This family of five transformed a Thomas Saf-T-Liner school bus into a remarkable tiny home decked out in navy and white decor. The L-shaped kitchen has an abundance of storage and impressive appliances. In the spacious living room, you'll find a couch suited for several guests and a removable table providing more space when not in use. Momma gets her own vanity in the main bedroom, and the three kids decided on hanging monkey bars in theirs! They made the center hallway convert into a master bath holding a toilet, tiled shower, sink and a secret escape hatch! Not only does this family enjoy their minimalistic lifestyle, they also support others' dreams by building custom conversions upon request.

How awesome is this diy school bus conversion? The family RV life has switched to skoolies for a ton of families!

Yeah we actually have those curtains on hand, thought we’d install them on the road. But they haven’t wanted us to yet, which is awesome!

@@staceyogier6154 Sandra Westley from the UK our kids were just the same, they like being together, when they got a bit older in warmer weather they also liked there tent, and having friends over for sleep overs, kids love being together, I think it’s only adults that must have there own space.
Agreed! You've got to have your own space...especially the daughter. As one of 9 children from a traditional home...I can attest to that!

Their kids didn't look too happy. Hope their ok. First time I'm seeing this fam so maybe just wrong impression. I do love it very nice.
My thoughts too. Especially the eldest boy. It’s a beautiful home though.
I am a single mom and I have only been able to afford rentals where my kids have had to share rooms. They are very happy, have great relationships with each other, and know when to give each other space. Oh, and they are teenagers to boot.
When I have lived in a bigger house with them where they could and did have their own rooms they didn't like it and ended up deciding to share rooms.
Everyone adjusts to their environment, especially kids. Only in rich cultures and societies do people think that because someone has less, they must be miserable. I thought this, too, as I have raised my kids on my own, paycheck to paycheck. But my kids taught me otherwise, as I made it my goal to teach them that family matters more than anything you could buy. It worked and they are grateful, more balanced than most kids. They even work to earn their own money to buy their own things.
You don't have to live a life with big, fancy houses where everyone has their own room to be happy. Being grateful for what you do have is the real secret to being happy. Maybe this young man is in the process of learning that lesson! From some of these comments, it sounds like some adults could learn it, too!

Finally, a clever, dedicated little cabinet that contains all the electrical, but doesn't waste useful space. Super smart looking and low profile. And the restrained colour palette looks very chic.
Watching this powerful sweet mom on 2023 dreaming of build mine own looking for designs etc. Now watching her again on 2024 after my built is done to recap in her good advices & recommendations.. SAVVY MAMA ❤️

I like the way how they have a separate toilet area from the shower area, I'm just not crazy about your waste being right in the same spot that you bathe.

I think it brings the family closer together..and you get to communicate more and get to know each other...like in the so call good old days...
I respectfully disagree. You can live in a traditional home and still be close to your family - while being able to get away and have your own space.
The children seem well adjusted and the way they sat still and quiet while dad spoke. They are raising respectful people. This type of family dynamic happens when dad is a leader. He doesn’t have to be an alpha or strong personality to be a leader.

Great experience for kids. The school of life with great lessons in travel and nature. It may not work forever but it’s wonderful to be so close and cooperative!

Best bus I have seen. Love the bathroom solution. Where you put the kids bunks, I could see myself having enough hanging clothes space, FINALLY, and an art studio. I truly love this bus!!!!
I love the double bathroom idea We only have one bathroom now so if someone is taking a shower nobody can use the toilet, this idea is awesome Thank you for the inspiration

You should get the curtains like Navy have on their ship racks. At some point they are going to want the privacy that those give.

I think they look so awkward and uncomfortable. The boy in the white T-shirt looks excruciatingly embarrassed, but is doing his best to look and feel composed. The whole family is making the best of a taxing situation.

Had to go back to the beginning to make sure I wasn't watching 2 different videos. The use of space is amazing in this build. Simply incredible that you were able to fit all of those different zones in a school bus. Your family is awesome btw! Now to convince my wife and 3 kids that this is the way to go 🤞🏾.

Thanks! Yeah, he loves the build, and was a huge part of the process. The reason we did a build this large was to have plenty of space for him as he is getting bigger every day!
I did watch him quite a bit, to be honest. His expression kinda made me chuckle...such a teenager's bored look. Very recognizable and very normal. I did like seeing him smile at the end of the video. I think he's fine. But I agree that he most likely will want his own private space soon enough. Even if it's just putting a sliding door to make his bunk a private cubby bed.

I like the fact you both have grown to be aware of who you are and how you react with your family. This is I suppose the benefits of living in close quarters with your family. Back in the 80s I met a couple who were going to become fire watch people and were converting a school bus to be they're home when they weren't on duty. They were looking for rv appliances to put into it and I introduced them to my father who had an old cabover camper that he no longer used, he let them remove the old appliances from it to use
I think the parents are awesome. None of the kids look happy which is surprising, if I had parents like that I would be thrilled!
I think it's because they don't necessarily have any privacy. Still, the parents did a great job building this.

You did a great job with your bus build! You got my attention when you said you found a company that made the door for your basement storage. Our 1986 Mini Winnie is missing one but we can't find a replacement and nobody wants to work on an old gal like her. I could really use any info you have on that company. Thanks, and happy trails!

We need to love and help one another build our own communities grow our own food. Not make it all about money . Create our own resources. Public banks for the people . The beautiful children can have real school in nature. Learning from parents and they create their craft. That's living with purpose 🙏🏾 Slave jobs go away and you live from within🤘🏾🤎🤎 beautiful family. My husband and I have 32 years together. Our boys are Grown with the exception of a 18 yr old ☺️. We want to live for us Now❤️❤️❤️💯💯 I'm so glad I saw your video today. Inspired me🙏🏾
