anyone ballsy enough to ride a behemoth wave like that should be running for president. Fkn respect to the tow in dudes too, they are the unsung heroes of this sport.
I disagree. I don't see these as behemoth waves. I see them as fun playful swells. My only hesitation would be that cold water otherwise I'm definitely dropping in. I'm not a professional but I have been surfing for 28 years now and have surfed waves bigger than this. But maybe my growing up at Newport Beach since being a young child has made me biased to waves like this comparative to others. But this just looks like fun to me.
The wave is called 'Rileys' and is in Ireland. I won't say where, but it's featured in Mickey Smith's film 'The Dark Side of the Lens'. Check it out, it's incredible.
I think the first music is fricking awesome! This wave, which I have only seen, in person and on youtube, [I don't surf} is so just like a whiny beeotch. Like, "if you are gonna be there, and then I am doing something, what is this going to mean if my thing happens later?" Your response is "I am going to do this and IF I get worked at least you are doing what you want - ?right? She goes "Well - NO! See, you can't do that all the time! It is SO pointless! Doing that!" Watching these guys get worked for a 3 second tube spit before a vicious spin cycle... PERFECT music!
Amazing sense of balance to make that first wave - he should have quit while he was ahead. Unforgiving wave on boards and bodies. BTW, if that was in Sydney the jet-skier would have been fined/confiscated because it was within 200 metres of other surfers. Where was it filmed?
i wouldnt call it unforgiving.. the wave doesnt really close out, its real shallow making it a short hold down and theres a heaving current taking you straight back out onto the safety of the shoulder. yes its a massive wave and i wouldnt have the balls to go near it. kudos to the chargers
Actually the Music Works. Awesome footage of these guys with huge balls (even towed in) taking on these waves. Very Cool. A couple of those guys got lucky and didn't have too long of a "hold down", thankfully, course in those conditions.....
Pol who ride the wedge thing they know what heavy shorepound is like. Just because the wedge is the heaviest shorepound in California, just know that in comparison to a lot of other beachbreaks across the globe that make the wedge look look like it is merely training wheels for heavier waves. And I have ridden the wedge. It's fun, but not life threatening.
The take off is similar to other slabs like teahupoo or OURS. And people paddle into both. Yes, not all the time, but on swell size days like this, they do! Yes is extremely difficult and obiviously if the average surfer tried to take off on a wave like this they would be finished. There is a reason why experts and pros are generally the only ones found paddling into massive slabs.
@francisrampacek great story. There can be peace in the lineup even off the beach. I grew up to respect the uncles and learn from them at the same time share the waves with the kids. I guess I am not at that level yet to be more humble in and out the water. I still have much to learn. Thanks for the great story.. I guess frustration gets the better of you sometimes. Surfing should be fun at all levels I was wrong to make fun of these surfers on this video just having fun.
Your choise of song brings much sorrow to my heart
Jaben Betz because of the nostalgia?
Probably the worst choice of song in a surf edit possible
Definitely worst song ever
Guys chill, she just came to say hello
This music with this video is trolling at the highest level, well done sir!
great surf music..... what the fuck were you thinking
For real!
+Jason Voorhees You off to the gay bar?
hahaha
Sam Martin i

and the surf photogs too…swimming through that with a heavy camera housing to snap the shot for them to all share on social media

Sick video. Who cares if they're towing, nobody else is around and it looks like they're having a fucking blast!
Great footage and sound track. The Irish Pipeline!
Where at bro?
57 people found the slab forgiving,,, and possibly cute?
George Linn Probably actually found the music cancerous
She just came to say hello. The slab, however, came to say *AAAAGGGHHHHHH*
The wave is called 'Rileys' and is in Ireland. I won't say where, but it's featured in Mickey Smith's film 'The Dark Side of the Lens'. Check it out, it's incredible.
Who doesn't know this
This is bigger and better than pipeline!

