    Very Nice town. We drove through 4 months ago. Actually we're looking for an Airpark community with a hangar/small house in the area.

    Thank you so much for putting this together. I can speak as one who is looking into relocating and you touched on exactly how I feel. I really want to keep the mountains and I don't really want a huge City, more of a quiet neighborhood but with access to City things. I wish everyone in real estate would do this. I think I will be planning a trip in the near future to checkout Maryville a little further. Thank you again!

      Wonderful job. My wife and I are looking into moving that way in the summer of 24. We were there briefly last spring and had planned to be there for Christmas but United Airlines had other plans and it was cancelled. This summer is our next goal. We are looking for newer homes with neighborhood vibe. $400,00s would be perfect. I appreciate the information on property tax inside and outside the city. Outside would be nice. The neighborhood with the farm behind it was awesome. Thank you again for the tour.

    Maryville is one of my favorite places to go cycling, The Sandy Springs Park Greenway is huge, it goes all the way to Alcoa, even to some Louisville subdivisions, I can do 20 miles round trip, it is one of the best and longest Greenways I have seen, and they just paved the Greenway so it is super smooth on a bicycle 🚲 I've posted a few videos on my channel
    Nice video 👍

    10 seconds into this video Kristin asks me to pause it and runs away only to return wearing the same vest! Seems like a lot of the newer neighborhoods west of maryville are similar brick ranchers 2000-2500 square feet and backed up to farm land. We bought a lot in the “Wyndsong” neighborhood a bit further west towards Greenback but still about 15 from target 😁

    My wife and I are looking to move our family from Charlotte to possibly your area. Our dream is to buy 5 to 10 acres of land and build a small cabin. We are looking for some woods, a running creek or stream, that the cabin can be built next to, and a view of the mountains. We would like to stay within 15 to 30 minutes from a major town only for shopping purposes. Do you know any pieces of land in your area fitting the bill?

    Thank you for this! Looking to relocate and Maryville is on my short list, so this was great. The downtown area looks super cute. One question: I REALLY don't want a new-build (i.e. anything built after 2000 or 2010 at the absolute latest). What's the inventory like for houses in the 350K-499K range?
    To everyone unhappy with the growth, I get it and I'm sorry. My own small farm town has been overrun with out-of-staters and housing developments. But instead of complaining in YT comments, why don't you go get involved in local politics, go to town council meetings, maybe even run for town council, and do something about it? Growth is going to happen, but it doesn't have to negatively impact the people who have been there for decades. If my family and I had done that, maybe I wouldn't be looking to move somewhere else. (Actually I would be because my entire state is unrecognizable from what it used to be, but my point still stands.)

    Barbed wire around a high school? I don't think I've ever seen that before! Must be some reason I'm not understanding.
    Great video, this was super helpful! I love that area. When we toured E TN 2 years ago, when we drove into Maryville, we both immediately liked it.
    I don't think now is quite the right time, but my heart is there and I'd love to move there at some point. Whenever we're ready, we'll definitely call you!

      We're starving and going homeless from the sworms of people moving here and skyrocketing rent everywhere. Alcoholism and meth addiction has taken over as a result. Not to mention people are losing generational farms that are being developed to accommodate the masses moving here. The ecosystems are outta whack because of it now both in the rural areas and in the national park.

    Hi, I am thinking of retiring and moving to northeast tn or abingdon Va area . I wanted to know of a large town or small city that is walkable and has convenient access to a higher end mall with maybe a Nordstrom, Macys or Bloomingdales in it. Are there any areas like that in NE TN? I know Nashville has this, but it is too built up. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Sheila

    • @HaleyJonesRealtor
      @HaleyJonesRealtor  Рік тому

      Unfortunately East TN does not have any of these - there are Macy’s and Nordstrom stores in Nashville areas and Memphis - there are no Bloomingdale’s in the state. The two largest East TN cities are Knoxville & Chattanooga, after that’s are the tri-cities: Kingsport, Johnson City Bristol. I will say having lived in both Memphis and Atlanta Knoxville is lacking in amazing shopping options.

    I really wish people would stop moving out here. It's over crowded, rent has skyrocket all over and a lot of us who's from here including elderly and families with young children are going homeless because of it. All the HUD housing are on wait-list for 5+ years because homelessness is becoming more common since the rush of people moving here from other states. We're starving just trying to stay on our bills and not fall behind. It's next to impossible to buy a house because people not from here are buying everything up. Farms are shutting down and being developed. The ecosystems of the rural areas and the national park is thrown out of whack. Please feel free to come visit but please please please stop moving here!😢

    • @aimeekubik8803
      @aimeekubik8803 3 місяці тому

      Ok I won't move here. California girl. We have everything here. You don't sound friendly. So sorry life is hard for you guys. The red States have low wages, and lousy safety nets. The minimum wage here is now 20$ per hour. I will pray that God sends increases your way. Thus inflation is killing everyone. It is wrong to go to another area and cause pain to the locals.

    • @awarenessphotography8467
      @awarenessphotography8467 3 місяці тому

      @@aimeekubik8803 I promise I don't mean to be unfriendly. Life has just been chaotic around here for us and there's not much good happening for us that are just struggling to survive. Even our jail is over crowded by at least 5x as many more inmates than it can hold, families are being torn apart because of having nowhere to go after being evicted from not being able to keep up with rent prices rising so much, food pantries try to have enough food to go around but not enough coming in to supply everyone who needs it and we need farms because we can't eat buildings popping up on old farm lands. We're having it really rough over here. I'm a single mom just trying to stay afloat while taking care of my kids and my elderly mom and I live in constant fear of what are we going to do if it comes to either feeding my family or getting the bills paid on time so I don't fall behind which I'm never late paying my bills but we've had to cut back on so much that my kids can't even play sports anymore, we can't afford birthdays for the kids anymore and we have to sell off a lot of our furniture and stuff just to make ends meet. I know a lot of folks having it way worse than me too. I'm neighborly and do what I can when I can to help volunteer in the community but life is hard for us locals right now and I'm just trying to share this awareness in hopes to help my community.
