- “This is an industry that screams more than anybody else for tolerance...but now all that stuff is completely a one-way street.”
Kevin Sorbo, best known for his role in ‘Hercules: The Legendary Journeys’, boldly shared his conservative values during his prolific acting career. Hollywood’s response was to ostracize him. This is his story.

I met Kevin Sorbo at a convention and he was a great gentleman. Instead of just signing autographs and posing for pictures, he started conversation. He wanted to know about each person he met. He was the nicest person.
I did too - years ago in the UK. He was great to talk to, very friendly. It was a great experience.
I have talked with him several times over 2.5 decades and he always remembered my name and he still is down to Earth and a regular guy.
That's so good to hear, Delta. This is very believable after watching this video.
can confirm he's good with the staff as well.
That is so cool and he has always struck me as a regular guy. Just like the time my wife and I got to meet Shelley Duvall at advanced screening of her art film, "Twilight of the Ice Nymphs." There was question and answer after the movie. And then we got to talk to her personally in the theater lobby later. (It was Dallas, Texas and we were having one of those torrential spring storms. So, better to wait until the rain slows down to one bucket per hour.)
I was an extra in one of his movies. We were told as extras, not to bother him. He showed up on set and immediately started talking to individuals including, at one point me. He was kind and very down to earth. Kevin is a genuinely kind and intelligent person.
Meet the Spartans?

He really is such a talkative and lovely open hearted person. Very rare to come across someone like that in LA. But he left an impression of truly good - when I met him at an event. Can’t say that for any other celeb I met
I grew up watching Kevin Sorbo when he was Hercules. He is a wonderful example of a Christian Conservative casting light in the wasteland that is Hollywood. Thank you, Kevin!
It was a really good show but the last few seasons got too silly. Like fighting that giant chicken.
Same here. Used to watch this show religiously every weekend when I first moved to the US.

"Let me have the chance to be rejected"
Best quote ever, I love it I felt it I need to apply it to my life
Don't worry he has already been "rejected" its why the "God's Not Dead" movies have done so poorly.
The first one was with Sorbo himself playing the snide, cynical and cruel "Athiest Professor who is mad at God which is why he isnt REALLY an Athiest".
The second movie was about a teacher who happened to mention The Bible in the context of a school lesson NOT like she was trying to convert students and suddenly the evil Athiests and the ACLU are trying to destroy her life in a powerful, dark conspiracy.
Can't imagine why they didnt do so well...
@@revparravager3184 I'll concede that those movies definitely needed to be better written to say the least, and yea the whole "I'm an atheist but I'm mad at God" thing made me laugh in front of my whole family in which they all gave me concerned looks.
In fact after the first one I decided that I wasn't gonna get the 2nd one a chance so thank you for letting me know about it so I don't waste my time.
That being said I am a Christian man and I do think that they had tunnel vision when making those movies and as a result we got what we got sadly.
To get back on topic however, I never mentioned any movies that he was in, I just thought that phrase was a good one to live by...Atheist, Christian, Buddhist, Agnostic, whatever. ^^
(I will double down on saying both movies you mentioned had some poor writing lol)

He told this story at an event I went to years ago, when he was trying out for the part of Hercules, they asked him to remove his shirt, he understood and complied. They then made some comments to each other and one of the people walked over and pulled him aside to ask if he minded shaving his chest for the part. He replied, "Oh, I thought you wanted a man to play the part." Absolutely stands by who he is. 100%

That is nice to hear. Just common courtesy, not so common anymore.
Good to hear - he seems like a good guy. There are a few of them in Hollyweird. I worked with Tom Selleck on a photo shoot in the late 90s at his ranch in CA. We finished the shoot and everyone on the crew was gone except me and another assistant as we were left wrapping equipment. Mr Selleck walks over to us and ask if we'd like a beer. "Sure!", we said. I figured he'd have a maid or someone bring a beer out to us. Nope - he walks into the house and comes out with 3 bottles and sits down and BS's with us for about 30 minutes! Kevin’s mom used to go to my church in Savannah. Such a sweet woman who raised her son right!

I love what he said recently. " If you want to cancel things, think higher, like the IRS". He nailed it!!
I didn't understand. Can u elaborate ?
@@nee.lavished In other words, if you're going to cancel anything, then cancel something that's worth canceling. IRS stands for "Internal Revenue Service" and they are responsible for collecting everyone's taxes. They've also ruined a lot of peoples businesses and personal lives by overcharging! The IRS are totally unnecessary! If we went to a "flat tax" then the IRS would no longer be needed. That is something worth canceling! Not Dr. Sues or Uncle Bens rice.

