While I am not from the Phoenix area, I have had a run in with the Tempe cops on a visit for no other reason that they wanted to intimidate ... unpleasant and completely devoid of any basic training in civil rights is the best that I can say about them. In my opinion they are rotten from the top down. I applaud Direct D in his efforts.

I lived in Tempe for over a year and a half. To me, it was a type of hell. The citizens of that town are definitely last on the list of priorities in Tempe. I would say that it's too far gone, but I admire your resolve to create change in a place thats openly hostile towards human beings.

Hello I'm a citizen of the United States of America and a past resident of the state of Arizona.
I have been doing a lot of fact finding to find a place I can visit and even move to that is warmer weather then here in Vermont. Much to cold here.
Anyways I've come to the conclusion that you're city isn't one of those places I would feel safe in because of how the Police test citizens in your city. I'm actually quite happy to find many UA-cam videos that expose the corruption within the police dept and city counsel. I only say this because I live in a state that primarily does respect and protect citizens Rights. I'm willing to freeze and stay here too keep them rights protected.
The more people like myself who do research places before visiting or moving, the more you will lose revenue from tourism and taxes and are allowing your city representatives to prevent that revenue.

Sadly I don't think there will ever be change unless they're sued. I hate that taxpayers have to pay for their ignorance or malice, however I don't believe citizens will demand change until we understand that we are affected both by their poor choices as well as the consequences of them. Another tactic to force change is being at and speaking at city council meetings. Being active in your city govt. is the best way for the govt. to hear you. You can't force change on the streets with TBL gang members, but once the TBL gang members begin to hear from their bosses, change will slowly be made. Just brainstorming here, but I would reach out to all the media/auditors in the area and create a shareable public data base for anyone to share/observe the unedited footage of all of these interactions. I would include all meetings with law enforcement officials at stations and such while filing complaints, etc. and also all meetings with elected public officials. Once this is done, I would reach out to Federal authorities and reference the data base so they have access to all the civil rights violations that are occurring. I think it would be great if the department of justice began to take notice!

Because I believe in America, Americans, our rule of law, and that the fact that our constitution was written to be a living document that can adapt and change as our society does. I choose to have faith in my fellow Americans who have the courage to attempt to effect change in our established system! Thomas Paine used a printing press to write "Common Sense". I see these social networking platforms as a modern day printing press. If you want to be jaded and or paranoid and think that there must be some alternative motivation for their actions, well, that is your right as a free American. I, however, will have faith in my fellow citizens until they give me a reason not to!