Ouch and I thought 6 ft waves hurt...
Wow such a fun punchy little swell. Looks like a blast aside from the cold water.
sick song bro... i love these jams, especially to slabbing waves yeww!! \,,,/

Bobb Lawrence Now, Bobb, I've been called many things in my time - but 'bonehead'? 'Dork'? I'm afraid that this is where I draw the line son.
Flummoxed Grape Productions *Jiminy 😬 🤡

Total Respect. Unconditional.
I love that song.
haha love those wipeouts when the only option when you come up the other side is 'swim'. No time to get on board, plus it would be a disaster haha

No ! The music straight up sucks . What my 9 year old daughter listens too. I had to turn it off to watch it
I think you guys that are flaming need to experience being out there, its easily one of the heaviest and most dangerous waves in Ireland
cool vid thanks for uploading, Those guys are drown proof.
Waves...the only other place than a Rodeo where 8 seconds feels like a hella long time.
Its O'Rileys, Ireland. Feckin heavy slabs and perfect waves! video in the description's better XD
i love big wave edits with "light" music haha
awesome waves. Wish I was there
Is the a song that would better under mind the seriousness and intensity of this wave than this "hello" song?
at 0:15 the slab looks like the tsunami from deep impact
The slab is chill, especially for tow in at that size. But the ski pilot's not in the game! Duuudes?!
You see how fast it pitches?
Patience is a virtue. Spellcheck fail, twenty agree!
Gotten that spot a couple times fireing
That's some nasty carnage and wall footage!
Once it breaks its like a huge washing machine!
sooooo dope with the song
0:01 ... it a small wave
0:08 HOLY SHIT!!
2:27 the water draining off the rocks
i love this song, and nice waves
Poes BACKGROUND music once again
That was awesome... God's splendor on display.
The best possible comment ……. And crickets……
Wow that wave is sick and great footage! But jeez dude what's with choosing this tune!?🤣

I don't wear boots, hood, or gloves when i first started yes of course but i feel so much more comfortable without them.
Nice left. Slab of reef getting out looks nasty. Good video

The waves came to say hello . Great video
nice vid wezzzor! whats the name of the track at the end?
Yin for the kill
@wezzzor What type of camera did you record this with?
Damn that was heavy!
The first guy surfs like a champ!
It reminds me of the Wedge, except makeable...and not in 3' of water...
Haggerty's looking good !!
digging the song
Didn't look like they needed to tow to me...
Looks like a fun wave tho
Crazy! Yeah
Haha, what the fuck is up with the music?
If you lived in a country responsible for shit like Westlife, Boyzone and Jedward, you'd probably rate this track as something respectable too
maybe 'slab' refers to the slab of rock that guy with the broken board has to get out of the water on. but the wave is not a slab.
Sweet!
awesome!
thats gnarly
This is ireland?
Lots of fun, whats the place called?
Riley's wave in Ireland
I actually dig the music.
That is one bitchen-assed wave ,its the Slaberynth
Some farkin nuggets out there nice vid
Damn that looks fun...
Perfect for bodysurfing actually.
some heavy ass waves!
ชอบมากชอบความเก่งของเขาค่ะ
And you can even play your own song from your iTunes over the top :D
Cool muthic! Thweet!
wow that was cool!!
there is a bodyboarding video called 'the viking' and im pretty sure they charge this same spot :D
from what i know a slab is i wouldn't consider this a slab...i would just consider it big shorebreak
That's Ireland right ?
+Big chrissy Hunty Hunt It's Aileens off the Cliffs of Moher! Unbelievable slab!
xozpqrtv no it's not!
xozpqrtv definitely not!
Aussie_boi It is Ireland but not the cliff's of mohar
Daratheprofessional 1... yeah i know it's Ireland mate, but it's not Aileens like the other guys said🤙🏽
That's sum hardcore music bra!!
Do you honestly think you can paddle into that? Dont just answer yes either, look how the wave forms and think about it.
worst part of surfing, getting smashed on the 1st wave of a set and getting punished hard after getting knocked inshore
Not here for the music , but where was it filmed?
It looks like Ireland... besides that people is very well dressed
That shit is dope.
ohhhh gooodddddd! those iriland dudes charge omgoodddd
That's going dry at the end. Sick.
sorry hahha but this aint the wedge. scene when are there 100 ft jagged cliffs next to it. its the same spot the whole time
awesome
looks fun
mad beats
@DJSaschAustralia deep water into shallow water in a short amount of time. serach "shipsterns" for a better example.
'it's alright im getting busy, just come join the party' and 'hello' don't fit?
Mad that you can wipe out on a wave like that and get away without taking a beating.
Where was this filmed??
when i saw the. respect.. at the end. i was thinking damn straight!
1.52=Ouch!!! Cool wave in a scary way!
First song - martin solveig ; i just came to say hello