"is" :-)
its hard to have common ground with people that literally want you dead for not following their faith and are unwilling to talk to you if you dont recite their mantras
Allah Akbar?
the democrats have become as bad as the taliban and the nazis - anything and everything is justified to get rid of its enemies
I agree w @ac - they do want to kill everyone that disagrees with them
Blm?
It is impossible to have common ground.
The only hope is that the far Left can attain some type of common decency & sense.
But this has been in the making for quite some time in the country. From the destruction of the nuclear family, lack of religion, lack of civics taught in schools and the overall school educational systems...I do not believe it will get better.
@@easymoney7007 Totally agree - the left has been at war with common decent people for a long time.
As Christians, we are taught to turn the cheek and ignore the vitriol hurled from the left.
The left wants complete control and it is just a matter of time before they try to put people in death camps - Biden is senile enough to do so
Thank you Kevin Sorbo. If only we had more celebrity heroes like you to save our country.
I am glad Kevin Sorbo is speaking up. Thank you. Loved your movies and shows.
His recent movie "Let there be Light" was the last movie we have seen in a theater. Really enjoyed it. Not giving any more money to Hollywood.
Let there be light is a hollyweird movie
And that’s why they said they wouldn’t give anymore money.
@@sethralavode9012 No more money to Hollywood. Sorbo’s movie was not produced by a Hollywood studio. It was privately financed.
It takes actual courage to speak the truth and share your point of view in a field where doing so puts your livelihood at risk. We need more like him for our children to look up to.
💯

@@kaylamarie2703 Right wing propaganda..... whaaaa we are the victim.... whaaaaa
Absolutely. He’s a good Man!
It takes courage to speak the truth....even that is sad... speaking the truth should be normal
He is a rare human being, beautiful, inside and out. Has a beautiful aura surrounding him. What a delightful nine minutes.
Hollyweird needs more Kevin Sorbo’s right now. I’d love to buy this awesome guy a beer for being real, being who he is and mostly for being a true American patriot.
He'd make the perfect Dr doom
I joined pureflix just for the Kevin Sorbo movies. He really did make a lot of movies.
How else can he pay the rent on those 15 houses
@@sebsignat8286 you seem like a jealous, sad person from all your comments...
I am amuslim I was about eleven when I first saw Hercules we used to watch it in Ramadan in Egypt
Same here in Singapore
From cali, not religious and used to hate America, but now days since trump became president I'm conservative/libertarian and understand christians and love the greatest constitution of a country ever written...also started watching Hercules on tv with them rabbit ears and 7 fuzzy channels when I was about 11 🐇🍿🍻✌
Yea it was great series, there was nothing about modern politics, everyone could enjoy it.
Change your perspectives , become a Christian ! 😘

I was a little kid and at a Lakers game back when they played at the great western forum, and I remember I was a huge fan of hercules and during halftime or between periods, I was going to the bathroom or get some food, but before that I went to the tunnel where players came out, but saw Kevin sitting in a seat watching the game, so I went to him and he signed my lakers program and I remember as a kid I was so excited to meet him but nervous at the same time with some encouragement and prompting from my dad (RIP), he was really nice from what I remember!
Everytime I see him in a movie or show I know it's going to be good
Try watching God's not dead. It's downright terrible
Kevin Sorbo should do some narrating. He's got a good voice for it!
He's the narrator for the Patterns of Evidence: Exodus documentary. I highly recommend it!
@@walter1383 - Really? I might take a look at it. Thanks for the recommendation.
Kevin Sorbo is a good American! Thank you, PragerU!
I completely agree 100% thank you for your story and thank you prageru you truly are amazing
As a former Democrat and Latin America my eyes are open and I'm no longer me my wife my children associate with that party anymore👍🖐 🇺🇸 I love this country too much to be a Democrat
Hopefully UA-cam won't censor my message
Say it loud and proud. Be a beacon of light in your community. It's people like you that will save this nation, if it's still possible. Godspeed to you and yours.
I’m Latina and I thank God I have never felt for The Democrat’s lies, but I’m really glad people are waking up. We come to the US escaping corruption and violence in our countries and it makes sense to go against the party that want to destroy and change it for the worse, making it as bad as the countries we left behind.
@@ydelysuarez2548 That's the key. The Democrats lure people in, throw a bunch of money at them, and use that as a massive voter base. They don't care about securing our economy, they don't care that the strategy is unsustainable. They only care about the power grab.
This past year has been a perfect demonstration of that. Help them see the truth.
He's always been a stand up guy. A real life Hercules. ❤
I would watch Hercules and Xena Warrior Princess reruns every Saturday night as a kid. Sorbo is the man! Free speech for all!
I still do
To know we have Kevin Sorbo on our side makes me want to push on harder.
What "side" is that?
@@TomalakGeretkal Probably the whiny, bitchy, "I don't understand when I'm breaking rules on a privately run website so I must be getting cancelled" insane kind of side.
@Tom Lachecki@@allergictostupid2410 The side that isn't outside burning down buildings preaching tolerance while being intolerant.
@@jzblue345 Would that be the side that believes all the insane lies about voter fraud, and thinks Antifa, which is an idea and not an organization, sent a bunch of it's members to pose as Trump supporters and encourage the thousands of people around them to storm the capital and try to overthrow the government when in reality it was a bunch of far right wing nutjobs who kevin sorbo believes in as well as a bunch of people who were told to storm the capital by the 45th president because they're completely unhinged and have no hold on reality?

Way to go Kevin. As long as there are still people like you I believe things can change!
When I went to college, every professor from liberal arts and sciences and history will always push me to think for myself and not just take their lessons as the whole truth. Each and everyone of us needs to seek out the truth for ourselves and not just be pushed to think a certain way
