, with a weisco crank, and a 40mm polished carburetor.
Oh ok in a week I’m taking my stock bore bike with led pipe 36mm carb grieve reeds and that’s it. Do u think it could make it up choke cherry
Lmk when u can lol
@@rickbush8550 I’m 185 pounds and I’ve hit Choke Cherry on my stock 250R 3- wheeler. It has the same 36mm carb. So long as you have a paddle tires, you can gut-it-out. Have fun and post a video on your channel!
