This is a great video. I was looking for something like this before I performed all of this. Very informative and accurate information. I recently flushed and change my transmission oil and filter. The rear of my FJ would shake when changing gears. Took it to Toyota stealership they couldn’t find the issue. After I performed the transmission oil change the problem disappeared.
Need to replace differential breathers, sorry if was already mentioned. My rear breather was rusted solid... this causes pressure to build inside during operation and you can blow out the gaskets on the axle. Front ones are on a tube and is higher up .. they were fine. I also changed the transfer case fluid to Ravenol, which meets Toyota spec and is a synthetic fluid... I found that it shifts a lot smoother after the change and it reduced the lever shaking by about 80%. Keep an eye on the steel tube for Transmission fluid cooler that is under the radiator; it is prone to rust, I had to replace mine due to a pin hole puncture from rust. ** Rust spray is a must evry year. Replace all idler pulleys (they're toast after 80k miles) and belt. Sandblast and paint any under carriage rust as it appears.. I use a paint called Steel-it. These trucks are worth the extra care. Have fun!
Just tightened those 4 bolts and added a little grease. Great info. I had that lunk when stopping and accelerating for years. Seems to be gone. Thanks man.

This guy just bought an FJ and is already a guru! Wow!
Awesome how to video. Thank you!
Dude …. Nice tips. Thanks for helping out the “FJ” family. 🤙🏻✌🏼
Extremely helpful!
My cabin filter was horrible on my 07 when I got it! Good work pointing that out.
Also check out the Valvomax drain plug. It's a lot more advanced than the Fumoto. Scotty Kilmer loves it.
Awesome, Thank's for your video!!
Thanks for checking out the video!
Some real good info here! I’m looking for an FJ as we speak!
don't forget to also change the engine filter
Great video. Do you have a link for the valve you used on the oil pan?
Any worries that drain plug hanging down lower than OEM and get broken off by a rock or something?
Very informative video. What is the name of that drain plug? Can you put a link? Thanks
What lube did you use for the drive shaft ?
Change your pcv valve
Okay, I'm in
Nice fj!!!! How much did you purchase for?
