@Melanie9908 what if ur just starting out at 52. Maxing out traditional 401k with S&P fund. Trying to figure out what to max roth IRA with....growth or dividends?
Thanks for using my question as a short Ryne. I think I will invest in SPLG for the growth, as I am retired and have some good dividend payers already. I would like to have some growth stocks/ETF's in my portfolio. Keep up the good work sir.
@@SG-xb7de when it comes to ETFs like any of these S&P 500 ones, I’m a big proponent for not waiting and just dollar cost averaging. Start building that thing!
If young -> growth, if near retirement-> income
Love it!

Definitely SPLG -- Unless you're retiring soon, I would focus on overall growth.
Nice!
I’m 45 and I am investing in VOO in my taxable account and FXAIX in my Roth.
I'm Splg, plus long term Splg dividend I believe should grow like Voo and soy dividend long term

Thank you Thomas!
I will go with $SPLG for the growth
Nice!
The differences are minimal considering how much spy trades
Go with OMFL its better holds 1000 companies and changes monthly.
I'm in SPYD
Is SPLG better than VOO? Is it a foundational or growth ETF?
They’re both the same thing pretty much. I think the S&P would be considered both growth and foundational
@@rynewilliams Is it better to wait a few months or to invest rn? Lumpsum or DCA?

@@rynewilliams Thank you!
So at a 71.98% return in the last 5 years that means $SPLG had a yearly return of 14.396%?
On average, yes
I wanted to like spyd, so much. But it just isn't as good as others
Agreed
Yes, same here; but SPYD is practically designed to underperform. Better stay with DGRO or SCHD for the dividend.
what app is that
This is from Seeking Alpha!
Keep going Ryne
SPLG for me please sir
Thank you for the encouragement Norman - it means a lot 🙌
