My husband and I live in a brick and motor tiny house 953 sq ft with one bathroom, a single car garage, on a slab, semi flat top, no central heat or air. we have gotten so used to this size and its great to be so stream lined and “free” compared to my friends and family. we have a small yard, perfect for a nice sized veggie garden and two fruit trees, its drought tolerant (no lawns) and low upkeep. Has a outdoor area to entertain on and for grilling. its perfect for two aging boomers. best of all its paid for, all the appliances are energy efficient, we’ve installed new doors, windows, roof, wall heaters. (i love that our stove dryer, heat and hot water are all gas) we don’t live crazy extravagant and we always have expendable cash cuz our cars are paid for too. its all good and it fits our way if life. Happy we downsized!

I watch so many tiny house videos. This one is the best. So many of us keep saying, (maybe not out loud,) we can't do that; whatever THAT is. Life is too hard. I don't have (emotionally, physically, monetarily) what it takes. I confess that I am one of them. So many hard issues but also so much wasted time. I can't do it -rings in my head. But here is someone who could be angry at the world, yet he choses to grow and care and take care of himself. He's got to be a great friend to have .I don't know if this sounds corny or not, but you just made my day. You made me think and encouraged me. Bless you Jon.

What stood out to me is how Josh chose a smaller footprint than the average size tiny house, and I'm curious whether being incarcerated for so many years in small spaces influenced his design ... intelligent, practical, functional. Happy trails, Josh!

You know Josh, you may have just stumbled on the perfect solution for a lot of people that have been in trouble and were incarcerated, especially when they were young. I think your ideas are fantastic and healing, as well. I would think that a lot of people leaving incarceration would benefit from something like this...and you have time to think about yourself and what you really want for yourself...and sometimes that doesn't include "stuff" at all, but rather a different mind set and how to really enjoy life. You have done an awesome job and I so hope that others needing to find themselves, see this and realize that anything is possible. Take care and God Bless, Josh and yes, I am so glad that you exist and also that you have found your warm and comfy spot in this crazy world. Thanks too, Dylan for doing such an awesome job and filming Josh and his beautiful talents too!!💖🙏💖

Janet Browning you were just for me as well, and you get it, you really do. Yes absolutely 100% my tiny house was my escape from recidivism. And many others could do this. But leaving everything behind and starting completely new, on the road is so scary to most that they won’t. The sad part about recidivism, is that people gravitate towards what they know.

    • @janetbrowning9089

@@artisanjosh5178 Yes, you are absolutely right...it might take folks like you to open their eyes and let them see what is possible. I wish you all the luck, Josh...I am so happy for you, that you have it all together now...I'm sure it's been tough...but, you seem to have overcome a lot of the obstacles that prevent others from seeing a way out. I sorta akin this to the dog training program that some prisons have started...anything to grab the attention and keep it, for people that have a hard time seeing their way forward. I am so glad that you have found this and it has worked so well for you...hopefully others will come here and see this by "word of mouth" and they will also find their way to true freedom too.💖🙏💖🚐
