- Hear the story behind Pete Huttlinger's concept album, McGuire's Landing. McGuire's Landing was recorded using ELIXIR Strings exclusively.
As I get closer to retirement I am rekindling my love of guitar playing and I inadvertently discovered Pete had passed. I am in tears. 😢
Thanks Pete for sharing your gifts and soul with the world. RIP
It's one of the blessings of social media that we can still enjoy his music.
What a simply beautiful man playing a tune that is so him.
Gentle and full of thoughtful little tuneful sounds.
Oh how we love and miss you Pete.
He once stayed with us during one of his concerts.
Dave and Pam from England
Rest in peace Pete, genius and lovely man x
I was honored to meet and hear Pete play the night he released this CD at Cotten Music in Nashville a few years ago. I was visiting friends and was invited to this event. I was there early, and so while he was setting up I had a chance to speak to him for a few minutes. He was so kind and friendly, to me a stranger. I will always remember him from that one evening. The day I heard of his passing, I felt I had lost a friend.
RIP my friend. Beautiful tune.
I'm always inspired by Pete Huttlinger. Inspired by the man as well as the music. Seriously, what a guy!
I only cam to know about him as I was looking out at the guitar vdos on UA-cam and this tune got me so spellbound that I fell in love with it... Then I came to know that Pete is no more... May his soul rest in peace and thank you Pete for such a great music....
Every time I hear it...I am left speechless. Pete, you are missed.
absolutely beautiful.. as always, a mastery touch. wish i saw him "live"... thank goodness for recordings
Very nice. Relaxing. RIP Pete!

One of most beautiful songs for fingerstyle guitar - I love it!

Beautiful melody....
Thanks Pete; Thinking of you :)
Merveilleux... Paix à ton âme !
beautiful
wonderful....!
beautiful, never heard of him, but I wish I had. He reminds me a bit of how Martin Simpson plays, for example.
RIP Pete… you too John.
Very nice
We will never know just how much more great music Pete could have created. Terrible loss.
Was his 50 page short story ever published anywhere. Would be interested to read it.
I bought his "LEARN TO PLAY THE SONGS OF JOHN DENVER" dvd series which is very good. You can see him in at least one of the songs, Calypso, from The Wildlife Concert here: ua-cam.com/video/YuO5PCgaaTM/v-deo.html at 2:49.
What is the tuning for this song?
It's DADGAD
@@mmiedema thank you...
What guitar is he playing there?
Appears to be a Collings OM cutaway.
Of course, why would the camera stay on a full shot of his hands? Very disappointing camera work for such a lovely song.
strange how americans seem to put an accent, a fake irish lilt into their pronounciation of Ireland.
you never hear those with welsh or cornish ancestry or any other ethnicity putting on a home land brogue when they
make mention of their place of origin .
it is mysterious to me why americans do it,
even it seems those with no irish ancestry or connection .
