- In this episode we will be listening to The Cold Wind. The second song from Greta Van Fleet's Sophomore Album 'Anthem of the Peaceful Army'.
Another fantastic, BANGIN' Rawk 'N Roll tune!!! Super swagger filled riff. Makes me wanna MOVE!!! Lyrically it's about the season I dread the most... Winter. Leave me in my bed today. These boys know the pain. I've lived my entire 40+ years in the Chicagoland area and it is absolutely wretched. I like that they made the song upbeat and not dreadful. Sorta reminds of the concept of the Grandfunk Railroad (I believe they're also from Michigan...) song, 'Winter and My Soul'.
Cant wait to hear the rest of this album!. So far, soooooo good!!!
Few years ago they’d open their shows with this song. Packs a big punch.
Yeah it’s amazing; first song I ever heard from them live back in 2019.
I love this song. You should definitely watch their Red Rocks Amphitheater show when you finish the album.. these songs live are AMAZING

Love this one, definitely agree. Don’t much like snow or cold, but it’s nice to look at unblemished.
Hehehe, I’m in Upstate NY, and I’m right there with you on hating winter! Love that this song is about something totally unexpected., i.e., pioneer life, but it still rocks nonetheless. I’m holding out hope there are some rockers on the new album, but we shall see. Thank you again for continuing your Greta reactions!

Anthem of the Peaceful Army is Greta Van Fleet’s debut album.
The title, Anthem of the Peaceful Army was originally a poem written by Josh Kiszka. Later, when they had started recording their debut album, he realized that the poem embodied the meaning and purpose of the album. In a press release, the band has detailed a list of themes that the album explores, with everything from fresh starts and adventure to courage, myth, and truth being covered.
So, is From the Fires considered an EP?
