I started looking the other day at some of these things and was a little shocked. Not only are these truck prices ridiculous, it's the OUTRAGEOUS child care cost that are keeping things out of reach. Everything is priced to keep Americans constantly in debt...... Keep them in debt, THAT seems to be the new American dream.
Right, my sentiments exactly! A bare-bones brand new 1/2 ton anything starts at $30,000; heck, where I live the housing prices are unacceptable, and could cause another bubble burst. $350,000 and up to start for 3 car attached garages, 4+ bedrooms, 4+ bathrooms; I'd rather have a post-WWII traditional ranch, thanks.

Pro tip: you want a key ignition not button, I work roadside service. If the battery is low it will lock your fob inside it won't read it being present , also it will lock your key hole on the outside. And jump starts require a rediclous amount of time to charge because of all the systems in the car/truck. Also when you start suffering other mechanical issues the push the start button will just refuse to attempt to start the car. when if you had a key and you turned it you can diagnose a ton of information from the sounds it makes when it's cranking. That old adage clicking means low battery doesn't apply when your cars are newer than less 8 years with the push to start

Ouch! $67 grand... U.S. That means that up here in Igloo Land (Canada) that this 1/2 ton (!) pickup will be closer to $80 before options. What ever happened to stripped down inline 6’s (or 8’s) that could really be used for WORK - not just Home Hardware haulers being ‘needed’ for picking up 4 bags of peat moss and a couple of lawn chairs or dropping the kids off a hockey. Thanks for the shocking video.

Kellington Link you can still get them with a turbo 4 or a v6, the Denali is special, I like mu '06, same on the inside as a denali, outside is same as a regulatory pickup so no one knows but me!
The Denali is the highest trim option, which has options on top of that.
People stopped buying them. Why would they sell a cheap truck that nobody wants when they can make more money making an expensive truck that will break sales records? The opinions of people who are the third owner of vehicles don't affect manufacturers. The people they are after are the ones who walk into dealers and buy new vehicles.

The f150 has had sport mode for a few years, just holds gears longer maybe sounds a little meaner and the turbos don't have as much lag

In West Virginia we call these Hilljack BMWs. Nobody uses these things for actual towing, offroading, or any sort of anything that might get a scratch on it. It's just to look rich. All the coal execs drive these sort of things. $70,000 pickup truck. Give me a break. The smart ones just buy a Mercedes S-Class as their show piece and a barebones Frontier for actual utility needs.

I bought a brand new 2016 gmc sierra SLT 2 years ago and ive been using it for work ever since. I mean thats why i bought it, theres nothing wrong about wanting to have a comfortable ride back home after a long day of work. Its rated to tow a little under 9,500lbs because of the Z71 suspension but ive towed up to 12,000lbs with it so trust me i dont baby it. It cost me $50,000 and it already payed it self a long time ago with everything that it has gone through. They are pricey but totally worth the money if youre gona use it for what is really for.
You can buy this exact truck for 57k in Illinois. Who pays msrp on a vehicle?

I have a 2017 ultimate as well, the only thing i hate about the truck is the transmission and the fuel economy bs. So i had the trans tuned, and the afm shut off and she runs great. The only thing done is a borla attak exhaust and a cold air system

My dad's 14' Sierra Denali is one of the few that are actually put to work. Hauling kitchen cabinets about every day. It's great at that, and it's great as a family car driving my sister and I to school sometimes. And as for comfort? Fantastic. One thing though that bothers me is that tailgate. You still have the sidestep in the corners of the bumper. Just use those. That's what we use and its much faster then getting the step out.

It has the better looks better tech and much more features than the Sierra or the F150.
But the biggest drawback for the Ram is that it is a Chrysler reliability.

I know a lot of truck owners who say that the gas version of the GMs “Has Balls” when you floor it and it can get 18mpg in the city when you drive as slow as possible and 25mpg on highway at 55 or 22 at 70 expect for 80 it’s 17mpg
The Sport mode probably primarily affects the cylinder deactivation, keeping it running on all 8 cylinders at all times, which is why you don't notice a difference. The biggest difference will probably be in fuel economy.

I was always confused by the tow/haul mode (it used to be a button on the column shifter) I understand the tow part but isn't haul the same thing. My friends and I figured it meant to haul ass as it seemed to be more torquey

My first gut reaction was that the new 2019 Denali looks a lot like a Ford F-150... especially in the headlights.
Rmyers47 and the previous generation Sierra 2018 copies the 12 generation F-150 headlights and taillights, GM was slick enough to make them LED but Ford had that theme first. If you pay close attention since 2007 model year the GM Twins have taken some cues from 2004 F-150 design for example the steering wheel that looks awfully similar to that of the Ford Expedition 2003.

I think it's neat that they put the engine size. Everyone rocks the 5.3 and now you'll be able to tell if someone has the 5.3 or 6.2 without looking under the hood or listening closely to the exhaust.

67k what I paid for my first home in 1998. $600+ monthly payments for 30 years. If it's designed like all the other 4 door trucks, if you're tall, you have to lean forward to look out to the side. The B-pillar is really thick.

In my opinion gmc is a good work truck but the interiors are cheaply built. My experiences include having a 08 sierra denali and 2016 denali 2500
Sport mode on these trucks downshifts the trans much quicker to keep the engine in its peak powerband.. it also stiffens the steering and suspension for a sportier feel... unlike my 2018 f150 sport that only changes throttle response and tranny shifts.

These "trucks" looks ugly as hell, the Ford F150 looks almost exactly the same. The Dodge RAM looks like a pig instead of a RAM. Nissan Titan....it's ugly too. The Tundra looks the best and will last longer then any of these trucks...and I don't even like trucks.

Hoovie, the thing is with the Ecoboost ford, they never EVER make their stated fuel economy numbers. Those small turbos get on boost fast and happily chug 91 octane fuel (for best power and fuel economy this is recommended by ford, unless this has changed in the past 2 years) doing so.

Tailgate is nice, definitely worth an extra hundred bucks which bumps its real world value to $30,100.00
