@@NoNonsenseKnowHow you can get everything sandblasted and professionally Rhino lined it would make it so your back system wouldn't sang so much because it would be filling in the space... can't use the roll-on stuff you can get yourself you need to have it professionally done or get a Rhino liner system... its 2 part chemical reaction like epoxy. Wouldn't hurt it... thats for sure... just gotta get rust off.

@@NoNonsenseKnowHow also I definitely agree with you that you do the alignment because it probably did the alignment on it based off of the broken frame so once you fix that broken frame alignment is now off because it was set for the broken frame... welding fabricating there's no reason to not converted to four-wheel drive if that's what you really want... slap a diesel in it too lol 😆

Thanks man. Yeah I could easily dump $10,000 into this truck but it just wouldn't be worth it in my opinion. Perfectly functional and and safe as it is now. She's a little ugly but a great unit. Thanks so much for checking the videos out
I have enjoyed the tow truck episodes, I drove Tow Trucks for 28 years and started with a square body chevy in 1975 with a Holmes 480 wrecker body, it has always been my thought that it doesn't matter how she looks as long she can do the work. So I agree, nothing further is needed to do the work that you do. Great Job! Congrats
She looks really good now considering what was supposed to be the end of her life in some yard. It just goes to show... everything has some life left in it, just needs a little love and care! Another great vid!

@16:30 The oil pressure switch is not a safety feature that shuts the pump off. It is a redundant power source for the fuel pump. The VCM doesn't know if it has oil pressure. It just knows that relay and/or the OPS is sending power to the pump. It's not the difficult of a circuit to understand but it seems 90% of the people that explain it, explain it incorrectly. The VCM only energizes the pump for a couple seconds with key on, not 15.

I drove one in the high country of Colorado for a few years and thats why I was so glad to see it fix up mine was Red and it was one hell of a tow truck it was two wheel also just chain up a lot and was never stuck . keep up hte great work Thats

Out of all this guys that do UTUBE "See if it starts after 10s of years" YOU'RE the BEST! You clean everything before you start, YOU don't dragge everything you clean everything before you put it back, you're honest, you let people know prices so they can get in to fixing an old car for themselves. Not everyone is Rich. I wish you could find more cars so you could put out more videos. Keep going MAN. Can't wait for the next video.

I been a long time follower of yours I did not watch the last video that’s the first one so far , it’s just me but what got you too where you are now is working on old cars and trucks , taking vacs and making a good video out of it so hopefully you get back too what got your start not demonstrating skateboards and power stations that stuff is boring but it’s just me.
Great informative video as always. Would love to see more revival videos though, Chris. Between yours and Derek's, those don't get much better.
great vid - loved the drone footage - you almost have it dialed - sandblast the decrepit backend and use a hd primer and glossy black epoxy - it is a primo cruiser and good advertising with qrcode on side - can't be beat #sniffing the tears
Just a fun fact…the slot that runs the whole length of the saddle blanket seat cover (under your knees) was originally designed as a long rifle scabbard, some are just pockets like you said. But many were sold designed for quick access to your hunting rifle.

Boy that ol' hardware store sure brought back great memories from back in the day when stores like this were the norm. Kinda breaks my heart that all we have here in my area is the big box, could-care-less customer service stores. You ask them a question and it's like YOU'RE putting THEM out!!! Right before I moved to Florida the City of Philadelphia made all Wreckers have those dumb stickers on their so they could pick our pockets. Chris Thank Goodness you put the Not for Hire decals on your truck because if you stray south on Route 1 you’ll probably get nailed!!! Go Birds!!!!
I love this wrecker and as a automotive youtuber, you actually make great use of it which is awesome!
Its one of the things I enjoy about a few channels that I follow(and yours) : They restore AND use the vehicles that they get!
I know that most UA-camrs have to go from project to project to keep things fresh and new, but I prefer videos like yours that go through every element of a vehicle. ❤️

I agree with you about U-Haul trailers the car carrier trailers are really set up nice with straps, like you mentioned the fenders move out of the way for easy entry/exit vehicle.

