    Okay, I'm in 1:56. He has selected the wrong oil grade for one of the best Toyota's ever manufactured but isn't going the extra mile and buying the fluids and oil filter from a Toyota parts counter. Expensive, yes, worth it, yes. I believe you'll find that it's generally recommended to check the automatic transmission fluid level but don't change or flush the fluid, just top it off if needed. Since I'm not going deeper in than the point I stated I do not know what was said but do replace the rear and transaxle fluids and of course the air cleaner and cabin filter and top off the brake and power steering fluid if needed. I'm not knit picking when I say to stick with OEM products. Toyota engineers their vehicles as an integrated unit and it's best to keep it as original a possible. When you buy an FJ you are paying top dollar, so why risk it.

    • @Mindokwin
      @Mindokwin 9 місяців тому

      It is the right grade oil for 2007. After 2010 with the engine change they changed the grade to 0-20w.

  • @speedlever

    One suggestion using the Motive Power Bleeder is to fill the brake fluid reservoir with fresh fluid after initially sucking out the old (I use a MityVac). Then just use the Motive to pressurize the system with air. Keep an eye on the fluid in the master cylinder so it doesn’t run low and top off as needed while you bleed the brakes. That will save you having to clean out the brake fluid from the Motive container. Also you can attach the drain can with the attached wire to your lug nuts and just loop the tube above the bleed screw to get your air escape space.

    • @elijahh2258
      @elijahh2258 6 місяців тому

      If you do run low on fluid in the brake fluid reservoir, do you just unscrew the Motive Bleeder cap and add the fluid there and then re-pressurize? Or do you add the fluid directly to the brake fluid reservoir (again having to re-pressurize the bleeder)?

    • @speedlever
      @speedlever 6 місяців тому

      @@elijahh2258 The Motive Power Bleeder is designed to hold the fluid inside the pressure vessel and push it out to the master cylinder forcing out the old fluid. But I find it more convenient to suck out the old fluid from the master cylinder, add new fluid, then attach the MPB and pressurize. I have less clean up to do that way. And with the correct adapter you can easily release pressure, unscrew the adapter on the master cylinder, add more fluid if it runs low, then screw the adapter back on and repressurize the MPB and continue bleeding with fresh fluid.

    Love this channel, just came to an agreement on a 1991 300zx twin turbo with 52k miles, garage kept, no leaks, in absolute mint condition, completely stock except for new exhaust with clean car fax. It does however need the 120k service by age and that was factored into the price when I negotiated. Certainly paid a premium at 24k but was listed originally at 34.5k. This was my favorite car in high school and plan on keeping a long time and putting money into it. I wanted as clean a base as possible. Can't wait to get it in my possesion

    Just almost finished my motor tear-down, all I can say is simplify everything you can while it’s out haha. Merlin engineering do a AN water line conversion for cooling loop on the turbos which look the goods and would probably increase the cooling capability of the turbos. I’d also see if you can go the r35 coil conversion by polar engineering if you already haven’t, but other than that she looks solid mate 🤌
