Like you, I was never a Toyota fanboy. I always drove German cars and bought an FJ as a winter vehicle...now I only drive Toyota, and my wife drives a Lexus. The FJ is amazing. There are several FJ's approaching one million KM's.
Another thing I like is my '11 FJ has no Tech, No safety warning crap, no driving modes, no warning sensors, Unless you call a 1" Back Up Camera tech...🤣 Although a Plush new Lexus would be nice for Date Nights.
@@UncleFjester Precisely. No tech. Although as I am learning, the SRS system is sophisticated. We're swapping the seats to Scheel-mann. The tech in the Lexus is implemented flawlessly and is non-intrusive. It's a '22 NX 450h
@@UncleFjester They require a seat bracket. There are a few companies that make them which fit the Scheel-manns. But all the wiring and OCS systems make it less bolt-in. It will be worth it when it is finished.
I truthfully was looking at Jeeps but then I remember those days watching my dad laying on the ground cussing and arguing with his Ram constantly leaking everywhere. That helped me with the way of the Yoda. Yoda is the way.
Same results here Jeff. The only thing I might add is this. The 4.0 toyota engine is almost "bullet proof" however... pay particular attention to the transmission. Yours like mine is the 5 speed auto. Great tyranny but can run higher than wanted heat intervals and it is a "closed system" and somewhat of a pain to service..
I’ve got a 2010 fj with 416k miles I do my own oil changes. Haven’t had any issues with it other than it’s starting to burn oil. I use mobil 20k oil and have since I got it with 37k Only change the filter every other oil change. If I got the 20k in between the oil changes my oil looks slightly darker than what you showed. I plan of driving it until it dies.
I'm amazed, and that rarely happens! 300 miles since my Oil & filter change @ 97K miles and the dipstick still shows clean oil. In my 911, I can go a mile or two and the oil is already showing blackish.
@@UncleFjester they are incredible machines aren’t they? I honestly think my next one will be a JDM imported full size Land Cruiser it will be expensive but I figured I’m 40 now by the time it will die I will be well in my 60s. Oh and another thing that is unbelievable I buy transforce HD Firestone tires and run balance beads and I get 150k plus miles out of a set of tires.
Al Gore made the 1st Synthetic oil in 1969 🤣🤣 That said, I think we could put day old coffee in a Toyota Engine and it would run fine till the next oil change.
@@UncleFjester haha yea exactly 💯 My understanding is that AMSOIL was the first to have an API certified fully synthetic motor oil. Correct me if I'm wrong. That is why they have the "First In Synthetics" slogan. It was back in 1972
Golden joy!
I’m approaching 200k trouble free miles. My oil looks like that too.
I love FJ Cruiser!
Great truck. I will keep mine forever.
Well done...Uncle 👏👏👏

Is the new seat a bolt in replacement or does everything become custom.

I've had this for over 55K miles, 5 Oil Changes, one set of Tires and one set wiper blades.
I never looked once at a Fiat Chrysler

Firestone is whats Unbelievable... 🤣🤣🤣
Congratulations
I have 240k currently and about 5k into my last oil change and my dipstick still looks like that.
For a second I thought a weather balloon crashed in to your house.
Yeah, That was a little over dramatic, huh?
Would you recommend a 2007 with 265k miles? Saw a decent deal 13k. Everything else around me is 30k!!
If the engine sounds good and rust undercarriage isn't bad, Hell Yes! You could drive it for 5 years and sell it for the same!
Does that stubby antennae work as good as the original?
I've never noticed any difference
amsoil 5w30 signature series is the best

Is it Automatic Or Manual?
Automatic
@@UncleFjester Nice!