Use spray foam and carve it for the seat holes bro!
Blaster is my go to spray lubricant company. I use the dry silicone spray for my plow cylinders during the off season.
Dude this truck is you. I've seen all your videos and this truck draws me in each time. When I think of NNKN, this truck comes to mind every time.
Something about the old logo being bigger on one side makes me happy. Proves it was hand done and not some laser precision thing. That truck has so much character

Yup. Luckily it was kinked enough at this time to cause a bad enough running issue so not terrible to diagnose. That could have really bit me if it gave me problems out on the road or a recovery.

Can definitely understand preferring 4wd but I think you're well ahead with this truck, granted you did the work yourself but you got some content and very likely helped someone along the way, plus you have a fully functional tow if and when you need it

Quick question I own a 2016 chevy Colorado I have noticed that after we run through the Blue wave car wash my front suspension has been squeaking like if it was an old pick up truck. I did spray Blaster but not the green one your using in this video. If I use this green blaster would it stop the squeaking If it doesn't stop it what can I use? Took it in to the dealership for its regular oil changes & told them about it & they said they don't lube or grease suspensions can't believe this its the dealership I bought the truck from. Hoping for some advise Thanks RF from TX.

I have a few projects ,thewrecker is close to my heart . I have a 94 GMC dually it needs little things but it runs and drives fantastic with 6.5 Detroit turbo diesel halfway thru a brake overhaul now . possibly the worst brake job I've ever worked on every thing oversized and stupid heavy

In my state you can have a dump or tow truck etc with only passenger plates when you specify not for hire like you did…. However once you advertise logo they make you put
Commercial plates. Not sure about your State and if you care but may get you pulled over. Im sure you are prob up to laws
I've enjoyed every part of old wrecker new life, and you did the great job for sure. Those old runners mysteriously 'feel cared for', this one is looks to be grateful and obviously wanna help and stay with you. Maybe you already sold this magic car but if not hope to see new videos of this wrecker with new lebel 'Not for hire & not for sale' :-)
If the foam in that seat isn't turning to dust, you can buy a either a few thinner sheets of foam off of Amazon or at an upholstery shop, 3m spray glue, and just start layering it up. Once you've built it up higher than the rest of the seat it will be uneven, sticking above the correct level. An electric carving knife, like you'd carve your turkey with, is super inexpensive, and does a good job at carving and contouring foam.
You could cut out A square spot out of that foam. Then use A old house couch foam seat cut out square piece hot spray adhesive from Elmer's glue to fix that small area with.,or high tack adhesive spray for head liners.& Sun visor's instead.

There's 5 things I would do to it the back where the levers are I would put a bedliner Onnit get a couple snacks blocks they're basically pulleys the can double or even triple The winch capacity update the beacon lights go to off-road lights that would put off a lot more light go to make the truck a little more usable Wireless tail lights add two more lights on the back like a total of 4 let you know how much experience I have 14 and a half years and towing services

You can try carving out a puzzle piece from an old couch cushion someone threw out and using that to roughly fill the hole in the seat and glue it together with gorilla glue or some 3m spray adhesive and put the cover back on. I would make it a tad oversize because eventually it will weaken or shrink into a smaller size. 🤷♂

Old wrecker has came a long way. I like it just like it is. Its easy to go overboard and spend way too much on a vehicle.
I would clean the back of truck and spray some bed liner. Make it look better. Get rid of rust. spray air cleaner.
A good idea for a seat with a big hole in it is spray foam, fill it in and slap the cover on there before it expands. Or just use some duct tape and got over it so that when it does dry its level with the original stuff, then Let er dry then head to town
My Maternal grandfather used to own an old-school hardware store like that not far from there in Hamilton Township NJ
