Hougang not complete if never go Hainanese Hawker Centre. So many gems there

Why Kovan hawker centre not in the list? If you want to cover Hougang, it will have to cover the area in Hougang Central, Hougang Ave 8, Hougang St 21 (Kovan), Simon Road, Hougang St 91, Hougang St 51, Hougang Ave 6, Hougang Ave 10, Hougang Ave 7, Upp Serangoon View, Upp Serangoon Crescent, Hougang Ave 5, Hougang Ave 2, Hougang Ave 3, Jalan Rengkam, Hougang Ave 1, Defu, and Hougang St 11
Totally agree. This episode does not fully cover the entire good food in Hougang.
The real Hougang boundaries very big. That’s why outsiders now carve out Kovan now as a stand-alone.
The Mee Hoon Huay and Fish Soup stalls at the Ci Yuan Hawker Center are delicious!

Skip the western stall. It's just average.
It's good to see you covering good food in HG n I agree with your scores given. The real hidden gem did not appear in this video though. There's a duck noodles stall at Blk 703 Hougang Ave 2 always sold out by early afternoon. Also Ciel Patisserie which is a little outside of HG (Lor Ah Soo) etc. Maybe epi 2? :)
There are other GEMs in Hougang area which should try, like Hainan Curry Rice, $2 mixed rice and Fish Soup near Kovan area

@@twl8053 That's strange. I have tried it on numerous occasions and it is consistently good. In fact I would so as far to say probably the better one to be found in Hougang and even Sengkang and Punggol. Their sambal chilli packs a punch too!

I like their pork lard. Big and juicy. But not always have. Their hokkien Mee not bad, quite unami.
Ciel at Blk 119 Lor Ah Soo. 3 meals oer day, mee hoon kuey at Blk 121 Lor Ah Soo. 阿嫲吃面opposite of the porridge you havd eaten. Divine Realm Vegetarian at Blk 501 Hougang Ave 4.
Try yongs teochew kueh. I love their soon kueh

@@toni-kakuI give credit when it’s due. Yong’s kuehs used to be really good and their fillings were substantial compared to Now. Still a recommended eat compared to others. I’ve patronised them since more than 15 years ago. If only good food stays consistent in taste and quality. Sadly prices go up but the quality comes down in most cases.
i was shocked too satay beehoon without cockles and pork liver 没有灵魂 :(... ate once was good but lacked of these 2 ingredients

The lor mee not to my taste. The sauce taste bitter to me. Satay Bee Hoon portion small,. watery sauce and no hum.
This list like cannot be trusted. More like paid adverts of stalls. based on the list given in the description of this video, No.9 5 star corner the standard is really subpar and it's not cheap anymore. Also no.6 gimiee face noodle house it's also not that good. in fact in the very same coffeeshop there is another wanton mee stall in the center that is way better and way popular then this noodle shop. Go at lunch time and you will see the queue for the wanton mee stall can stretch until the bread shop while there is no queue at the featured noodle house.
Popular foodstall don't intro, intro those unpopular one lol...

For Gimme Face, it is one of my favourite bak chor mee stall in Hougang! Agree their business not as good but actually I feel unpopular stalls that serves good food need to be showcase more 🙂

Kovan is actually part of Hougang. Those of us who grew up here know this.
You are in Au Gang which is dialect territory. Please use Yew Char Kuay instead of Youtiao. We are not China.
